  1. Thank you sir. They are opening. I'll get there early.
  2. So, I'm gonna go rock out to the Mixtapes tonight. I haven't heard Pentimento, Forever Came calling or Real Friends. Should I stick around for the other bands?
  3. Just finished listening to the whole thing front to back. This record is put together fantastically. Stand out tracks include Karina from DHC, Strung Out and Jon Snodgrass. As much as I hate Simple Plan, they even put up a great offering. This is probably one of my favorite comps of all times, and definitely an essential pick of 2013. I wanted to stop the record after every tune and listen to the original. RIP Tony Sly
  4. Love this scene. I put my records in order of labels. I do this because it makes me dig a bit for records I'm looking for, and I might stumble across something that I may have forgotten about.
  5. Got my copy today as well, looks awesome, can't wait to finish listening to the record. I have avoided listening to this until I received the vinyl. The only tune I've heard is the Teenage bottlerocket cut live.
  6. It could have been that my postman plays fucking rugby with all my packages, but the sides of the record are supported, but the top and bottom sit on the flimsy cardboard. I guess I'll just blame it on USPS like I always do. I didn't buy the record for the sleeve anyway,
  7. Got my clear in the mail today. Record sounds great, but not stoked on hello merch mailer. too much movement for record, and the record cut through my sleeve. Also, fuck shrink wrap. Thank you.
  8. Stubb's indoor. Mohawk would have been better, but I'm not complaining. I haven't seen Reggie in 12 years.
  9. Always down for seeing music related tattoos. I have a sound system on each of my arms, since that's where they are most of the time anyway... [post =][/post]<a[post=][/post]
  10. I couldn't have said it better myself....
  11. Got my white copy today, packaging and record look/sound great. I must admit, I'm even more stoked on The Stereo State 10" and the Anchors 12" I also picked up. I will be getting everything on this label.
  12. They just added an update: Dave and Vic have finished sequencing the "new" Wasted Days, which is a double album of all different tunes that appeared on the wholly-different original CD & Vinyl. Pending legal approval, that'll hit the press soon. The Bed is a Boat vinyl is mastered and ready to go to test press. Exciting stuff. Check out the picture below of the artwork. Very cool. The handcut 45s, and the limited edition CDs are READY to ship to those who ordered them outside of packages. The rest of the stuff is in the works and we'll update you soon. Thanks again for the support - everything's moving moving moving.
  13. Voted, but you can take me out of the running for the 7", because I just bought it, along with the LP. I love Ultimate Fakebook, and I had no idea this existed. Thanks for the post!
  14. Hey y'all, I have no responsibilities this afternoon so I'm going to drink some beers, and do a little webcasting on vaughn. If you're bored and you want to listen to some ska/punk/soul/reggae/whatever, swing on by! I was going to sit in front of my record player anyway, so I figured I'd broadcast as well. Stop by and say hello! http://vaughnlive.tv/theotherguys
  15. This afternoon I'm off work early, so I'll be having some Bengali Tiger from SixPoint and Stash IPA from Independence Brewing. Gotta love a good day drinking session while listening to records!
  16. If you're here for the first weekend of Austin Beer week, I highly recommend the 512 Anniversary party. Get there well before noon. They have some fantastic beers you can only get at the party. Austin has some other great breweries. Hops and Grains has their taproom open on Friday afternoons for free sampling, or tours on Saturday afternoons in East Austin. You'll also want to get your hands on some Jester King brews, which are some of my favorite beers produced. Whip In (http://whipin.com/) is a great beer bar close to downtown that has a huge selection of local beers, and a great beer garden if you're staying in the area. Have a great time!
  17. End of an ear is my regular stop, and friends of sound, particularly for old soul and jamaican music, they also have a decent amount of rare vinyl between the two, and a good selection of 7". I only visit Waterloo on RSD and RSD Black Friday, as they get the most goods out of any store. I'll usually wait in line at Waterloo, grab what I can, and then head over to End of an Ear to see what I can pick up, as they open an hour later.
  18. I've been waiting to get those knapsack records for ages, I hope they make it out soon...and since they had a couple shows scheduled, I hope they do a more complete tour!
  19. http://instagram.com/schlitzbeer Add me! Just started posting a record a day...I'll add ya back if you do any sort of vinyl posting!
