Bump. It also says open to offers

So no shipping notifications from SL on this one?

understood...you should throw em up on ebay and test your luck there...and if they dont sell, try again here. im eyeing a few.
Doesn't hurt to make a reasonable offer then. Shipping is the same for up to 3 items usually... So if you had something in mind, shoot me a PM.

Your enticing argument of "The American pressings sounded better than the European ones, can't explain it, but they did." only furthers the point that I shouldn't buy a 50 dollar 1990 copy from some guy in Spain.
That was regarding the 2007 vinyl reissues
-
Agreed, please point me in the direction of Violator on vinyl for under $50

Also, regarding the 2007-2008 re-issues, there were Eurpean pressings (on Mute) and Noth-American pressings (on Rhino/Reprise).
The American pressings sounded better than the European ones, can't explain it, but they did.
And final observation, the American versions had sloppier appearance overall (dinged jackets, fucked up inner sleeves, scuffed surface on the records) while the European packaging seemed immaculate and sturdier (heavier stock for the inner sleeves for example) and clean shiny records.
Am I too big of a DM fan?

So they're re-pressing these again...
Their catalog was entirely remastered in 2006 for CD and DVD Audio in 24/96 quality and issued in cd/dvd packages.
They were really nice products and the high res DVD-Audio sounded really great and had really nice screens during playback. The lengthy documentary series included with every album was delightful to say the least. There's about 8-9 hours in total of Depeche Mode documentary in interviews complete with their story from their very beginnings, newly made exclusively for these re-issues.
They also decided to take the high res transfers, remastered mind you, and press vinyl which was issued in 2007-2008.
These, unfortunately weren't as good sounding. They don't sound terrible but you can tell they're digitally processed.
The only one that sounds actually good was the Exciter remastered 2LP pressing.
Honestly, if you only care about the music, the CD/DVD reissues from 2006 are all the DM you could wish for.
If you really need your DM on vinyl, any original pressing will be better than those, and they're widely available still except of course for Playing the Angel which I agree, really needs to be re-issued.
I'm curious if these new ones will have the same sources as the last ones.

The final receipt I got for the order of a red copy clearly states 'sunn200LPred' in the product ID column, so if you put red in your cart, you will get red when you check out.
I ordered at the Southern Lord store, put Red in the cart, but the final receipt says "sunn200LP".
This is why I said it's confusing.
The receipt also says "single LP".
-
Wonder if Ulver will have their own exclusive variant...
-
It's all a little confusing though, at the checkout, it says "SINGLE LP" in the product line.
Also, in the sunn store it says Red vinyl at checkout, but in the Southern lord store there's no color mentioned when you view your cart.
Kind of a mess...

I think Blues Hour is one of my new favorite Mogwai songs. I'm a sucker for Stuart singing. I don't think he could sound any more like Stephen from Codeine but I love it.
Dude, you're killing me.
First, Hardcore was a Kelly Clarkson album more or less, now Blues Hour?
Blues Hour is one of their worst songs, it shouldn't have made the album... But the band knows better obviously.
Seriously, that song kicks the whole album in the nards. It's so disruptive.
Other than that, it's killer.
Satan. You gotta live for Satan.

Wasn't this already posted..

Sorry about the late response, I just saw your post.
I have this and it sounds great. Nice black 180g vinyl. There's no insert or anything but it's a nice inner sleeve, not just the standard white paper.
Thanks so much!
I was worried because of some bad comments I saw on discogs regarding their releases, and didn't want to find out the hard way.
-
It looks really great in person
Love how 2LP is now a PERSON
-
20 years from now it'll be in the thrift store bins.
Same goes for all the vinyl that's being put out right now.
-
I felt Hardcore Will Never Die was a little more progressive and heavier sounding all around, but far from poppy.
The songs sounded great live especially.
Rave Tapes is more like the Mogwai everybody knows, but killer nonetheless. It makes me wanna get that boxset too.
-
The rest of the album sounded like Kelly Clarkson could sing over it.
You're exaggerating.
That album is top notch beginning to end, and Rano Pano is one of the best songs I've ever heard.
