  1. first post has been edited, by the way. check out the official announcement of AIR-001 in the feature on my label over at www.indiemonday.com!
  2. holy shit paul, i never saw that question until just now. sorry about that. the release date is set (tentatively) for July 7. if it's not ready by then, it would be August 8. not sure about venue yet, but if i had to take a guess, i'd say Fireside Bowl.
  3. one of the bands i'm going to be putting out a record for need some help raising money to pay for their studio time. i know that right before the holidays isn't always the best time to ask for pledges to a kickstarter, but even if you could just spare $1, it would go a long way. of course, if you're in a position where you could possibly donate more, anything you could spare would be greatly appreciated by us all. this band is really great, and they're doing some exciting things musically. i'm super pumped to be working with them. the album is set for a July 7 release. again, the money raised from the kickstarter will be going directly to the band to help pay for their studio time, not toward paying for the pressing of the record. i've got that part covered myself. so far in 10 days, they've already raised $630 out of their $1,500 goal. they've got 20 days left to get the rest. please follow the link to make a donation if you're able to: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/triplea/help-an-aesthetic-anaesthetic-release-1st-vinyl-fu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N76m29ZjPcA&hl=en&fs=1 "Chicago band An Aesthetic Anaesthetic will head into Engine Studios this March with heavy music producer extraordinaire Sanford Parker at the helm to record their second full-length record, NAMES. The songs on NAMES are markedly darker and more profound than the ones found on their 2011 release, Before the Machinery of Other Skeletons, and the band is excited to work with Sanford to harness the raw energy of their live show on record. Parker is best known for his work with acclaimed metal bands Pelican, Nachtmystium, and Yakuza. NAMES will be released on vinyl by Chicago independent label Artistic Integrity Records. An Aesthetic Anaesthetic would greatly appreciate your help with the funding of this album and have many rewards to offer you in return! Although the recording of this album will cost A!A!A about $3,000, we set our goal for $1,500 in hopes of getting at least half way there. Feel free to keep donating after we reach our goal! Thank you in advance for all of your support!!" if you're a fan of instrumental post-rock along the lines of Russian Circles and/or Battles, you gotta give these guys a chance. their recordings are great, but if you live in chicago, their live show is AMAZING. their songs have epic builds, heavy breakdowns, mathy verses, and still manage to get stuck in your head. you can check out some of their tunes here: http://anaestheticanaesthetic.bandcamp.com/ seriously guys, thanks for taking the time to read this. whether you donate or not, hopefully you check out A!A!A and tell your friends. oh, and you can "Like" my label's facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/artisticintegrityrecords
  4. i've got a few copies. if julio makes me a fair offer, i'd let one go. that's why i gave him all the information he needed to make a respectable offer.
  5. over the last year, they've been seeming to mostly sell in the $35-45 + shipping range. some have been more than $55 (http://www.popsike.com/Heavens-Patent-Pending-Vinyl-LP-rare-Alkaline-Trio-Hot-/320758347158.html), and others have been just over $30 (http://www.popsike.com/Heavens-Patent-Pending-LP-7711000/230637020311.html), but $35-45 seems to be where most of them fall. unless you want one with the Loki spraypainted cover... http://www.popsike.com/Heavens-Patent-Pending-LP-1000-VC-Exclusive-55100-Alkaline-Trio-OOP-NOFX/150683507331.html
  6. AIR-001 on black - 667 copies AIR-001 on navy - 333 copies it was an expensive day. www.artisticintegrityrecords.com
  7. and, you know, worse players. if tuffy rhodes can't make a team in the major leagues, and wins the MVP award over in japan, clearly it's not the best competition.
  8. here's another band's website that uses the exact same template as the one i'm using for mine. www.theloveshots.com as you can see, they were a little more creative with their use of photos at the top of pages than i was. and they utilize a few more of the options than i have chosen to so far.
  9. don't get me wrong, there were a ton of real junkers in there to choose from. i just really like simple websites. i could have added a flash intro, or a site-wide media player, or a whole bunch of bells and whistles. but i don't like all that crap. just make it obvious for me to get where i need to go, and let me buy my shit and get on my way. that's how i tried to lay my site out, at least. also, unless they have since changed their prices, if you want digital download codes from limited pressing, it's $20 for 1,000 codes. by far the best price i found anywhere (most places seemed to be $55-60 per thousand). the catch was, you had to also agree to buy 2 months of limited pressing's store, which was $20/month. they throw in a third month free, but you're essentially paying $60 for 1,000 downloads and 3 months of store usage. with bandzoogle, you get a free store on your own site (no links to external sites/stores needed), and all the digital download codes your little heart desires. if you're only going to be doing one release every 3 months, you wouldn't need any more than 1,000 codes more than likely anyway. but still.
  10. dude, i created my site using bandzoogle. it was SO fucking easy. it's not the best website in the world, but it gets done what i need it to do. for $20 a month, i get a store directly in my website, and all the free digital download codes i ever want. part of the deal is also a custom domain name. if you use the free trial, it'll be "www.recordhound1002.bandzoogle.com" ... but if you upgrade to the $20/month option, you can get it to be "www.recordhound1002.com". i have absolutely ZERO web design experience in my background, and i created everything you see on my own. it's very easy to use. i'd be happy to walk you through anything you need. www.artisticintegrityrecords.com if you decide you want to try using bandzoogle, let me give you a referral link so you can get 60 days of free usage, and i can get a month free!
  11. well, he IS from st. louis... he's probably been hearing that joke about himself for 10+ years and been waiting to be able to use it on somebody else.
  12. that one actually looks real. he hadn't posted a picture of the back, so i asked him to. either it's real, or he did a REALLY good job faking it.
  13. it really is unbelievable. i'm a bears fan and i can't even stop laughing. i've never seen anything like this before.
  14. the domain change finally went through, so set your bookmarks to www.artisticintegrityrecords.com! check it out, and feel free to buy some of the rare things i've got up in the store!
  15. thank you guys so much! this project is well on its way to getting backed! devon (the guitar player/lead singer) is actually in a few bands. one of them is called The Fur Coats, where he plays bass/sings, and Marc Ruvulo plays guitar/sings. they have a FREE benefit show tonight for the homeless. it's at Cole's Bar in chicago, which means it's 21+, and it starts at 9 pm. i think the Fur Coats will go on at about 10 pm. if you're in the area and are looking for something fun to do, come on down and say hi!
  16. the cap at metro is 1,100 or so, if i'm not mistaken. everybody who was at the show got one, and even though there were 2 shows, there were still plenty leftover.
  17. i wish. that's already been pressed to vinyl, though!
  18. EDIT! alright everybody... the moment we've all been waiting for: the official announcement of AIR-001 is live right now at http://www.indiemonday.com/ for the past six months, i've been working on getting everything ready for the first vinyl release on my new label, Artistic Integrity Records. it's something i'm super excited to be releasing, and hopefully a lot of you will feel the same. the release date is going to be new year's day, 1.1.12. some of you already know what it's going to be, but most of you don't. the official announcement will be made on December 19, through a pretty awesome blog here in Chicago called Indie Monday, who will be doing a feature on me and my label. you can "Like" them on facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=73002259&ref=pb#!/indiemonday i've already got AIR-002 and AIR-003 in the works, as well. AIR-002 is a split 7". it will feature two songs by The Ambulance Review (from Fredericksburg, Virginia) on one side, and three songs by Devon Kay & The Solutions (from Chicago) on the other. the tentative release date for that is going to be April 4, 2012. AIR-003 is a 12" full length. it will feature 4 songs (although nearly 42 minutes of music) by An Aesthetic Anaesthetic, who is another Chicago band. the album is going to be produced by Sanford Parker, who did Pelican's debut album in 2001 and has become one of the biggest metal/experimental/post-rock producers in the industry since. the release date for this one is July 7, 2012. you can go to the website i've created to stay updated with everything that's going on. www.artisticintegrityrecords.com since nothing is officially released yet, there is nothing from AIR for sale at the moment. but there's tons of other goodies up right now, and as of new year's day, there will be lots of great things available from the store that's directly on the website. there's also a few progress updates and some pressing information/links to hear some of the bands i'm currently working with. in the meantime, you can also "Like" my label's page on facebook to stay updated: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=507056639&ref=ts#!/artisticintegrityrecords you guys can feel free to post guesses in this thread as to what AIR-001 is going to be. nothing will be confirmed or denied until December 19 when Indie Monday officially announces the release, though! i hope you guys are half as excited as i am for my first release! i've got a pretty good feeling it's something a few of you are going to be into...
  19. hahaha i wish. not quite, though. but close...
  20. what do you mean, what's the deal with them? i'm not sure i understand the question... when you press a record (and print jackets), they give you a +/- 10% range for your run. basically nobody ever gives you less than what you order, but if you get more, then you just have some extra ones to sell/give away/burn/whatever. usually, not an issue. when you order jackets with "___/3000" printed directly on them, however, it's a problem you have to deal with if they send you 3,200 records and jackets. instead of going with the burn/whatever options from above, they decided to sell/give away. but they weren't going to number anything 3,001/3,000. so they just left them blank. and therein lies the rub.
