  1. It's absolutely an April Fool's joke. For one, the band website and facebook page still have the bird logo everywhere. Even the announcement video opens up with the bird. If they had been legally pushed to stop using it, you wouldn't be seeing it anywhere right now (even if there's not a new logo yet to replace it with yet). Second, in the video Anthony says that they approached this company to tell them to stop using the logo, and the company then rushed to trademark it themselves before the band could, since the band had simply forgotten to ever do it. A totally unbelievable story - if Bayside's legal counsel was going to threaten another company, they'd make sure their own asses were covered first. And per Anthony's own blog post, the band found out about this company in 2009....so they told them to stop, the other company scrambled to trademark the logo....and then waited 5 years to tell Bayside to stop using it? They'll unveil some awful logo on Tuesday (or maybe Monday), let people flip out for a while, then loljk. Just hope some poor sap doesn't go get his current Bayside tattoo covered up between now and then.
  2. Seriously. Any price. I'll borrow against my 401k for it if I have to.
  3. God yes. I'd like to see some more Final Fantasy music put on vinyl. I know the OST for 7 was put on pic discs not that long ago. And there's a 5 LP box set of music from the first few games, but it was only released in Japan, and I'm not willing to pay $350+ for a copy. I'd like to see music from X or XII get a pressing. Hell, even the Distant Worlds symphony concerts would be nice. Not just 8 bit midis, but actual music. Also, Kingdom Hearts.
  4. Truth. I'm a big Say Anything fan, but at this point I just want a pressing of Baseball, then they can break up for all I care. Hoping to be proven wrong with this album - but not optimistic.
  5. I'm hoping they fade into obscurity as quickly as they appeared, but if they stick around for a while, I can easily see Imagine Dragons becoming the Linkin Park of this decade. Just saturating the Top 40 charts with generic, bland, radio friendly shit.
  6. I use MilkCrate and Discollector, and this has been a problem since the end of January, and I think it's for all apps that access discogs. From a Discollector update on Jan 28th: "Discogs has changed the options available for third party access to their services. As a result, the fast image and release proxies had to be removed. Also, images (and thumbnails) are now severely restricted to us as developers, so we were forced to remove them." Any records I've added to my collection since then don't show artwork in either app.
  7. Not sure, but if they're running this sale at a loss to try to dump extra stock, as everyone seems to think, then it doesn't make any sense for them to order more vinyl to fulfill backorders. I would think they'll just cancel the order, but I guess it's worth trying.
  8. If it makes you happy, I'm another one. I had heard "She Doesn't Get It", but that was about as far as I ever got into their catalog. When I saw this thread, I decided to grab Dog Problems on a whim, and I've been in love with it since it showed up. Convinced me to get a copy of Swans, and just yesterday I grabbed a copy of I&L (they'd been out of stock for a minute, had to wait).
  9. I currently have a TA-AX390. Without hearing the 380, I'd imagine the two are pretty close in quality. I can say that mine is just okay, and without a doubt is the weakest link in my current setup (AT-LP120 and Pioneer SP-BS22-LRs). Seriously considering moving up to a Marantz PM6004, since they can be had a decent discount right now on Amazon.
  10. That's easily just stupidity. There are at least three places (label, interpunk, and discogs) where you can get the clear variant for < $20, and I'm sure there's other places to get it for similar prices if I looked harder. Like a Geico commercial, 5 minutes of searching around could have saved these guys 10-15 bucks. Not doing that is just stupid.
  11. If the town's small and the mail carrier / post office is used to you getting packages, they may recognize the name and address and be smart enough to figure it out and put it with the rest of your correctly-labeled mail. I used to live in an apartment complex, and mail without my apt # included always seemed to show up - and that was in a city, not a small town. That said, if you're worried about it, a phone call is only going to take a couple minutes, and is probably worth the peace of mind. If it was me, I'd probably wait for it to arrive at the local PO, and then see if they attempt a delivery that day. If the tracking doesn't show anything happening a day after arrival at the local PO, then chances are they don't know what to do with it, and then you can call (or just show up there yourself) to straighten it out.
  12. Our Lady Peace. 20 years of music and 8 albums, and the only viny to their name was a 7" Neil Young cover in '94, and the most recent two albums (which tbh were a little underwhelming, at least in comparison to the earlier stuff). 20th Anniversary 1994-2014 box set. I still don't understand why this isn't happening.
  13. I'm interested in the Hands Like Houses and Color Morale covers, but that's about it. Which is pretty much the same for every Punk Goes release - two or three songs that are good enough for me to save on my ipod or spotify playlist, and the rest are junk that I never want to hear again. For $20+ with shipping, I'll pass.
  14. Guess the Looney Tunes site has contradicting information then. http://ltcds.com/bayside-returns-to-looney-tunes-again/ Shipping was free if you went to the store to pick it up. He's still going to have to pay USPS to send it out to whoever wins the auction. I'll agree that the fact that he didn't pay shipping to receive the album in the first place increases his profit a little bit. I still don't think $35 is an outrageous starting bid. You seem to dismiss the autograph being worth all that much, because they're easy to obtain at shows - not everyone has the means or lives in the right area to see Bayside on tour. I think if you were to ask most Bayside fans whether an autographed record is worth $10-$15 over retail, I have a feeling most would say yes. I already have a copy of the clear vinyl, but I would have easily paid $35 for this without thinking twice (and then I probably would have sold my original copy to try to recoup some of that money, which I guess makes me just as bad as this guy). But again, it just doesn't seem to me like this guy bought the record with the clear intention of turning around to sell it for as much as he can get. I guess we just have to agree to disagree on what we see as a fair price.
  15. Yeah, don't you know you're supposed to sell your records at a loss? You eat the shipping, and the fees, because it's for the good of the community. Or some shit like that. Flipping is buying an album with the intent to turn around and sell it in order to turn a profit. A ~$10 markup on an auction that already has free shipping doesn't seem like someone trying to max out his profit margin. I mean, it's an autographed, numbered, OOP variant - a true flipper would have put this up at a much higher starting price. Hell, there are currently two other auctions for the clear variant, and they're both asking at least $69.99. That's flipping. I know flippers are a problem, and I don't like them anymore than the next guy, but can we chill on throwing it around as an insult/accusation at every person who puts up an auction?
  16. Haha dammit. I just dropped $80 for this last week, and I said to a buddy "watch Rise repress it later this year." Oh well, guess I'm still glad to have the original. Makes sense, though. I'm also expected Ground Dweller to get a first-time press like Emarosa did. No sources for it, just a gut feeling. I'd honestly be more surprised if it didn't happen.
  17. Seriously. This year is the 20th anniversary of Naveed, and their discography is just screaming for a box set. Someone needs to make it happen. Also, while we're talking about OLP, throw Raine Maida's "The Hunters Lullaby" on this list. I would pay ridiculous amounts of money for a copy of that.
  18. Does this mean I can list my 2x2 on EBay for triple the value? "RARE VINTAGE STORAGE OOP / $150 OBO"
