  1. Ok girls and guys. Signing off on The Bride on the Boxcar portion of this Margot experience. Here's the cats at Joyful Noise Recordings unboxing the thing. They've begun shipping, so check your mailbox and show us pics of yours. We got word that they have "a handful" of black sets left, so get 'em at joyfulnoiserecordings.com if ya want 'em.

    XXXO,

    Margot.

Message from Facebook. My box set arrives Monday!

  2. Does it included the "Everything is Changing" tombstone picture from the CD booklet anywhere? Still waiting for my box from the UK. Should be here on the 10th and I couldn't be more anxious.

Yes it does. It also has the baby genius comic and the funeral comic. All are printed on the inner sleeves.

Listened to ESB this morning. No surface noise, sounds really good.

Also, no sleeve scuffing on the LPs. They look like black glass. Quality pressing.

  3. So guys just a heads up that SoundStageDirect is doing a 13% off sale on their site right now through the end of today using coupon code "treat13" at checkout. If you buy the box set (and live in the USA) you can get it for $57 shipped which includes free media mail shipping. Probably the cheapest price I've seen so far.

Thanks for the heads up. I canceled my Amazon.ca order, and placed it with Soundstage. Saved me about $15.

  4. I know there are mixed feelings about newbury exclusives (e.g., repressing common, inprint titles and charging more due to color variant), but I got to say, from the 3 titles I picked up, they are high quality pressings. That John Lee Hooker ($15), John Coltrane Lush Life ($13) and Volcano Choir ($20 purchased secondhand) all look and sound phenomenal. I appreciate the polyvinyl sleeves as well. Haven't had any sleeve wear. I grabbed a few of the Miles Davis exclusives and that BB King at the Regal as well.

  5. Not sure how much this forum follows underground hip-hop/electronic production, but I have a few LPs from Mush Records for sale. http://www.mushrecords.com/

According to their website, some of these titles are OOP.

    Prices are PPD.

    1. Caural - Mirrors for Eyes (2xLP) - $10

    2. Thavius Beck - Thru (1XLP) - $10

    3. Antimc - It's Free, But It's Not Cheap (1XLP) - $10

    4. Radioinactive & Antimc - Free Kamal (2xLP) - $10

All are brand new and sealed. Shipping will be USPS media mail with tracking. I'd prefer to sell to US addresses only. If you want to buy all 4 LPs, I'll let them go for $35 ppd.

    PM me if interested.

    Thanks.

  6. This is what I have (JBL L830 bookshelf speakers):

    http://www.amazon.com/JBL-Performance-6-Inch-Bookshelf-Loudspeaker/dp/B000FYZARY

They have fantastic bass, stereo separation, and possess a well-balanced frequency range. They sound good at low volumes as well. No distortion at extreme volumes. Build quality is top-notch (each weighs ~23lbs), and they can be bi-amped.

They can be found cheaper elsewhere online. I snagged a pair for $275 about 4 or 5 years ago.

Solid buy. Look at the reviews on Amazon and elsewhere on the net.

  7. Attended a Headphones living room date last night and a lot of cool info came to light via audience questions:

    1. New Bazan LP has a target release of February 2016. The songs continue in the electronic direction of Monthly Vol. 2, "but there's gonna be guitars on it too."

    2. Bazan Monthly was a good experiment, but mostly served as a mechanism for Dave to "get over [his] bruised pussy and just write shit." The goal from here on out is to do an album a year.

    3. Monthly Vol. 1 & 2 are both getting LP releases due to popular demand. Purchasers of the 7" sets will get an opportunity to buy the LP versions at cost if they wish.

    4. New Overseas LP is "about 60% finished." Remaining songs only need lyrics/vocals/mixing.

    5. There are no current plans to do any further Pedro The Lion album tours. The Control tour happened to fall on the anniversary of that album's release but was simply "the most effective way we could think of to raise awareness for and market the re-release of the Pedro vinyl. Jade Tree didn't want to release those albums - fuck those guys - and we were in to the represses about $30,000." Dave also said that he dislikes enough songs on every other Pedro The Lion album to the point that he does not want to play them live.

In regards to #3, I just spoke with an Undertow rep today and he said there are no plans for the Monthly Volumes to be pressed to LPs. From the email conversation I had today:

"As far as the LP version of the monthly's, I believe that is just a rumor. I haven't heard about anything about re-releaseing the songs on LPs. Sorry for any disappointment. But I do know Dave is working on a new record. We may see that available early next year."

    Not sure who to believe.
