Yeah, I forget the name... I think it was a female first name. Margot?
Yep that's it, according to Wikipedia lol. I couldn't remember so I had to look there after I saw your comment.

he shared that he was into stuff like Korn and Deftones in highschool and that it was the kind of music that he played in bands at the time.
Makes sense. They had a
punkrock band before they started The Avett Bros. -
Thanks for the heads up!

Star post. Looking forward to the eventual tour for the album. Every time they've come in the last handful of tour cycles, I've missed them due to being out of town for work or whatever so I have yet to see them live. Really hoping I can change that this time.

Where did you order from?
I'm not OP, but I got the shipping notification from VMP for SFTD today.

Looks like UO updated the picture to now be the same mockup as the webstore...

I’ve got the MOV version of LTP. Don’t see a reason for double dipping here.
The MOV version doesn't have "Infinity" or "Precious and Grace". The latter being a ZZ Top cover with Billy Gibbons splitting vocal duties with Mark Lanegan and trading off guitar solos with Josh. That song alone was worth what I paid for the OG press haha.
Or you could try to find ZZ Top's Tres Hombres in the dollar bin and live with the non Mark & Josh original lol
Edit: Also, "Like a Drug" is up in the tracklist rather than tacked on the end like a bonus track.

I wonder if these are all Bernie Grundman masters like VMP? Cautiously optimistic on sound quality
I'm interested to know this as well. Waiting to find out more info before any decisions. I have the OG press of LTP and getting the VMP variant of SFTD, but would like that 12" press of EV if the sound quality is good. I've heard the 3x10" version isn't great.

Just saw Chromatics respond to a comment on Instagram where someone asked about Dear Tommy and they responded with “Tommy Lives.”
To add to that, they also commented that Closer To Grey is Chromatic's 7th album, hence the VII on the artwork. They indicated that Night Drive is IV, Kill For Love is V, and Dear Tommy is VI. I really hope it gets released some day.

I was talking about them selling the vinyl version for a buck. They are always so generous.
Yeah after I replied I thought you most likely meant that instead lol sorry.
Excited to give this a first listen!

That would be hilarious if it were still priced at $1 tomorrow. It's unlikely, though not out of the question, considering all those free records they were sending out for a while. I scored a couple.
I'm pretty sure all their digital releases (singles, albums, EPs, etc.) have been priced at $1 to download. I could be wrong though.

Considering doing something similar. Do you have a crate subscription? I still haven’t tried flip-flopping between a monthly sub and the $6 crate sub. I’ve been told it’s doable with no consequence but I have this overwhelming hunch that VMP will revoke my crate sub when I opt out of the monthly subscription.
Yeah I'm not sure. I just did the monthly sub at one point in the past (it was for Fiona Apple's Tidal to be able to get that VMP variant of the latest Fleet Foxes album then cancelled right after). This is my first time back with VMP since. I don't know if I even have the ability to get that crate sub.

I ended up signing back up for monthly, swapping The Flaming Lips for Gorillaz, then after getting QOTSA will decide what to do from there.
Interested to know what the non-VMP variants of the QOTSA album will be. It'd be cool if they did an all-black version like they did for Black Friday RSD for Like Clockwork.

Re-up next month for SFTD using your grandfathered one-month option.
Ok that's what I'll do then, thanks!
Do you know the approx date for when next month's AOTM will go live?
-
Sorry to not fully understand this, but could someone clarify for me please? I currently have the ability to re-up and get the month-to-month subscription. Do you think if I don't do it this month for Soft Bulletin that I won't be able to re-up as month-to-month next month for SFTD? I don't want Soft Bulletin and I don't want to do a 3-month sub, but do want SFTD.Edit: the site crashed when I went to hit save and it double-posted for some reason. Sorry.

I edited my other posts to include some pics of the 6th press that's available if anyone wants it. They're here as well. Feel free to PM me if you're interested!

I ordered it too. It should be here next week I think. Will update on how it was packed, how it arrived, etc.
Oops forgot to post an update on this post. Ordered from amazon.co.uk for like $18 shipped via prime, arrived in like approx 3-4 weeks. It was packaged in a record mailer which was then put inside a regular box. The regular box was pretty beat up but the mailer was fine so the record was unscathed.
Gave the album one full listen so far. It sounds really nice, although I don't have a US press to compare to. I noted only a couple spots of crackle/distortion, which could prob be removed with a proper cleaning but I only have a brush. All in all, for the money it's completely worth it imo.

Threads you've posted in mark with a star on the left hand side when looking at the threads. Just an easier way to keep track to what threads you want to pay attention to.
To add to this - when you click on the star, it takes you to the first unread comment that's been posted by a user since the last time you were in the thread. I really like that feature, especially for threads with a lot of activity!
Two birds with this comment, as I'm posting for the star too lol

Might be interested, any chance you could send me a pic? Thanks!
Sure! Traveling for work and won't be home until tomorrow night, so will try to do it then!
Edit: pics are posted here.

I have a copy of the 6th press aqua green swirl if someone wants it. It's the variant that best matches the artwork imo. Listened to it once when I got it around the time it was released and don't recall it having any sound quality issues, but I can listen to it again if requested lol. $24 shipped? Let me know.
Edit: here are some pics.

Pretty much just the last two albums make up the bulk of their set these days. I find coffins on io to be far superior to plastic house on base of sky, but they're both great. They'll occasionally drop something from blue lambecy or the eps, and maaaaybe they break out something from dowsing, never seen em play anything from Choirs in the last decade. By and large expect to hear Coffins and PHOBOS.
Cool, thanks for the info!
