  1. I thought they did well mixing up everything. On Summer Slaughter they jam pack a lot of bands, so you're gonna get a short set list. They opened with some old school Disconnecktie, then a taste of Meridional with Anthem Of Angry Brides, I forget the rest by heart, but I think the only album left out was Anti Mother? I believe Dilemmachine, Small Spark vs Great Forest, Got It At 5, of course Memphis, Creating Something Out Of Nothing, if anything, the highest count was off Bless The Martyr. Not saying they don't dabble, but the last thing I think of when I listen to Norma Jean is the trendy break down bass drop scene, except when I'm doing the waltz with my murderer. There are bands out there who write their entire albums around breakdowns and what's trending, I don't think Norma Jean is one of them. Rough night, huh? Everybody was kung-fu fighting? I dislike the karate kids myself. I've come to acceptance with them just because I know when I see them and think "What, are they doing?", I know most civilized society thinks the same of me when I'm slam or circle pitting & crowd surfing & such. I've just witnessed such a higher amount of disrespect from the softcore dancefloor kids, who carelessly punch and kick (literally) all kinds of people around them with no regard or remorse. Standard moshers don't usually go after anyone not pitting. Of course there can always be the exceptional drunken asshole...
  2. So I wonder what the # count is on the white variants if most places are dishing out black while merchnow seems to be the only place that sells white. I see they still have the variant posted for sale, even though it's still listed as "pre-order exclusive".
  3. Would like to discuss this. I'm a big live show geek, a concert goer before a vinyl collector. What was the crowd like? I find so often that a live show has more to do with the people watching it, than the people up on stage performing. Specifically I'm talking about in modern rock, be it any genre of metal, punk, whatever. Don't get me wrong, those on stage are absolutely the ones giving a presentation of their art, and are responsible for influencing the spark that ignites the excitement in the crowd. I'm not trying to let them off the hook by any means. That said, was everyone standing there with their arms crossed wearing a scowl on their mug? If you have a venue full of folks not scared to let go of inhibitions & smash their neighbor & run around in a circle, crowd surf, a live show like Norma Jean has the potential to go from 0 to 60 as soon as they start playing, every time they play. But if everyone's standing there with their hands in their pockets, you might as well be watching the DVD at home. Not to mention the band gets way more into it when they've got a crowd full of people participating. Though I know moshing isn't for everyone. But you at least get what I'm saying. I've been at shows where it isn't extremely fun or exciting & it's because the people in the crowd suck & are being defiant, while the band is doing just fine on stage. Or maybe they're just standing their holding up their iPhone recording. You're seeing this LIVE-WHY are you filming this?? I have nothing against a picture or two but put it away. Leave it in the car. "I'm here seeing this in person, but I'm gonna film it-and watch it later on my laptop!"
  4. It is, perfect, thank you! By far the best quality version I've been able to find so far.
  5. Any updates on when the For Those Who Have Heart & What Seperates Me From You exclusives will be available on ht.com? Unless I was looking in the wrong place, it's looking like Homesick & Old Record are both sold out. Also, a little off topic Travis, but do you by chance know what color Hot Topic's versions of Norma Jean's Wrongdoers are?
  6. So Best Buy has different mystery colors. Clear and black/white splatter. What else is floating around out there? Anyone get one from Amazon?
  7. Yeah, you punks snake them all up while I'm checking out. Was able to add it to my cart, but by the time I finalized purchase: denied.
  8. I'm not huge on Story So Far (I think I would be if I listened to their studio albums more...only time I hear them is live, they're always at shows I go to), but I'd choose I full standard TSSF set over an acoustic set by any band.
  9. Just wanna mention Norma Jean killed it tonight at the Cabooze in Minneapolis. One of my favorite Norma Jean crowds I've been in. Which I attribute to an actual slam pit (mosh pit, I steal the term "slam pit" from The Offspring), which was fun & active all night. Crowd jumpin', crowd surfers, it was a good time. At many of Norma Jean's shows, they're playing with a bunch of hardcore bands so the venue is packed full of softcore dancefloor kids. Then when Norma Jean comes on (much like Every Time I Die) it causes crowd confusion I think, because they're not quite long hair head banger metal enough to garner full on head to head slam pits, yet not breakdown-heavy/trendy enough to keep the dancefloor kids doing their kung fu. "Rough night, huh?? Everybody's Kung Fu fighting!" Each ETID & Norma Jean are in more of a wild party zone grey area where you never know what you're gonna get. I also find it funny seeing these awesome Christian metalers touring with so many pro-Satan bands. (They were also the only Christian band on Mayhem a couple years back) I heard at least 2-3 other bands tonight talking either anti-God or pro-Satan. Also worth noting Wrongdoers will debut at #37 on Billboard's top 200. (#3 hard music, #3 vinyl. #7 rock)
  10. I listened through the first 11 tracks or so tonight, and really enjoyed it. Was thinking to myself But, to each his own. Sometimes people talk something up SO much that it's almost a let down regardless of what it is, maybe this had the opposite effect after reading a couple disgruntled reviews on here & I think iTunes had a couple as well. I like it so much I hate the original now. Just kidding, but I think they did a great job. Hopefully I can find the means to make it out of state to catch the tour, though I'm still indifferent about a majority acoustic set...
  11. Yeah it was a long grueling process for me too, but it's all said & done now, and all is well. Maybe read through it slower, idk.
  12. I have yet to spin this, but I can't believe it's that big of a let down after I very much enjoyed the acoustic When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes album? I guess I'll have to check back in later on... Any word from anyone else on the Amazon pre-order? Is everyone's copies white??
  13. I attend shows of many different genres, from the heaviest of metal, to the poppiest of punk, everything in bewteen, and New Found Glory ranks at the top of my charts for most fun live shows. I'd have to sum it all up with the word energy. Such fun energy on stage, and it reflects into the crowd. They Kill It Live.
  14. The new Motion City song is called Inside Out, they mentioned before playing it tonight that it'd be on the new album they're working on, or "album #6" I believe they said, so I don't think that'll be a part of this rerelease, but rather a near future full length album. I'd like to reiterate how good the song is though, just heard it for the second time tonight, I recommend checking it out. Lots of energy, a real fun track. Not sure if or where it's available, maybe some Warped Tour videos captured it, I don't think it's on iTunes or anything yet.
  15. On my iTunes I added the Shark Bite download as the intro, and the Family Bike Wreck bonus as the closer. Did those two end up being the only extras? Well, along with the "making of" documentary on iTunes. I was anticipating hunting down 4 different versions at 4 different stores (or in 4 different places rather), like I did with Meridional. I've still got a lot of listens through to go, and some lyric reading to do as I listen through when I get a physical copy of the CD. Fun stuff, can't wait till Summer Slaughter passes through here next week.
  16. I haven't heard what they're doing with their drummer situation? Did they make the guy in the video permanent? I certainly hope so, guy rocks live & seems to have been affiliated with the band for a while. I remember him filling in when the other drummer couldn't play during a show in like 2010 or so. Why bring in anyone else? Anyone else attend Warped this year & catch their set? They played 1 new song (possibly featured as a bonus track with this?), though they seemed to indicate a new LP, but who knows. But that new track was fucking awesome. Not saying there was any MCS release I haven't enjoyed, but this new song eclipsed...just about everything almost. Such fun energy. I'm not sure if it's the new drummer guy bringing it to the table, but I hope the direction they went with this new song isn't a path they stray too far from for a while. I'm excited as hell for the next step of Motion City Soundtrack. And I get to see them for free this weekend. They're from the Twin Cities in Minnesota and a local (I think) popular pizza shop Pizza Luce is hosting a free block party downtown Minneapolis August 10th that Motion is headlining. Killer local metal band After The Burial also plays, along with an array of other types of music throughout the day. If anyone on the board in the area, gonna be a fun time no doubt, and free of charge.
  17. It seems as though the only way we're going to get this answer is when one of you who have ordered from there receives it & reports back. One question I had, is on their website, the white variant is advertised as "pre-order only". This can't be true, can it? Cause how would that work, wait until the release day, and then press however many were pre-ordered? If they're pressed ahead of time, but selling them only in the pre-order, what would they do with all the rest that didn't sell?
  18. I don't think I've heard a negative word spoken about Wrongdoers.
  19. http://www.ebay.com/itm/YELLOWCARD-LIGHTS-AND-SOUNDS-FULL-2-x-7-LIMITED-EDITION-SET-YELLOW-WHITE-/380691226635?pt=UK_Records&hash=item58a2f7200b#ht_1083wt_1162 There ya go, Mac.
  20. Looking for the last piece of the Parkway Drive variant collection, which is Atlas on grey. If anybody has a copy, send me, verb1999 a PM or leave a reply. Have cash to offer, or a few things to trade possibly, but not much, nor do I have anything too crazy rare. But, if you're willing to part with yours, I think we can work something out one way or another. Thanks! Cheers, mates.
