i had such a fucking good saturday. i got to judge a bartending competition (free drinks!) then went out with some friends for some of the finest cuisine in the city (and more drinks), and then watched "max payne." the movie wasn't that good, but the rest of the day was awesome.

AMAZING. so psyched to hear the wollard track.

that's weird that the austin lucas track is a demo, considering that the album versions are basically the same thing; one-take recordings of him performing the songs solo.

i don't think that works in this case though. they've got way more than 24 tracks laid on most of the songs, based on what i've read in interviews. hell, i think most songs have guitar parts than that alone. if that's the case it most likely would've been dumped off from digital onto a 1/4" master. so that would make it kind of a gimmick, but no more really than pressing it on vinyl.

i don't mind. singles are pretty rare purchases for me.

i didn't see the kaki king one, i wouldve bought it. thanks for offering the songs aaron, but since the vinyl sold out i just donated six bucks for the download. but yeah, if anyone wants to offer up a copy of either, i'll pay. out the ass.

oh, and mine would probably be the keg. no, wait -- there was a local steak house in saskatoon i went to with my morning show host when i was producing his show. we got free tickets to see james brown, so we drove up the night of the show and had four or five pints before we realized we were hungry. we checked into our hotel and then went to the restaurant on the main floor. had a $90 bottle of wine, 40-70 dollar steaks, and the bill was well over $200 just for the two of us. the best part, of course, being that we had a great news director/manager at the time and he submitted the receipt and the hotel bill as a "team building exercise" and the radio station paid for the whole mess. the show KILLED. james brown was amazing, but his band absolutely killed. dude had three dancers and two hype guys. mind-blowing. i only remember about half the set, i think i was pretty drunk. i just remember waking up in the hotel room and dave (my host) was on the phone with one of our talk shows doing a review of the show. he'd already read the paper and got breakfast. i've never met an old dude that handles booze as well as he does.
