All that being said, is the band completely oblivious to something that seems so obvious to fans?? bring back the original lineup and do things the way they were done originally. i would LOVE a new OLP album that has the magic of the first 4. But maybe there's now some bitterness with Mike and Jeremy now that they were given das boot. :/

i did notice that only the opaque blue is listed on discogs but in the review section someone said the one they got was black. i honestly hope i get a black one, standard black to me is always a safe bet for little to no SQ issues. in contrast, i will avoid an opaque white record like the plague. have had nothing but bad experiences with opaque white surface noise mostly.

I keep thinking about my experience with shitbag with the NIN releases and about how i had ordered The Fragile Deviations and chose the fed-ex premier holy shit overnight delivery and then it didn't show up. Then like a week later shitbag tells me that fedex must've lost my order and that they were sending my replacement dhl ground because it was trackable. they said that fedex overnight isn't trackable (which i still have a hard time believing). it crossed my mind when i placed my order in the "first round" with alchemy to just go with dhl ground to avoid a possibility that fedex 2-day was also going to be untrackable, but ultimately went with the 2-day out of desire to get this damn record into my hands asap.

My order only came out to like $35 USD shipped from amazon.ca, i expected the shipping cost to be much more than it was. To me, $35 is worth every penny for this album.

Maybe I need to do more listening. I'll give both of those another shot, I'm always up for falling in love with a new album, especially PT!

Am i reading this right? you both ordered from the pre-order for the "we fucked up and the distro company put it up too early" repress and have already gotten shipping confirmation? As if to say you're being given a record out of the initial batch of records? if that's true, that seems odd to me.

Exactly, glad i'm not the only one that hears it. Although it seems with the most recent albums it's almost like they decided "hey... so poppy overly-produced slop doesn't seem to be moving us forward, maybe we should get back to the roots" (i feel like i'm referring to the most recent album, Curve), but in doing so, they just can't seem to capture the same magic they had with those first 4 albums.

I certainly hope Happiness... gets some love soon. Fantastic album.

Gravity just sounded like a departure from the sound/style that made them so great in their previous albums and to me just sounded a bit like bubblegum rock. There are a handful of tracks on it that are pretty good though, poppy and overly produced as they might be. And i really tried hard to get into all the albums that came after and just found myself utterly bored. meh, oh well. Was not aware that Gravity got a recent pressing, hope you find it for a reasonable price.

Am i alone in thinking that Porcupine Tree is the best music to come out of England since the Beatles (perhaps an apples and oranges comparison to start with)? I've been on a PT listening kick ever since word came out about these reissues. The first album i ever heard of theirs was FOABP maybe 10 years ago whenever it came out and a friend turned me on to it, then i got into Deadwing and In Absentia. I tried to get into the earlier stuff (the releases from the 90s) and couldn't. Maybe because i was introduced initially to their "heavier" stuff? Not sure. But anyways, FOABP, Deadwing and In Absentia all kick ass, super pumped to add these 2 albums to my collection!

Happiness... and Spiritual Machines needs to be pressed yesterday, both spectacular albums imo alongside Clumsy and Naveed. Gravity is when i started to get lost on the band, haven't really liked anything they've put out since.

Coming from Shitbag's customer service team, it's not worth a whole hell of a lot. I won't believe anybody's has shipped until people start posting pictures of the album in their clutches. And i'm PRAYING that they pack these better than they packed the NIN releases. I'm going to be pissed af if mine shows up mangled as a result of an obviously shitty job packing it.

Just got an email from Amazon saying they can't fulfill the pre-order i put in for this due to lack of availability. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me through Amazon. It was in the back of my mind when i put in my order but thought maybe that first time was just a fluke. Bogus deal. Can't seem to find it authentically "available" from any place in the US. Bullmoose says it's not available, Acoustic Sounds still has PO up with arrival date TBA. Hmmmm... maybe we just need to wait for some copies to make it to the US?
