Old Old thread I know, but I just gave a good listen to this and I think its a great (bad) example of how the 'loudness war', or just a bad mastering can really fuck up music! Everything on this is cranked to the max, NO dynamics, just in your face everything. I could hardly get through one side (side 2 of record 1), before I was ready to turn this into a frisbee and put on some nature sounds to repair my throbbing ears. A real shame, because this is a great album, great quality packaging/vinyl, and the songs have so much texture! It could be amazing. I'm really disappointed and wanted to come on here and rant about how bad this is, compared to how good it SHOULD be considering I know a lot of detail and thought went into the construction and recording of the songs.... also I wonder if anybody else feels the same way!?

absolutely perfect!! Tried a couple of variations of Papir, but thinking more of the German spelling, never quite hit it..... next time I am IN Norway, I'll pick up a little something extra! Thanks!

my buddy was playing me some stoner rock snippets the other day, then mixed in was something that was more atmospheric and psychedelic, not at all heavy or distorted... ...anyway, I thought he said (with his German accent) they were called Vampire (Vampeer) but then asked a few more times and it sounded like he was saying Papier (pahpeer)... then we laughed and moved on, and that was that... but now I am really wondering what it was because I kind of liked it... anybody know any instrumental (or i guess vocals could have came after the 3 minutes he played) bands that sound like these names?? - yea, that sounds ridiculous, (and yes i asked him, but we were a bit out of heads and he does not remember) but I really am seriously wondering about this.

i almost sold my Failure - Fantastic Planet earlier in the year when there was that run where they were going between 300 and 450 a pop... sometimes I wonder why I didn't, on the other hand about a year ago, I talked a guy down to 15 euros for a copy of it, along with another record... THAT guy should be in this thread I also wonder why I haven't sold my Trainspotting OST considering what I could get for it... but I generally dont sell records unless really desperate... sold my half my Ween collection, but I either had doubles or the re-issues, so that softens the sting of lossing original Mollusk and !2GCG... Wish I hadn't sold Pearl Jams Lost Dogs / Glad I sold Your Favorite Weapon (I only care about De Ja...)

a couple of people on here did not/apparently still do not, understand the saying 'famous last words' In a thread talking about RSD and how easy it was to come by a certain release previously, they therefor assumed in the future it will be just as easy to come by a certain limited pressing on RSD. I simply said: Famous Last Words. Bunched panties ensused over not understanding, and continuing to not understand what the phrase implies. The fact I still post here on occasion is also kind of d'oh sometimes...
