  1. Rocksteady, take a second and ponder this simple question: "What the hell does my post have to do with Kanye West and/or Graduation?"
  2. come see how kewl my vinylz are http://instagram.com/scanlonchris
  3. The world air guitar champion has a 7" with no grooves. But seriously. Quit crapping up the board with these.
  4. Just logged my first VC run in Endmondo. Nice app. Never checked the elevation of my route before so that was cool. Hopefully more people join as the year goes along. It's a party for two ATM.
  5. Hahah yeah I wanted to look it up. I have a list of places I'd like to run and it sounded worthy. Also making sure there weren't any dormant volcanoes in Maryland I was unaware of. Haven't looked at halfs yet. I signed up for a few 5k's that I'm overqualified for coming up in April but that's it.
  6. Damn! That's a tight schedule for running a half. Where was it at? I've never run more than 12 miles consecutively since I started. Hope to do my first half this year.
  7. Was playing around with the app and figured out how to add you as a friend and see your activity. You did 13 miles in 2:05 last year? Looks to me like you can run pretty well! Just gotta stay consistent and do a few miles every day and you'll be racking them up like nothing.
  8. What shoes do you wear now? Also congratulations on losing a bunch of weight. How much did you drop?
  9. I have 115 miles logged already in 2014. I just don't want to crush anyone's competitive spirit, haha.
  10. Alright, I'm in! Gonna start off at zero even though I have mileage logged. More fair for people just starting now.
  11. Never used Endomondo but I'm down for a VC challenge. Sounds pretty sweet. Just signed up through Facebook(christopher scanlon) and clicked the challenge link but it says "access denied." Little help?
  12. Anyone have any go-to places for deals on gear/accessories? Checked Walmart for dri-fit tees and they have Starter Dri-star t-shirts for $6.47. Great deal and no ugly logos crapping it up. Bunch of colors, too. Same shirt from Nike, Adidas, or UnderArmour is $20-25.
  13. I started running in the road when sidewalks get messy. May not be an option everywhere but drivers are more respectful than I would've guessed.
  14. Never tried to change my strike but I've learned to bend my knees to lighten my steps/prevent knee pain. Also cut out minimalist styled shoes from my rotation. Vibram five fingers and minimalist trainers(nike free) did me more harm than good.
  15. I have to experience the climate change firsthand to be able to handle cold temps. In the past I would stop when the weather hit 50 degrees and try to go back out when it's 20 and it was like pulling teeth. This year I kept up my weekly runs and I've been out in as low as 3 degrees with no injuries or negative side effects. Got a couple new pairs of shoes on the way. I'm a heavy heel striker and decided to get some shoes geared toward that for the first time. Mizuno Wave Precision 13 Asics Gel Nimbus 14
  16. No lasting effect on lung capacity, but it can be a great tool for determining an appropriate pace during training. IE run 2 miles in casual conversation(warm up pace) 4 miles able to talk in short bursts(moderate to difficult pace) and 1 mile focusing on breathing(full sprint).
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cd4g1gMRceY new entry with Ian from Modern Baseball
  18. If you're gonna go through the trouble of putting RJ's business out in the open tell us the juicy parts of what happened with TOYPAJ
  19. Yeah, that nagged the heck out of me back when I wore my basic apple earbuds. I'd always be adjusting them and feeling them about to fall out. Takes away from your concentration and breathing
  20. Failing to see where the shitstorm begins. Most people who have these are Brand New diehards or misers who want top dollar. How does this change that? EDIT: In your case Ryan, you probably would have chosen a different variant for the raffle. But with the new press, I just don't see this changing the demand/prices much.
  21. This x1000. Running is my way of clearing away stress and it works so, so well. Picked it up in 2011 from my roommate who is a fitness-head. I run about 25 miles a week, currently at 8:30/mile pace(hilly terrain). Headphones: http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/headphones/audio_headphones/in_ear_headphones/index.jsp sound quality is top notch, but the real sell is these things NEVER fall out. price is high for my taste but I asked for these as gift. Tracker: http://nikeplus.nike.com/plus/products/sport_watch/ nice looking watch overall. i wear it as my everyday. it saves all your runs/times and gives you interval times if you set them. has deeper nike+ functions too if you sync to your computer but i never bothered to mess with it.
  22. Record where the preorder was so long you forgot you ordered it until it showed up. Record you overpaid lazylab for because you were too naive to know better
