I gave up my listening room to make a playroom for my daughter and decided to stuff my music gear in a small office upstairs until we decide to finish the basement. The rooms only 10 x 11 but should hold me over for a couple years.

My issue is not that it's being pressed. Not at all. I am always a proponent that if there is demand an LP should be in print. That goes for Pavoratti to Blues Traveler to Uniform Choice. I've found plenty of new music via VC but this is a place that is a community built around a commonality in taste. That isn't a controversial statement. Built off of the love of Punk many members like Hip Hop too. I'm a junkie for early Revelation releases that aren't talked about here. Others have flexed some serious Jazz and Classical knowledge. But the root has always stayed the same and no one has to continue to show tolerance for the board being junked up with even more 90s Nostalgia Represses. I wouldn't say delete the thread - wouldn't have when I was a mod - but like hell if it isn't a golden opportunity to look back upon so much terrible music from my day. I had left but the tossing out about "Good Charlotte" didn't help. Two sets of crap doesn't somehow make either a good idea.
Anyway, no one is saying anything can't be posted or discussed but just because we are now littered with a million threads about bands that garner two pages of response does not put them on equal footing with what this place was built around.
I hear your point, I originally found this place searching for punk records. But It's hard to swallow that some middle of the road 90's bands are the issue when the front page is full of The Frozen Soundtrack, Lion King Picture Discs and Coldplay's new record. Like a poster said above, its hard to claim this is a punk rock board when we have a 100 page Taylor Swift thread. I just consider this a Vinyl message board that leans punk.

I always wondered what it would be like to see Emo kids fight with hippies. But seriously, I'm not a huge BT fan but they did have 3 gold records, 1 platinum, and a 6x platinum album, they had a pretty impressive run back in the day. I will pick up Four, I always liked that album, but not really interested in the rest.

I want a full Dave/Tim live album pressed.
Luther College and Red Rocks would be great

Struck out on RSD, only wanted the DCFC album and couldn't find it, so I self medicated with more records:
The Eastern Sea - Plague
Sublime - S/T
Margot & the Nuclear So & So's - Slingshot to Heaven
Margot & the Nuclear So & So's - Buzzard
Phish - Joy
Velvet Underground - Loaded
Jack Johnson - On & On

Where did you guys find the full album? I'm still waiting for my deluxe copy. Is there somewhere we can download the whole thing?
The full album is streaming on Pastemagazine.com now if you are still looking for it.

I had these speakers for the last year and just ordered new speakers this week, so they are being replaced. These are great speakers, I picked them up for $49 last year and they certainly out perform their price. As a previous poster mentioned you would improve your sound with a sub, but that's to be expected from small book shelf speakers.
-
While Focals are beautiful sounding speakers they are known to lack in the bass department. I would get the Diamond 10.1's and throw a 12 inch sub in the mix, you can get a Dayton Sub-1200 from parts express for like $110 , it it would provide better bass then the $100 upgrade to the diamond 10.2's 6.5 driver.

I got my USPS shipping intimated email on December 9th, it updated to shipped on Tuesday the 17th and I received the albums last night. The packing job was kinda weak, the bottom corner of both jackets were bent in but the records were unscathed. Only had a chance to listen to one song on S/T but the sound quality was very good so far.

Haha, I just got another email 5 minutes ago with all new tracking info. This one says no info available, so they must have just reprinted labels.
-
Yeah, seems like a long time to sit on it without shipping it. You never know with USPS, I find their tracking info very untrustworthy, it rarely seems to be right.

I have really started reeling in record purchases as well, just recently. What kind of cemented it for me was the Temple of the Dog release, I had it in my cart for $50 bucks and realized I could get this CD on half.com for like 3 bucks. The premium for vinyl just became too high. I still buy now and then but I am starting to substitute CDs instead of the vinyl in many cases when the price difference is that huge. I just bought the new Mansions record for like 17 bucks, that price range is the sweet spot for me.

Bought this a couple months ago, love this version. Now I just wish he would offer Live in Lubbock on Vinyl or even CD.
-
I"ll buy the boxset for S/T and Blue, but it may be a deal breaker if Blue doesn't have the original lyrics for Slow Motion, that semi instrumental/censored version they put out was nonsense.

Glad this got funded, can't wait to hear White Lighter. I also just saw Hunger and Thirst and A New Kind of House reissues are available separately on Tender Loving Empire's website.Orange and Translucent brown vinyl respectively.

City Hall has it listed with a 45 rpm version of Transatlanticism still, I wonder if they fixed it for the new ones or are just continuing to advertise it incorrectly. Still annoyed Trans wasn't 45, it was one of the deciding factors that made me buy it.

It's a $5 ipad stand I found on amazon, it's padded and works quite well for $5.Nice, what record stand are you using?
-
This is my record area for now, have a baby on the way and this is turning into a playroom, but for now it's records.
-
My understanding is that this is the only preorder for the record. My guess would be even if they don't reach 60,000 they will contact you about still purchasing the record.
-
I'd be interested in the new jackets.

I hit up the preorder on kickstarter for the new record, everything I have heard so far sounds good. I have been looking for Hunger and Thirst on Vinyl for months and have not found one anywhere. I saw the reissued it for the kickstarter project but its only available at the 150$ level and up.

Moved my setup into a small upstairs office for now, should hold me over until I can redo the basement.
