booms528 Posted September 10, 2013 Share Posted September 10, 2013 Listened this morning.... To be totally honest I thought it sucked. Like really really bad. I'm not just trolling and trying to start shit either... I wanted to like it. Oracular Spectacular was amazing. Congratulations was decent at best. I was afraid they'd keep getting weirder and they did. Best song for me was definitely "Introspection" and then I go and find out it's a cover, not their own song, so no wonder why it's the only listenable one. A bunch of people on other forums are "seeing Animal Collective influences" but all I'm seeing is a band trying to be Animal Collective but being really bad at it. (And I don't even like Animal Collective all that much.) I'm just really disappointed. You gotta like psych to be into it, though, so I could see this not being a lot of peoples cup of tea, especially if they're expecting another Oracular Spectacular. Please, don't let this be your first taste of their music or you'll be scarred.. Make that Time to Pretend EP or Oracular Spectacular.
