Hey All! I apologize it has taken a few hours to get an address up as to what happened. Here is all the info: Yesterday at approximately 4:30 pm our servers were shut down by the server company due to a smoke alarm. We were told they determined there was no fire at the data center and that all servers were properly shut down while the fire department assessed the situation. A short while after they began to turn on the servers, with ours going on at about 9 pm EST. At this time our site was up but many pages were not working. Our server admin believes the servers were not actually 'properly' shut down and because of this there were some issues with MySQL tables. He worked all night and was able to restore everything a few hours ago. TO THE BEST OF OUR KNOWLEDGE everything on VC was restored. However there are SOOO many pages on this site it is impossible to know. So if you encounter any issues please do not use the support forum or post here. Well you are welcome to of course post issues and discuss here but IN ORDER FOR ANY ISSUES TO GET RESOLVED you must email us: [email protected] We will of course be looking at comments here and support forum however the email is the only way for us to deal with each individual one properly and in a quick manner. Also we have been working with servers and server providers for many years and assure this is a rare occurrence. Despite that with electronics you are always at risk of things like this. Once we are confident all data is properly restored the team will be looking at options to minimize downtime if something like this ever happens again. In order to restore their information we had to run a post recount. What this means is that everything is recounted. If a post is deleted it does not take that away from your post count, unless we run a post recount. Many of you have been on here for many, many years and I guess this has never been done before. A Link to a thread you started We will gladly assist in restoring your data. UPDATE: OCTOBER 10TH OUTAGE - We experience another outage on Thursday Oct 10th around 9 pm EST. This was due to a MySQL error from the server outage the previous day. The issue has been fixed and everything has been restored to the best of our knowledge.

Go edit the thread. When that opens down below where it says save changes select "Use Full Editor" that will allow you to edit the title, given you created it. Let us know if that worked!!

We have been actively discussing at how we can better the sales/trade thread. We completely understand it is a bit of a cluster fuck since VC has grown immensely.

Yesterday i was just saying to someone else that we should put some kind of limit specifically in the trade. This way we have some kind of history before they are selling and trading amongst the community. I agree 50 may be high. I will discuss with everyone and see what they think and would love to hear more opinions on this.

What was the number? I am pretty sure this is a default setting I can look into changing.

I (Jenna) have looked into this and I can only find one post deleted. I have restored it. I spoke to the person who deleted it and they swear that they didn't do it. I however can verify the IP that did the deleting is not one they have ever used so I kinda believe them and asked to change password. I will keep an eye on it for sure. If there are other posts besides what I was able to restore can you PM me and I can look into it. If I have your account name it may make it easier to find. No one at SRC would delete posts and do look at them to improve. Despite what everyone thinks about us being this huge company we are still a very small company with some definite weak spots and we do make mistakes. We may be slow at it at times but we do eventually return all CS emails that we receive and fix the issues. There is unfortunately more work than staff members which I am looking at changing that. Regardless PM me if your comment was deleted so I can look into it. We are most concerned with how this happened so even if you dont want your comment restored please PM me so I can find out what exactly happened.

Taylor Swift new release "Red" sold over 1.2 million copies in the first week! This is the first time in about 10 years an album has done this well. Not to mention, Taylor Swift's "Red" vinyl pressing that is due out November 19th was 2 copies away from reaching the Shop Radio Cast Top 10 album sales of last week. This is quite impressive since this is the first mainstream country album ever sold at SRC and is quite different from the average type of music sold. I must ask, what is the fascination with Swift?
