Yeah I just picked this up from Vacation Vinyl yesterday with a sweet flexi included

I remember the last time a business tried to cheat on their Yelp rating

if there was a way, I would do it, maybe if I put isolation pads on everything.
When I was in a similar situation, I just bought a 30-foot audio cable, put my TT on the opposite end of the room on a different shelf, and just ran the cable across the entire room.
-
If the speakers are on isolation pads, and the cones (and rear port) aren't pointing at any part of the shelf, I don't think the resonance would be a huge issue. In fact the rear port should probably be past the edge of the shelf, since lower frequencies are more omnidirectional and would have a higher tendency of getting "trapped" in the shelf.
However, with only half an inch of space on top, it sounds like you wouldn't even have room for the isolation pads. You'd probably be much better off just putting them on top of the shelf instead of snugly in a cube.
-
I would just be aware of the rear port and make sure it's at least a foot or two from the wall.
Also need help, I have a Technics SL1200MK2 and is currently in between 2 Pioneer bookshelf speakers on top of a Kallax. Heard you can buy some kind of mat and isolation feet for it, would that be enough for it to be okay? Don't really have any room to move things around
Obviously isolation pads would improve the situation, but I would still try to find a way to have the TT and speakers on separate pieces of furniture.

Not sure if it would be considered "better", but The Strain on FX is getting really good. Slow start, but quickly picking up pace. Plus it's Guillermo del Toro. Can't be upset with that.
When The Strain started I liked them both about equally. Now The Leftovers is really growing on me and The Strain is just getting cheesier and played out imo.

Okay, so she just tried to buy a record from me on eBay. Unfortunately she tried to message me a different address than the "confirmed" one that she checked out with. Any experienced seller knows you get no seller protection unless you ship it to the confirmed address.
I messaged her back and told her I would have to cancel the transaction and she would have to change her confirmed address before repurchasing. She replied with "my old house burned down". That's when I remembered this thread so it's good to see the story checks out, and I feel bad about canceling the transaction now. But you might want to let her know that's a common scamming trick and that she should update her addresses on eBay and PayPal. Just a heads up!

Not liking how No Sleep's been putting the wilder variants as the least limited ones.
I never understood why all labels don't do that.

I preordered a record recently that never showed up. I ended up emailing them to change my address because I was moving and the response was "Oh that shipped weeks ago". I never got an email or anything. They looked up my tracking number which says that a delivery notice was left a few weeks ago (I never got that either). I went to the post office and they said it was returned to the sender. A month later I'm still emailing the guy asking if he got it back yet and apparently he still hasn't. Not sure what to do at this point besides ask if he has any other copies laying around that he'll ship to me.

Lot of Angelenos on this board so I figure I'll post this here. I've got some great-looking, great-sounding Polk floorstanders for sale.
A little about these speakers: they can be bi-wired/bi-amped, they come with floor spikes, they have amazingly detailed highs and mids, but the bass isn't so great. With a decent sub these things would be perfect.
Polk is selling these for $400 a pair on eBay right now. I'll let them go for
$200$160 if you pick them up.And here's a pic:

Last bump before eBay

Perhaps people stop buying your albums because the songs you write now suck and not because of piracy and streaming.
My stance is similar. I'm tired of every single band feeling entitled to making a living off their music. If it were that easy, everyone would be a musician.
Welcome to the real world, everything is a business and if you can't separate yourself from the bullshit and gain an insane fan base that will gladly spend money on your music, you aren't going to be able to support yourself with it. Get a real job and play music on the side like the rest of us.

This release is leaps and bounds better than the MOV one.

I'm in!
Already have Awake, so if I win I'll just throw that in with whatever I decide to give away.

Part of the appeal of vinyl is being forced to listen to the album as one cohesive work, from start to finish, how the artist intended it to be listened to.
