  1. Arg. Plaid room didn't go through on Marcy Playground after in my cart and clicking the PayPal button. All pretty much instantaneously... So fast!!! Crazy!!
  2. Darkside of the Moon Simon Lomas Revi Rating: 6/10
  3. too bad to hear about sound issues. It's obvious that Radiohead care/know what they are doing as they have spread the release over four sides, so a really bummer there pressing issues. Mine is bought in Germany from JPC, and therefore, as expected pressed at Optimal (damb, these were the hardest to read run-out grooves I've seen!!) It sounds perfect. Dead quiet in the right places and full and rich. Sounds like its the age old (last several years at least) issue of which pressing plant was used. The U.S. using Rainbo -vs- Europe using (judging by audiophile discussions) the superior Optimal. This is too bad.... but just look at any audiophile discussion and you'll see the difference in these pressing plants reputations!!
  4. Received mine from Amazon de on Friday. I noticed right away that 'Close I've Come' has the *fucking* edited out... I was quite surprised (and a bit annoyed) because my cd and different downloaded versions I've heard aren't edited! Other than that, mines great. Dead quiet.
  5. Only the first (so many hundred)thousand(s)? Had numbers on them (if you mean embossed on the front cover) After that they were not numbered. I'm pretty sure it's possible you could have an original 1968 issue that is not numbered...certainly any other late 60's to today issues will not be numbered. There are TONS of copies of the white album out there, only the very first issues have the embossed numbers other cover (though this is also a lot of issues) If you mean like pressing information (catalog #) then discogs, as was mentioned.
  6. Brilliant! LOVE this sndtrck! I have green promo and have been considering buying a regular edition from a local shop. Might have to wait on that now that there is a re-issue. I can't recommend this enough!
  7. well, Side-A is pretty much the music from the video above at about 13 + minutes, and Side-B is a slight variation on it that falls back into the repeated 'once again.....' refrain and ends on the build up and blast like Side-A does, This is also lasting about 13 + minutes and may just be a remix, but it also feels like the group is all together in one big room for parts of it. I started to type a couple things I don't like about the B-side, but I won't spoil it... Packaging is of course good. But the insert with all the 'words' is also in that fold out style of the cover, which is kind of a bother... but, ya... I really love this music, but it is short!
  8. Damn! I only had the 1 day shipping option (to Germany) when I ordered!
  9. good to know... I'm hopping its in the +/- 20 minutes of (unique) music on each side, which I would guess it must be. It'll be here by Monday already (the result of that DHL 1 day shipping being the only option!!!!!), and I'll report back about whats on it.
  10. i bought this and then had a little regret... shipping was insane, plus the strong GBP... but, it shipped really quick, so I guess that's that, not turning back. It is a nice package, and Vinyl Factory does really great stuff, so I guess once the initial 'why the f*** did i spend so much' feeling passes, I'll be happy with it.... love the music from the installation clips I've seen... but, also, did I just pay all that for 16 minutes of music?? (that's about the length of the video's Ive seen)
  11. Carol just got broken... she's going to have to grow her beard and hair out and start mumbling 'caarrl'
  12. nobody is trying to stop people from talking about Negan, don't create that stance to try to prove you points. and not body is trying to prevent you discussing or speculating what will happen in the future, so don't create that point to say you're being limited or restricted. It's common courtesy to put those things in spoilers, that's no hindrance to what you or anyone talks about. Fact is there are several plot-lines following the comic that have not happened yet on the show. Will they unfold the same? Maybe, maybe not, but it most certainly seems they are... so why do you wish to spoil that for people that are watching the show 'through virgin eyes'? you're not special for having read the comics, but you're acting superior in your right to show it off. spoiler tags -get into it.
  13. those of you speculating what will happen based on the comics ARE spoiling for those that haven't read it. You have some insight about what is going to happen with Negan that others do not. You don't have the unknown, completely wide open story possibilities that non-readers have. You take that away by openly guessing who's going to be the one to bite it. I know the story line, if I did speculate while we watched or later, it would spoil the wide open possibilities my wife sees in the story and focus her on specifics she would, and should have no way of knowing about yet. Just seems shitty not to be putting anything related to something that hasn't happened on the show yet into spoilers...
  14. yea, or how about when they just shove a copy of the cd booklet into the vinyl sleeve instead of creating a vinyl sized booklet! for me it really IS a bummer when you open a record and there is just the vinyl in a white inner and nothing else! I want linear notes and art!! I like reading who wrote and played what, who worked on the album, any extra notes and writings, and seeing images and artwork related to the package as a whole... always a bonus when albums have this included
  15. Between a buddy and I we A/B'd the two and they both sound pretty great. No discernible differences. These are EU pressings.
  16. I'll take the hit for posting this..... These ARE NOT variants to be worried about! Everybody has a collector mentality and its dumb... Since the beginning albums have had to be repressed due to demand, and/or just the sheer amount they pressed had to be done in waves. Look at any other Bowie album though out his career...granted some may be better quality than others when you take into account the questionable 'remasters' they push out now, or old budget line presses... but are people really so concerned whether their copy of Hunky Dory came out in March of '71 or five months later in August of '71 or February of '72? No, because they are virtually indistinguishable save maybe some 'number' somewhere on it. Just like Blackstar now, if you give a fuck whether you're copy was printed 7 months ago, or 3 weeks ago with differences you'd have to search over the entire release with a magnifying glass and use scale to find. You suck. This album will be in print for some time now, which is good... that matters, not a couple numbers on the cover or record label!
  17. some of it may be because people are willing to pay it... but for this in particular I am thinking higher production costs, you can read what they have said about the re-mastering of it, which may also include studio time, and the high quality style cover and packaging from whatever place they talked about in their hype, then there is the fact they must have had to license this from the (probably major) label that has the rights to it, then may have to pay a percentage to them on top of that. While I find the price stupid on so many records these days, including this... There *may* be a little bit of justification this time. I had the same f'them feelings as well, but found the post they made at the Hoffman forum a little encouraging... and to the obligatory rant: but to the bigger point, it is f'ed up how some of the smaller and indie spirited labels can put out stuff at half the cost of some of these majors which supposedly have the clout to negotiate better prices.... and I can guarantee all the boutique labels are pricing their releases as high as they can, not to cover costs, but because people are pissing all over themselves to get the most exclusive limited variant available.
  18. really glad to hear that it wasn't the label setting a super high price point on these!!! I mean, $35 is kind of outrageous if it wasn't the new norm in a lot of cases... but the way it was looking at the beginning on these was pretty unbelievable!! Glad they posted that!
  19. i had low compatibility with most here, but I think some of those have to do with the differences in the AMOUNT of followed artists and songs. I added several people after checking a few artists and favorites... already dove a bit into some unknowns based on connecting to others, which I hadn't really done before... a month of unlimited plays on the app is so cheap I still activated it occasionally and use it find new bands related to the artists i like, but having no control over what plays is both a blessing (makes you find new things) and a curse (no control when you want it). like mentioned, it's interesting it's still chugging a long... it does a BUNCH of different things (artist info, discover new artists, hear music, see video, comment/share, concert listings, etc..) but there are just a bunch of other apps and websites that do all those things better, even if they aren't all a one stop spot... edit---- this is actually the first time I've been at the site in AGES, looks like its quite a bit different, no more liking artists? you can only love songs or something? I'd noticed the app was not working like it used to about a year ago, but hadn't really been to the site, guess it's just different now... not really into it..
  20. http://www.last.fm/user/souljacker8888 my kindle occasionally pops up and says now scrobbling, but I haven't actively been using last fm much lately. I do have a pretty big selection of favorited songs and artists, though looking at what has been 'scrobbling' with out my active use of it, I wonder how they have been choosing... I like service, it's just not as relevant as it was, what with better streaming and concert tracking options...
  21. for Sparkle and Fade had to break down and go with soundstage direct (and their 12% off deal) and get shipped to my US address to pick up later came to just over $36... 22 bucks was the cheapest to ship to Germany. The price is STILL OUTRAGEOUS overseas. 91.28 at amazon de!!!!!! Marketplace a huge deal at 79.99!! Hhv has it at 54.99, but that doesnt even reach their free shipping threshold and its not even available to ship for another month. I've been watching this since it was announced and expecting the price to drop to at least halfway reasonable levels... really odd.... I am willing to bet in six months to a year I can get one of those hhv copies at a radically reduced price! I guess I get the comparisons to other 90's one hit wonders and radio rock, and except for a few songs on So Much For The Afterglow, I am mostly indifferent to Everclear, but Sparkle and Fade is a really really great mid-nineties rock album. One of my favorites all time albums, even if Everclear doesn't rank as a band I particularly enjoy. I wouldn't write the album off based on their radio hits and because of the 'era' they came from... I did listen to their newest, Black is the New Black, and though I don't love it, its definitely a return to their paced catchy sound all the way through. I liked it alright, but Sparkle and Fade is where it's at with these guys.
  22. regarding that one quick drop in price... i got my shipping confirmation today from amazon and they charged me the 27.99 (plus tax)= $30.57... I wonder if I had paribus if they would ask for a refund that was the cheaper price from before I had mine shipped, but was on pre-order? Technically I think if it did fall so low on pre-order amazon should have charged me that.. but I'm to lazy to press it...
  23. since it is not supposed to be released until tomorrow (amz.com anyway) it's still technically in the pre-order price guarantee isnt it? It should be charged that lower price regardless of paribus asking for a refund or not if it hasnt shipped.. technically right? I am still showing locked in with the 27.99 price, which is nothing to complain about, but if it did drop 15.99 that should be reflected in my charge when it ships... maybe i'll find out tomorrow if it gets sent out... I still show it arriving on the 28/30th on my orders page. but, been meaning to sign up for paribus... will have to do it..
  24. can't comment really on WHY the price rise on S.D., other than I got mine for almost 35 euro (a lot i thought) and now its over 60 euros from a German store but I was back home in the U.S. around Christmas and went into a Vintage Stocks... first time I have seen such a place. What a joke! Granted they had a ton of good CD, Comic, and nerd fluff in stock, but their vinyl had new releases between 5 and 10 bucks more than most other retailers, and then completely irrational prices on their used. Records that where in moldy conditions for 10 bucks. Semi-popular, yet, very easy to find mainstream stuff for 10/15/25 bucks you can get for a few dollars other places... Fleetwood Mac Rumours 17.99 for a 70's press with scratches no inner or poster.....didn't quite get it, and definitely: never going back again. i was wanting a cheap Jefferson Starship album from '79 that has JANE on it since the Wet Hot American Summer series last August... I saw it first thing in the front of the rack, thinking yea finally a used copy, flipped it over and 24,99!!! WTH!?
