UPDATE: We are pushing the move to the updated boards until SUNDAY MAY 1st at 9 AM ET. We require a few hours of down time during this time. Sunday May 1st we will launch an updated version of Vinyl Collective with a new design!! We are upgrading the software with a new design. Everything should remain the same (feedback etc...) EXCEPT the Collection System! The collection system will be unavailable for a short period of time while we update and rebuild it. Once we relaunch the collection system, we are hoping that your lists made will still be there, however we cannot guarantee this!! IF YOU NEED YOUR COLLECTION LIST PLEASE MAKE A COPY BEFORE April 30, 2016 Any question feel free to post here. Thank you!

So it looks like we have ran out of space on our database system because of logs, etc. This started happening yesterday and we did not catch it. My apologies and we are fixing these issues as we speak!

We are doing a bunch of board updates this week and next so the Facebook image shoudl be fixed soon. We will look into the post time thing as well.

Tomorrow at 5 AM EST we will be shutting down the entire Vinyl Collective website to do a large server upgrade. We are adding 2 new servers to handle the growth of traffic at peak time. We are always doing our best to keep things loading as fast as possible and also keep optimum up time. Lately with the huge increase of users and traffic we feel it is time to increase our server resources. We will be down for roughly 2-3 hours. It will be a simple move but because of all the data it does take time so we appreciate your patience and cooperation. Remember this is all happening tomorrow morning (April 11, 2014) at 5:00 AM EST. Hey Everyone, We have blocked this user and associated IP addresses from using VC for not following our best practices policy (Which can be found here: http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/86642-vinyl-collective-best-practices-policy-for-dealing-with-identified-and-confirmed-scammers/ ) We do advise if you have an outstanding issue with the user take it up with Paypal or your credit card merchant. If you suspect this user has somehow returned at any point in the future be sure to let us know. This way we can do our best to help avoid issues like this from happening again.

Not sure if anyone else posted this yet but what you were told are the 'library mail' rules not 'media mail'. I am referring to: "education and learning purposes only" Here is a link to the media mail rules in their manual (Which someone posted): http://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/173.htm#1113509 Note vinyl fits under 4.1e There are no sender restrictions listed under media mail but there are for library mail 5.1 & 5.2 which is what I think your USPS person is quoting. Tell them to read section 173 in their manual over again

My understanding is that for the first few pages you view that appears by default. Then it disappears after viewing a few threads.

We have had some issues on the database end since we used Discogs engine. I know we are looking at how to move forward and fix or replace this system but no decision has been made yet sorry

In terms of the multiple complaints about adamrfox this is what we are going to do. As noted above we have stated this is one of our goals this year - to make VC a safe marketplace. Of course we cannot control what happens, especially outside of VC but we can definitely eliminate people from the sales/trades thread if they are not following the guidelines. As well in the past we have banned people from the board if there is proof they are fully and intentionally ripping people off. The main board is essentially the same thing as the sale /trade thread area, but more for labels and distros. And yes we are not going to tolerate people coming on here and ripping people off. It would help if members could provide us with clear info on exactly what happened here. Maybe a quick synopsis of the deleted thread focusing on people here getting ripped off that would be great. And if anyone who has been ripped off wants to make a direct complaint they can provide us with detail via PM (Please message me and I will share with mods) we will definitely consider a ban.

We cannot restore the topic. We have tried several ways and are not able to. REGARDLESS moving forward, we have made it so that no one can delete their own threads. If you want a thread deleted you will have to contact us and request. We will review from that point and it will be up to our discretion if the thread gets deleted or not.

Please note I have added an update above to include some issues that we have noted since the meltdown. Here it is as well: *UPDATE ON POST COUNTS/ DELETED PROFILES - Please note during the time of the outage a few members profiles were deleted. In order to restore their information we had to run a post recount. What this means is that everything is recounted. If a post is deleted it does not take that away from your post count, unless we run a post recount. Many of you have been on here for many, many years and I guess this has never been done before. Hey Folks! I have info for futurekills and will see if we can identify the issue. In the meantime the only thing I can suggest is if you changed your name at any point, try logging in with the user name you originally signed up with. This may include way back to when we were on proboards. I do recall this was a mass issue when we moved from proboards. And all that needed done was you had to log in with the original name you used and then change it again. Let me know if that works for any one. We will continue looking into these until we identify the issue
