  1. tru dat. The secondary sellers were locked into something like $3.99 shipping, then with the higher Euro value, things would come out to 7 -8 euros or more cheaper than anywhere else. I never had any problems with overseas shipping. One record arrived a bit warped, but playable, but I can't say that was from shipping. Anyway, getting deals on vinyl is probably the last thing to be worrying about regarding the dropping Euro (and it's not like the reason it's dropping is because the dollar is doing so great), but it still sucks!
  2. A scholar and gentleman! I bought it because I know he cares! I mean, he'll probably end up giving it to me for cost or less considering his sincere concern it goes to a true fan over the big return on his flipvestment from the inevitable high bid it took me to get it!!!
  3. more Doug: I began questioning the point of the writer guy towards the end, and I still kind of do, but maybe he'll play out more next season. Right now he just kind of seemed to be the catalyst for Clare at the end... and I don't think she needed him to push her considering how she got pretty routed this season on her own, and politically. I guess I admit, I am still looking forward to the next season even though its gotten progressively worse in many ways....
  4. found this season just ok, like the last... enough moments to keep me hanging on and into it, just not loving it like the firts season.... of the many things that annoyed me, one that really stuck out, probably because it was at the end:
  5. i bought something from dodax off amazon several months ago and the last couple months I have been getting regular emails that say 'dodax-your order...' which is basically a news letter..... I wish I could go back to amazon and leave a negative feedback for spamming me that shit without me signing up for it.
  6. There should be more groups of big tittie bitches on album covers of major releases!!!
  7. I dread when my ipod classic goes out. I'm on second one that is coming up on four years. My first one lasted about that long. I admit it IS overkill, that I want something that holds what the classic does, but I like having the options there. There are a few tracks I that havent been played more than a couple of times, but they are there if I want them!! II do not want to weigh down my phone with mp3's, I want that space for apps and other things, so a dedicated mp3 with high storage is what I am after.... I hope something comparable to the Ipod classic is readily available when the time comes, or the crazy prices the used ones are going for now drops. I honestly haven't done much looking because I am ok for now, but would also be interested in what other people use/recommend with comparable storage and ease of use...
  8. Wait, so this was limited besides the 200 with the print? Says the LP says sold out ...also, whoever said they weren't that into his last two, should give Kiss Each Other Clean another shot, it really is great. Ghost in Ghost doesn't quite live up to it, but it's still ok.... anyway, .....WTF! I hope there are more of this one available on vinyl!!
  9. we ordered up some Chinese in excitement to watch the return... then as we sat down, we contemplated what 30 minute sitcom we could watch while we ate. something light to start off with, then start Walking Dead.... since we had nothing, we were like, OK, let's just start it.... Holy F*^* those first scenes were "a whole 'nother level!!" My stomach turned immediately once those Terminus guys got to work! ;p
  10. If I was accused of shill bidding and was presented with the details of why you think I had done so, I would first look into the accusation, then explain WHY the accusations are false. I don't think I would go so aggressive in return considering your email was very civil... and of course since it appears they are lurking around here in the shadows and can see that you were also pretty rational in your concern on here (much more than some of us, including me who is rooting for ROBO-CALLS to the store IN SUPPORT OF PALIN 2016 ). Personally I think they come off as suspicious in the whole deal. But at this point, you might as well just forget about it and watch out for the next copy to come along.
  11. i would do that. also, I would just immediately leave negative feedback saying they were shill bidding. granted I would have to be very sure of it, and this does seem to be a strong case for them shill bidding based on what you found. maybe you take a chance of them returning a negative (i haven't ebayed in awhile, but seem to have read rule changes on what buyer/sellers can leave for feedback), but I'd probably still do it. I won a copy of a record for VERY cheap (a $60+ record for $8) a while back, and the person never replied or sent the record for months. a week later another account with next to no feedback had the record up for sale from the same location, and granted I didn't have exact proof it was the same, after a few weeks when both auctions where over and no record/no contact, I left negative feedback saying they re-auctioned it because it sold so low. They didn't ding me back, but replied to my negative on their feedback page saying basically 'prove it'. I did receive the record almost 2 months later after leaving the feedback. It was all kind of weird, but my point is, I felt scammed, so I left the negative anyway. In the end I suspect they eventually found another copy and sent it to me... I think you've been scammed, and should do the same... of course also contact ebay... or maybe even contact ebay first. But paying double for something because of shill bidding, is not something to roll over for just because you were willing to put that high of a bid in. ....the mischievous part of me wants to see record store contacted directly ;p
  12. well, this was obviously coming... I got an original off Ebay. de a year or so ago for 12 euros. I really think if people had a bit of patience, and kept an eye out on the various online markets and in regular second hand shops, they could still find an original for half to a third of what this mov release will cost. ... of course if you MUST have a new super rare red vinyl version, here you go.... I really like Piece of Cake, maybe not as strong as their first Sub Pop albums, and in their biography the band wasn't to pleased with the results do to time and headspace, but there are some classic Mudhoney songs on here... ...but I guess by saying I even like the weird interludes on this one tells you my feelings on Mudhoney and why I still think this is a classic must have Mudhoney album. All the songs mentioned on the mov page are great songs, plus Make It Now has some great classic guitar interplay! The others my not jump out right away, but they are solid rock songs. It's just funny that when Sup Pop reissues their vinyl they are in the 10 - 12 dollar range... Including color vinyl, high quality, packaging, and even a poster sometimes. This will have what, maybe a slightly heavier jacket, plain white inner, and slab of vinyl for 3x's as much.... oh well...
  13. so, do they have Airport prices on everything or Sub Pop prices on everything (by SP prices I mean, they are often pretty good at keeping their prices lower than most other big indie and major labels)... I imagine renting retail space in an airport isn't cheap...
  14. which The Visitor are you talking about? 1979? 2007? - both could have pretty cool soundtracks, albeit very different ones.
  15. Anybody have good tips on sites/forums/etc...that are good for downloading ebooks. I'm thinking of like Novels or other books that might be a bit obscure/out of print, or not readily available other than what people are sharing... most the forums I use for tv/movies/music have ebook sections, but they are less used, so looking for any place to find some .pdfs of books/magaizines and so forth. thanks
  16. The Firetheft > SDRE The Firemen > BEatles Volcano Choir > Bon Iver
  17. I was sure Le Voyage Dans La Lune was limited and sold out (both, not just the deluxe version)... could it have been reprinted? This is expensive for 4 songs, granted the packaging seems deluxe.. still had to pick it up to keep my collection current and complete ('ísh, save that last two DELUXE version of their Vinyl Factory releases)
  18. For the occasional white paper'ish looking bits that seem to be stuck in the vinyl I find tweezers work the best to pick them off.
  19. I have a brush like the one above, it seems to me, it just pulling all the dust to the edge of the record and when I swipe it off, it flips the dust to the other side... this is when I am holding the record before placing on the tt... of course I also run it over the record with it spinning on the platter before I put the needle down in which case at least the dust is away from the playing side if it flips it to the backside.. static I supposed, but I though those were supposed to be anti-static brushes.... I have a question though, I thought I ordered a MOFI brush, with the fine/velvety looking brush pads... turns out I ordered replacement pads, which fortunately are sticky backed, so I stuck one of them to the silver backed part of the above mentioned brush, which is perfectly curved to run across the record like any regular brush... these REALLY suck up the dust, but my question is, what is the best way to then remove that dust from the pads? is wiping them on a towel, or even my shirt harmful? What about using a damp cloth on them? Pulled the Beatles BBC which I had not played in years and the dust left on the MOFI pad was VERY visible... I just kind of swiped the pad along my pant leg between wipes to get rid of the accumulated dust.
  20. just gave the first run through since it (III) came this afternoon. I really had to pull the highs down on the e.q., but other than that it sounds pretty good upon a first listen. Nothing mind blowing... maybe a little more detail in how the first songs are threaded together. I might have a different opinion upon another play-through tomorrow when I can more objectively (and not excitedly) listen..
  21. got a shipping notification yesterday (amazon . de) for Zep III (as of now this and Houses of the Holy are the only ones I am planning on getting). Hoping it will arrive today instead of Friday (tomorrow which would be when it's expected is a German holiday)... it's unlikely, but would be pretty awesome if it shows up today... can't wait to hear if this lives up to (my) expectations... also really excited to be replacing the g+ originals I have from parents old collection.
  22. Judy sounds like a Total DikSchlap!
  23. Bummer, save the first two non-music tracks, this album is really catchy! It took me several play throughs on the cd before it really hit me, but once it did I played it to death.
