  1. To be fair, someone asked how much it was costing to have cover songs on the record and I quoted saying it was a good question but it was ignored. It wasn't being asked in cynicism or as an attack, just out of curiosity. Also, how much do you estimate from the $49 per record will go to charity? Thanks.
  2. You're probably already doing this but it's best to keep everything documented really carefully - receipts and shit. Everything from the selotape to the pressing in case anyone questions the amount you donate in the end. Good intentions mean little when integrity is questioned. I recently did a charity thing and made sure I kept receipts for everything for the same reason. I bought mailers, bubble wrap etc out of my own pocket just as a kind of 'donation' from me to the project, to keep postage costs down for buyers but I ended up being out of pocket a further £200 / $330 through under-charging for the actual shipping. (They were auctions and lots and lots of items ended up going for much more than I had expected so I needed to send them via signed-for delivery, when I had only charged for standard on most items ) Good luck with the record and I hope you raise loads!
  3. This is a question + a big moany moan: Do you know of any UK distros that are stocking this record? I'm just a bit tired of spending almost $30 on a record that costs $10 in the US. Whether I order from a shop in the UK or from Effervescence Records it costs me pretty much the same (ok, £1 less) as ordering it directly from No Idea even with the $20 shipping cost from the US. I might as well order from you for $30 and at least get a choice of colour for the extra £1. How come you can even sell the Euro versions for cheaper than what they're going for at Effervescence? If you took the price of the Euro version €12/$16.50 and multiplied it by a factor of 2.5 to get $41.25, how many do you think you could sell? Cos that's basically what I'm faced with right now in the UK when ordering from a UK shop, the LP being ($10 x 2.5) $25 + postage. So yeah, if you know of anywhere that's selling it for maybe even... to a factor of 2 that'd be cool EDIT: I just answered my own question by finding it in stock at AllInVinyl for £9 which is 1.5 times the US price so I'm happy with that!
  4. Lots of stuff I haven't listened to yet but: ANTILLECTUAL - Perspectives & Objectives BOYSETSFIRE - While A Nation Sleeps CRUSADES - Perhaps You Deliver This Judgement...
  5. My guess would be that the more you press, the bigger your outlay so the more copies you have to sell before any donations are made at all. It probably comes down to how many copies you think you can sell, and how fast.
  6. I think though that sometimes bands can have what's called a double contract cos I was speaking to some guy who knows some band at some festival and he said you can have contracts that say stuff like that and shit so it's not entirely impossible that No Sleeping will do the vinyl. No Sleeps do good vinyl so it makes sense that they do a The Dispute vinyl no matter what other label Las Disputes is with and stuff.
  7. Is the clear red sold out? Edit: Sorry didn't realise the clear was part of the fest edition. Got me a clear red
  8. Thanks! I agree on both points. FITA were ridiculously generous offering this up for auction. It's really exciting to have it listed. Brilliant album.
  9. FITA have donated this test press to be auctioned for Rape Crisis Glasgow. It's the first copy ever made available to the public. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171189625276?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 That's the one I thought would be of most interest in here but there are quite a few other records that have been donated. Some examples: - Chvrches - The Mother We Share 10" - Signed - Belle and Sebastian - The Third Eye Centre 2xLP - Signed - Frightened Rabbit / LAU split 7" - Signed by Scott - Frightened Rabbit - Dead Now 7" - Signed by Scott Here's a link to all the auctions: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/weareripcord/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= And if you can offer any help spreading the word about these that would be most appreciated. Cheers!
  10. If anyone can hook me up with a copy via a local store I'd be forever grateful. Someone's offered to get one from the website for me but I don't know if that will work out cos of the cancellations. I'm in the UK and will obviously pay for postage etc. Thanks.
  11. $100 is actually a bargain for it, at least here in the UK. Every time I've seen it on ebay UK (which is rarely) it's went for around £180, which is about $280. That's why I'm so eager to get this repress.
  12. Thank you! I'm just so scared of missing this. It is THE nostalgia record for me, plus it's still awesome all these years later. Cannot afford to miss this one.
  13. Yeah I was quite disappointed with "Go", especially after how much I loved MDL. Looking forward to what they do next though.
