  1. It'll be $150 once oop. Just buy the fucker
  2. This is blaring thru my headphones right now. I really dig, immediately way easier to grab onto than The Seer was, which I do love too. The design choices on the vinyl with the cut-out baby paintings on the raw paper stock is stunning. Just Awesome
  3. Ordered from Amazon cuz I had some free money there but seems they're out of stock for a time...went to my local over lunch and picked it up for $2 more - that'll work! I do enjoy having the M. Gira signature on my other Swans/Angels of Light albums that came from Y.G. or merch tables but, oh well. Will be spinning this hard the rest of the week!
  4. I thought the thread was 'Do you buy doobies or records?' when I first looked...that'd be tougher to answer.
  5. Hex got...only black left but that seems more appropriate for Earth anyhow...I picked up Bees on ebay for $30 a few years ago with the awesome bible-style pkg. and Earth 2 at a show last year so I'm happy
  6. Nice, you order direct from Young God? No ship confirm for me yet but so psyched, plus I love the artwork...will look great as a gatefold!
  7. Pre-order in for this, I'll probably listen to the NPR stream too 'cuz I'm really psyched for this album. I'm a big fan of Angels of Light also, Sing Other People is one of my top five albums, period. It's probably his most accessible release if you're not familiar...Akron/Family act as the backing band - the Angels I guess and add some excellent harmonies into the mix that are really unique from Gira's other work. New Mother is also great.
  8. ^ ditto...which is weird 'cuz I usually Love female vox on heavy music. Makes me esp. excited for St. Vincent's inclusion on this new one. That said, if Soundtracks for the Blind gets a vinyl reissue treatment, as I've heard it may, I'd be very psyched!
  9. Looks like Norman Records has Songs:Ohia but $95 + shipping to US...ouch. If anyone sees a Songs:Ohia in stock, please pass along info!
  10. Had an excellent day! Hit 7 stores by noonish, all were busy, some too hectic for good shopping. There's even two new record stores we stopped by, good to see places still popping up - Agharta in St. Paul was especially robust and I picked up an excellent Torche lp there. I missed out on the Songs:Ohia box which I'd have really loved to have picked up. Purchased: Velvet Underground - Loaded (pink splatter), Nothing - Guilty Of Everything (2nd press w/ alternate cover), True Widow - Yellow-Cream press, Torche - S/T, swamp green tri-color, Broadcast - Berberian Sound Studio OST, A Minor Forest - Flemish Altruisism/InIndependence remaster/release, Dinosaur Jr. 7" box
  11. and of course you can't handle the lps with this approach ^...I often do an impulse buy after getting my hands on something, seeing great packaging or whatever. I'm glad none of the stores here do it that way. The bigger one - Electric Fetus - hands out numbers and lets 10 or so at a time into a specific aisle of RSD stuff, 1 of each item limit. The rest of the store is open for shopping with bands playing in one corner. Food trucks out back. The other stores here, you queue up, they open the doors and everyone runs in. Tense but pretty fun.
  12. We have the fortune of having at least 7 good stores around here. Only one actually opens at 8, the rest wait til 9 or 10. Showing up at the early one about 7 gets you in the first 10 or so people and then you can pretty much get to other stores as they open...it's pretty civilized really. Can't wait
  13. Chris said he was trying to be done by Sun. night, ...Monday release?
  14. I hear ya'! Love Is Overtaking Me is drastically under-appreciated. I also love my Soul Jazz 3x vinyl of The World of Arthur Russell ( by far best sounding of my A.R. vinyl) and the new Arc Light press of Another Thought (prob. my favorite Russell collection). I haven't picked up this World of Echo lp yet. I admit it's an album I don't play much and prob. won't anytime soon though I appreciate it's existence...like Tim Buckley's StarSailor I guess. I think I'll look for a good vinyl copy of Calling Out Of Context first to be perfectly honest. An album I only have on cd but spin quite a bit still. Yay A. Russell fans!!
  15. The Jaco should be pretty cool. Demos from 1974 session on splatter (?) vinyl put out by Omnivore, so quality should be pretty top notch
  16. Except for missing the cellos, the 2013 mix has been my preferred listen over the past year for this album. The guitar snarls and the vocals are fantastic
  17. Got a nice delivery from Temporary Residence this week: Inventions - s/t Mono - You Are There Envy - Recitations + PO placed for Helms Alee // Young Widows split and Emma Ruth Rundall - Some Heavy Ocean ...trying to convince myself I don't need the gold colored new Skull Defekts lp...
  18. Pre-Order is up here... http://hellomerch.com/collections/helms-alee
  19. Just picked up new Unwound boxset - Rat Conspiracy, Torche - In Return (orange vinyl), a Helms Alee 7", and am anxiously awaiting delivery of Circle - Sunrise. That's it til RSD, right?
  20. A Minor Forest is one of my top releases too this RSD. I'd also be really happy to pick up the Songs:Ohia box, The Moles retrospective lps, Life Without Buildings, and maybe the Dino. Jr. box. Some pretty excellent choices for my kind of tastes...
