I'm so pissed I'm going to end up getting the second press without the surface noise, even though I already have the first press.

I've always had a passing liking of this band, but this record is easily their best work. I don't understand how they craft such interesting songs with the use of simple melodies.

That song sounds a lot like Dookie or Insomniac era Green Day to me. Not a bad thing in my book at all.

Wasn't too crazy about the first two songs they released, but now hearing the album as a whole, holy shit, this is fucking better than I could have wished.

My first was an original pressing of Weezer's Pinkerton.

I've tried so hard to get into The World Is A Beautiful Place... but I just can't. Everyone said they were amazing live, so I thought maybe seeing them open for IIOI would change my mind. It didn't, they are a terrible band. As noted above, the spoken word stuff was embarrassing, the songs just meander and never really go anywhere for me. There are moments of brilliance, but they are never fully realized. I just don't get why everyone loses their shit over this band.

You Fail Me. If I was paying more attention in the initial round I would have gone with Hum - You'd Prefer An Astronaut instead of You Fail Me. Now, I'm glad I didn't.

While I'm a fan of Doug Stanhope, he does not understand how rape jokes are different from diabetes jokes. Tosh straight up said it would be funny if this woman was gang raped by five dudes, in that moment. That is not funny at all. Threatening sexual violence on someone, regardless of context, is simply not okay. The problem with rape jokes is not that they push boundaries, but that they hold up a violent male hegemony, which is focused on maintaining male power over women. This effectively keeps women subject to male control.
