It really added something to their songs. I wasn't expecting that at all. Alligator is definitely looking like it's going to be my next purchase. I'm thinking I might need to go to my local record store today and pick it up. I've been in an awesome mood ever since last night. Seriously one of the best shows I've seen.

Well, I saw The National last night. I can easily say this is my new favorite band. Trouble Will Find Me has been my go to album since they released it in May. High Violet is definitely a close second, but it's just something about Trouble Will Find Me that really took this band to the next level IMO. Matt Berninger was on fire. Towards the end of the night he jumped into the crowd, still singing, and ran half way to the back of the venue. It was incredible. He darted straight for me and my buddy and then kept on going. He is definitely an entertainer. He also handed an entire bottle of wine with a cup to someone in the front row! Perks of getting there early I suppose I wanted to start this thread because I've enjoyed this band for a while now. I wanted to see what others had to say about the shows they've attended. Is Berninger always this animated? Screaming, pounding the microphone against his head, running through a sold out crowd? I could tell that the crowd at times couldn't believe how into it he was. Also, where should I go from here catalog wise? My knowledge of the band only goes back as far as Boxer. I've heard many of you saying that Alligator is by far and away their best album. Would it be good to jump into that. I haven't read much about Cherry Tree and haven't seen the best of reviews for their self titled. Thoughts? What is everyone's favorite album? It was a great night, and I did see they were selling the Deluxe Vinyl for $50 at merch. Saw a few people walking around with it. Discuss!

I'm listening to the second release now, again, and I don't think I would ever listen to this on my TT. Good thing I decided to listen once more before pulling the trigger. I usually have zero self control on deals as good as this.
