PO NOW: Braid - No Coast (Topshelf)
Tom Delonge's UFO replied to gmoney's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
After hearing these first two songs, I'm bummed that I didn't order right away. I was so put off by that 4 song ep they put out a couple of years ago that I was hesitant about the full-length. -
I have my order in for Dude Ranch, I can finally leave this god awful thread. I don't really give a shit about any edits, or surface noise, or inner groove distortion, I'll find out on my own when I get the record. Here's to this thread dying a terrible death.

No, I wish they would do a standard pressing as well, because as of now I'm passing.

Thanks, I was able to get a blue! -
I agree completely that Fat hasn't really deviated and Epitaph has put out some complete shit. When I was in high school (in the late 90s) both Epitaph and Fat both churned out the best bands. Now, it seems that Epitaph will recognize when a band is on the verge of blowing up and catapult them to that next level. Fat seems to be subsisting just below that. Maybe, I'm off base, but that's where the comparison comes from in my view.

This definitely took a few listens for me to start wading through the sameness. After I got over it, I realized that this will probably be in my top ten for the year. I haven't been a huge MO fan in the past either.

Jimmy Eat World Vinyl Reissues
Tom Delonge's UFO replied to sunsmellsloud's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
This thread made me revisit Futures. It's a pretty great album. I could probably go with out the slower songs, but all in all I really think it holds up well to their best material. I haven't heard anything besides the singles that came out after this record, worth checking out? -
PO Three Man Cannon - Pretty Many People
Tom Delonge's UFO replied to dantheriver's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I remember Silver Scooter. I was introduced to them from the (Don't Forget To) Breathe comp when I was 16. So many good bands on there. -
Sorry for the bump, but has it taken a few week for anyone else to get their record? I ordered this on May 3rd, said it was shipped on the 12th, but have not received any tracking info.

I don't mean for this to start a "which label is better" (although, I do recognize I'm on the Internet), but it just seems like Epitaph has been getting the best bands. From Propagandhi, The Menzingers, The Lawrence Arms, and now Joyce Manor. Fat definitely has its current active standouts like Masked Intruder, Bad Cop Bad Cop, Strung Out, and Banner Pilot, but don't have the same energy they used to. I also realize that Epitaph puts out ALOT of shit, but it's fairly easy to ignore that nonsense. What do you think? Am I totally off base? Would love to hear what everyone thinks.
