  1. Is this seriously going to be the price tag for us in the States?
  2. I was lucky enough to see Old Crow with Edward Sharpe and Mumford when they had their Railroad Revival Tour come through Austin a few years back. Old Crow put on an amazing show. Sucks they won't be at the Guthrie show. I also heard that the Simcoe show sold out super fast. I wouldn't go paying Ebay prices just yet. I'm sure closer to the event people are going to be selling their tickets for face. Join the Mumford & Sons forum. Good people on there. I'm sure you can find some tickets.
  3. I just gave this a listen on Spotify this morning. It's really good. Been relentlessly looking for a US distributor. Anyone had any luck since this came out today? Just looking for the vinyl. Not the box set.
  4. Hang in there man! After reading through all this, you seem like a stand up guy. Taking care of your kids. Awesome.
  5. I was wondering if any of you will be attending one of the Gentlemen of the Road Stopover towns this year. A lot of you don't strike me as Mumford & Sons fans, but there's a number of great bands on the bill. I'm heading to Oklahoma for the Guthrie show. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Alabama Shakes and Bear's Den are just a few that I am excited to see. From what I understand, the bands basically "take over" a small town for 2 days with after parties and a festival during the day. We'll be camping out for the 2 days. Looks like each stop has already sold out in just over a day. They sold around 25,000 tickets at each venue for $109 a piece. That's quite a bit of change to make in a 3 day span, lol. Guess it doesn't hurt that they won "Album of the Year" last night at the Grammy's too. Here's a little info. if anyone's interested. http://www.gentlemenoftheroad.com/home/
  6. You wouldn't be harassing me! I'll just see how many days I can get to the RRS. Depends on if the wife lets me get away for hours at a time to stand in line, lol.
  7. I'll definitely see what I can do. I've already been getting PM's about the Gibby.
  8. I am really sorry to hear that. They should have given you more than just 10% off your next purchase.
  9. I can definitely snag a shot glass for you. If I can talk my wife into standing in line with me, I'll get her to pick up some vinyl as well to get to some people on the board.
  10. If I'm able, ill try and just grab 2 of whatever I can and sell it on here for what I paid.
  11. I'll be at SXSW this year. Never seen the Rolling Record Store before. Could be fun to try and hunt it down. If anyone would like, I could try and pick up some items for them.
  12. I'm cool with mr. noodle. I definitely apologize if I offended anyone. I come here to seriously have a good time and enjoy everyone. And I decided we will be watching a sunset together...not walking in the moonlight
  13. Thanks so much untiliwakeup! I definitely will check it out
  14. Lol, it's no big deal...it took me a second to realize he was making fun of me when he made the $30 comment. I thought he was talking about the record as well. I 100% agree with you Toki on everything you just posted. This place has been great for me to discuss and ask questions about my hobby. There are some really awesome people on here.
  15. Lol! Yeah it did. I'm a hot head...I should learn to take a little jabbing. Edit: I guess I was just sticking up for all the noobs that never do it.
  16. Thanks for the feedback Toki. I do appreciate it. I completely understand that some people around here just shrug things off when there are comments like "$30....is that a joke?" In response to how much money I have in my checking account at the moment. That's pretty low, on any standard. I guess, I should be a little more guarded with my personal information I have also noticed that around here there are folks that just bully to bully. Or they just take it upon themselves to make a lousy comment. Yes, I took the offensive. I have no ill will towards mr. noodle. I was actually finding myself intrigued with an internet fight. I've never gotten into it with someone through a forum before. It's quite simple why this has never happened to me though... I don't see the need to ever make fun of someone for something as personal as "money." I don't need your sarcasm, and I blame myself for putting it out there. I've found that you're a positive force here on the boards Toki. Thanks for the heads up, and I'm hoping we can all just get along .
  17. Good! I was hoping you would come back. Just a few things which I find comical. $30 to my name? I'm hoping mr. noodle has a savings account that he puts more than just a couple of noodles in each month. He might find his way to an early retirement if he does that. That's free advice. And since you've done SXSW many times over and obviously are a family man yourself (based on your observation on how I should go about spending my money and how to keep my wife) ....you realize that I just dropped close to $1500 on badges that my wife knows about and is very happy with. Happy wife, happy home. But again, you already know that. And yes, there is a need to be "shitty." You say that you're not trying to be "insensitive," yet you blatantly make a childish crack at a noob about having $30 in his account. I saw you got a "like" from that. Good for you. I guess we won't be "friending" each other on the board any time soon. No need to respond. I'm through. Have a good one. Or, you can have the last word. No problem.
  18. Yep, being serious. Just thought I'd ask a question for the board. Thanks for chiming in though. Edit: and who is "we?" It's just me big guy.
  19. Thanks for your insight mr. noodle. Killer name, by the way. I'll make sure to shoot you a PM next time I plan on purchasing a vinyl. Maybe I could get your home phone number. I mean, I wouldn't want to live above my means now would I? Oh, and since your post was, to say the least, insensitive to someone else's financial situation...I guess I owe it to you to let you know what I have purchased this month. Since I just got married, and my wife's birthday is coming up, I decided to get her what she has been wanting for the last decade...Two Music Badges to attend this years SXSW festival in Austin. Look it up. Again, thank you for your post...now kindly fuck off.
  20. Thanks MisSigsFan! I'm sure Toki will let me know what's up once he re-visits this thread!
  21. Alright, small dilemma. I know where a lot of y'all stand on variant collecting, but I figured I'd still ask the question anyway. I received my Hot Topic Clear Vinyl shipment a few days ago with it's fair share of dings, bent corners and split seams. My other two (Foil Stamp & Standard 140g Black) are flawless. Here's what I'm thinking...should I just role the dice one more time and purchase another Clear from Hot Topic in hopes they package it better and to keep my collection perfect? Is this my only option? Yes, I understand that dings and split seams are part of the game, but I want these to be perfect. I'm seeing the Deftones in Austin and Houston when they come through town in about 2 months so I know that's probably spurring this on as well. Thanks.
