  1. I got a Mono Pet Sounds 1st Press at a junk store in a defunct Outlet Mall. The store was called Treasure Hunt. The LP was VG+++ and $7 USD. I felt like I stole that record when the teenage cashier bagged it up. I looked around like I was about to be Punk'd, but I made a beeline straight to my car like I just shoplifted it. I spent $10 with a guy from a Craistlist ad and got 40 records for $0.25 USD each. All US first presses. The haul included: Beatles - '65, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt Peppers (w/all inserts), White Album (w/All Inserts) Billy Joel - about 10 1st press albums including the Stranger (my fave). Several Stones albums Assortment of other stuff. I also have a friend that works at a music archive. They only have enough archive room to keep triplicates at most, so a couple times a year they have a (not-open-to-the-general-public) record sale. Any record is $1. I have spent a few hundred $$$$ over the years to get all sorts of goodies. $1 for All Things Must Pass (including poster). $1 for Eric Clapton Crossroads box set. All kinds of amazing things. I can usually sell one or two records each time to make up for my purchase costs. I love collecting records.
  2. There is a "dinked" version here, although not sure the difference between the OP version and this one. http://transmissionrecords.co.uk/shop/mikal-cronin-seeker-dinked-no-28/
  3. I was gonna do a PO SOON for this yesterday. I saw the lineup on Voodoo Fest which gave away the album title when you looked at Temples "info". I was going to copypasta that info here, which now appears to have been removed. It was snippets of conversation with James Bagwell about recording in his 300-year-old outbuilding with an iron roof, which song(s) he really liked while recording, among other things. Maybe I can find it somewhere else.
  4. Just got my shipping notification today. (Near the end of Alphabet Last Name, USA)
  5. Well, I custied up and paid for the 3 months. C'mon Demon Days....
  6. Do you think they will end up being in their store? I'd rather not join for 3 months like the email prompted. No 1-month option available.
  7. Soooo, i just got an email from VMP saying "a spot has opened up" and it is for the Gorillaz??? I mock went through the sign-up process and it says I would be getting the Gorillaz - Demon Days. Do you guys think this is legit? Are these extras?
  8. I got through on a one-month subscription on the 14th and just got word my Demon Days shipped! Woo!
  9. It shows Demon Days as the April record of the month in my account.
  10. I just got a 1-month signup to go through. Will I get Demon Days? It's only April 14th.
  11. For the most part, it is really not for me. I have seen one other record from VMP that I was excited about, but nothing as much as the Gorillaz. I may just have to pull the trigger just to get a non-bootleg version of Demon Days. Too bad the Temples is gone from the store now. edit: VMP sort of reminds me of Newbury with all their unnecessary pressings. Also, I am a grumpy old man.
  12. I just got notified by email that they have a "spot" open, but it is only for the 3, 6, or 12 months subscriptions. Boooooooo.
  13. Don't forget about the new single that dropped as well. Not as good as Nuclear Fusion, IMO, but better than Rattlesnake.
  14. that ebay seller Jwilson19 jacks up the price when he is down to his last copy of something. I think he does that to keep the last copy from selling, then he can hopefully get more in and drop the price back down. He was selling them for $74.99 previously.
  15. The Plain pressings for Ween actually don't sound too bad, although I am pretty sure they are CD sourced.
