Requiescat
Both these tables look cool, but I think I'm going to still keep saving for a traveler. If I were to upgrade, I'd probably do the Scout Jr just because of it's upgradability. Even Matt says an upgraded Scout Jr would outperform a Traveler and I do like tinkering with my setups. I have my sights set on the rumored 20th Anniversary HW-19 turntable they've mentioned releasing in limited quantities in a couple years. I own the original so I think it would be fun to have that model. Definitely keeping their developments on the radar though. I always love seeing what VPI comes up with next. davepriz
any word on when or if the vpi scout jr is coming out?
xxmartinxx
I don't think it is. I think they made a prototype to compare to the Nomad and had people vote on which they should make and the Nomad won. Sucks because I think it would be a strong seller for them. kannibal
Especially because the nomad is lame.
swemoll
I guess that's what happens when a hifi company lets the open public make their business decisions.

JumpingBean
I talked with one of the VPI guys last month, and they are going to move ahead on this table, just maybe not until the fall/winter. He also told me that while it looks like a traveler arm, It's actually the original concept for the traveler arm that was never released, he says it's a bit better. Requiescat
Good to hear some new details. I'll be interested to see what they actually end up doing for the tonearm. I'm quite interested in this table but I'll likely hold out for the 40th Anniversary limited edition HW-19 that has been talked about but only because I love my original HW-19.
