Not what I expected at all from a No Sleep release. Sounds good though.
-
New song is wonderful.
-
I can live without a tour press, but now I just hope that regular copies last the next couple weeks.

Most of that Captain, We're Sinking album is just ok in my opinion, but "More Tequila, Less Joe" is honestly one of the best songs I've ever heard.
My thoughts exactly, but for me it's "Crushed By Milwaukee's Best" (from an earlier 7").

Is that Weakerthans cover released anywhere else or on MP3? I love the Weakerthans and enjoy the Wonder Years.
This was also a steal, I enjoyed AP when I had it. Not all the articles were great (had to wade through bands like Breathe Carolina and Freshman 15 or whatever) but some were awesome (the "history ofs..." were great, especially the Bouncing Souls one).
I know this post is from two and a half years ago, but I'm quoting to say that I'd buy at book that compiled all of the Oral History articles they've had over the years.

There are copies of the red/white/blue splatter (subscriber/final shows exclusive) up here. Not sure how limited these were, but I snagged one and got that Bomb the Meowsic Industry shirt too.
-
This album is so freaking good. I can seriously see this being my album of the year.
-
I'm trying to complete my Wonder Years collection (by my standards - no variants), and I just have a few things left to get.
Leavenhouse. 11:30. 7"
2007 Tour EP CD
I Refuse To Sink: A Collection of Prior Recordings CD
I'd also love a copy of Paper Boats Or Some Poems I wrote, but I know that won't come cheap, and I might be interested in other TWY stuff.
I'd also like to get the whole Mineral discography. I already have an original pressing of The Power of Failing, so here's what I'm looking for:
EndSerenading LP
February/M.D. 7"
Gloria/Parking Lot 7"
Mineral/Jimmy Eat World/Sense Field split 7"
&Serenading 7"
I know a copy of EndSerenading will be darn near impossible to find for a reasonable price, and I know most of the 7"s can be bought on Discogs for a decent price, but I'd rather buy through here if possible. I might also be interested in a second pressing copy of The Power of Failing and the Complete Collection CD set, but the other stuff is more important.

Hoping they have some copies (whether the tour press or another variant) at the Chicago date.

I loved Cinematographic, I thought it was a great follow up. Bummed i missed this band on tour. I wish they would get back together.
A friend of mine who is pretty close with a couple members said they practiced a few times in late 2012/early 2013 and had tentative plans to release another album, but obviously nothing came of it.
-
Mine too. So underrated it's crazy. Only problem is that if it were ever pressed it wouldn't sale, So i don't see it happening. I need it though
I think Wide Eyed and maybe The Great Compromise would sell decently well, but I'm also from their area, and they were wildly popular around here in their heyday. Nearly everyone I know who was going to shows and involved in our music scene at the time cites Wide Eyed as a landmark album, so I probably have an inflated sense of how a vinyl pressing would go.
Most of those same people disliked Cinematographic, which is a shame. It's not Wide Eyed, but it's almost as good.

All three Junior Varsity albums, one of the best bands ever to be.
If i had to choose though it would be Wide Eyed.
One of my all time favorite albums.
-
I recently learned that "1985" by Bowling For Soup was a cover.
-
What were you expecting, another LP?
This is an awesome thing for them to do, especially since long delays hardly phase me anymore.
-
Got my stuff from the free case break today!
If anyone's looking for the Aspiga/Broadcaster split, I'd gladly trade one of mine (I have red and black) for Such Gold/Placeholder and/or Banquets/Podacter.
-
It reminds me of Folie a Deux. Not particularly the exact sound but the direction of that album.
I've said for years that "Why Can't We Start Old and Get Younger" reminds me of Fall Out Boy, so I'm interested in this comparison.
Last album, hoping they go out sounding everything like pre-Gospel.....that tooth song single handedly made the album unbearable
"Teeth" is possibly my favorite Fireworks song.
-
I really hope there are still copies of that Daytrotter split left at the Chicago date. I kind of doubt there will be though, since it's the very end of the tour.
-
Snagged the Aspiga/Broadcaster stuff for the free break! I'll try tune in to the stream tonight.
-
I'm reviewing it for Under the Gun, so I got a press advance.Wait, how do you know this? They don't send out the download for another week, do they?
-
Interested to see how this turns out. I contributed last year and should have a record showing up in the next couple of weeks. Hoping I dig it as much as their last album (would love to have that on wax)... wasn't 100% pleased with their preview EP, but we'll just have to see.
Don't worry too much. I didn't like the preview EP either, but those are the worst songs on the album.

Picked up a silver and the new You Blew It! album. First order from the new Topshelf store, and it works so well.
-
Nailed it.
I'm probably the only person who thinks It Gets Better is a super fun and great track. As is everything on the album.
"It Gets Better" really threw me at first, but the lyrics and melody are so good that I love it now.

My jacket was fine, but my record skips a bunch at the beginning of "All Ages Shows." Sort of a bummer, since that's my favorite BTMI song, but I can deal.
