I usually agree in any other situation but growing up with the advisory on the cd case makes me oddly want it there this time. But i definitely understand your perspective and usually share it

Apparently there's gonna be a cassette store day version of Alex's new album; so if you're near a store participating it may be worth searching for beach music

Daaang, that harry potter cassette brings back memories. My elementary school library had a copy of that which they played whenever we were browsing for books and reading.

Same here, man! And I'm a delivery driver so I spend at least four to six hours a day in the car; since this released it's been the only album i've been playing!

I definitely would too...
Pkmn may be a low quality 8bit soundtrack, but it is THE low quality 8bit soundtrack I played/heard endlessly over fifteen years ago. Those songs are special to some of us man ;.;

What I think is really noteworthy and interesting is that the title is Beach Music, yet in my opinion this is the most suffocating release of his. Instead of spacious relaxation, the majority of the album instilled a constant, tense static energy; continually straining. In many songs, every movement of rhythm seems sedated yet constricted. Each clash of gentle synth-organ moan against slit-eyed acoustics swaying the itch-scratching electric sputters throughout.. It's hefty with infinite depth but I personally don't feel most of it to be spacious; rather walled-in, contemplative and focused in it's sparsity. The few tracks which do open up enough do evoke the beach feels are the only tracks where I felt that tense energy to loosen up enough for passive relaxation (which is what "Beach Music" invokes for me). Which is odd in the best way. The majority of the album; the down-tempo, pensive, stationary, "cold" atmospheric tracks somehow constrict and stress and strain so tensely. It's jaw-gritting, imo. The few upbeat songs instill the exact opposite energy for me.. Snot is the only track I found gentle enough to relax and have my mind drift away to, the rest of the album was so immediate and demanding (in the best way.) Though I suppose it is worth noting that moment of calm and relaxation (arguably the most upbeat song, which is interestingly contradictory) follows Station, a corroding clashing distorted melody reminiscent of the tongue in cheek classic "don't worry, be happy" so..
man i love this album

Yeah I know, that's totally a factor too. He's made it very apparent he supports free digital downloads. It's almost done downloading and I can't wait... I guess if it wasn't for domino we woulda had this like half a year ago already. But i'd definitely rather wait a bit and in turn have the music get the recognition it deserves thanks to domino's publicity

Maybe you guys can make a "please just make the cover sleeve a minimalist pokeball" petition
Or since he's really into making cover art based on classic, iconic albums you guys should find one to suggest based off a sphere.
Off the top of my head, tho it isn't at all classic or iconic, D12's old album would work well. You could do "Poke'mon" in the same font, have Red's unique black gloved hand clutching a giant pokeball..
idk. I just feel this should be pokeball related in some way i guess haha

I always thought when pkmn finally got a vinyl ost the cover art would just be this:
w/o the dumb watermark ofcourse

Ok i know distinctlydustin was joking but
you can not miss this opportunity for creating unique jumpdrives for every artist in your roster. I want all of Elvis Depressedly's discography on a jumpdrive shaped like Stone Cold Steve Austin where you remove his head from the figure to reveal the usb input. imagine having steve austin's torso jutting outta your laptop everytime you listened to elvis d
