I have bootlegs of Temple of the Dog and Blackstar.  I think both are just fine.  Neither are anything to write home about audibly, but they both also sound better than a number of records I have purchased that were legitimate releases.
 
I can also say that the Tool- Aenima bootleg on orange vinyl sounds phenomenal. It's all hit and miss, depending on the source and mastering, but that's no different than any other release, bootleg or not.
