  1. If it makes you feel any better at all, my dad had some pretty bad cancer back when I was a young guy, they didn't think he was going to make it through it and he did. All you can do is keep up the good fight sometimes, but sometimes that's enough.
  2. Yeah, I've honestly had fewer problems with the USPS than with any other carrier. UPS always dicks me up and down, FedEx had a package on a truck to deliver (two days later than it was supposed to arrive) on Christmas Eve one year, and the motherfucker turned around and went home without delivering it because they decided they were done for the day.
  3. I'm so sorry, Brock. I'm directing some positive vibes your way right now, man. I hope they make their way to you like a laser from a cyborg unicorn.
  4. Found another listing that looked even more familiar for the same place. That's the joint for sure ^^^
  5. I'm not sure exactly where it is. This looks like it might be it? http://rochester.craigslist.org/gms/4596600899.html I used to just find it on craigslist and then google map it whenever I'd go. It's every weekend pretty much. If it is the joint, looks like they may not have quite as many records anymore. It looks familiar though.
  6. I did! I loved that joint. I miss stuff like that, everything gets pretty picked over here in Portland.
  7. nice! I don't have Live Evil, but I found a NEMS copy of Live At Last a while back at the thrift shop. Mine was $1.00 or something though :? Everyone needs most Black Sabbath. My goal is to have all US first presses of the first 8 albums. Getting there.
  8. Yeah, even if this isn't on the full album, I'd rather grab Om - Advaitic Songs for $20...
  9. Me too! If the USPS went bankrupt I think it would mess mail stuff up more than anyone expects...
  10. Ryan seems like a pretty helpful and reasonable dude when he posts on here, so if there isn't a bunch of stuff I want from past releases, I may see if he'd be amenable to swapping in some of the Archival stuff as it comes out. If not, I'll probably just order Archival stuff and leave off the RC for a while.
  11. Nah, it's not usually you guys I have a problem with. Getting a VA doctor to sign a death certificate, on the other hand, is like pulling teeth more often than not.
  12. It was like $5.39 shipping for me. Like I said, $20+ for a single just isn't in the cards for me.
  13. Don't even get me started with the V.A. (though I'm sure you're a lovely person.)
  14. Yeah, I think that's what that dude said earlier, Whirr- Distressor was what he picked up at 12. I got my Two Conversations at just under $16. He did also say in this thread that he's been advised to raise prices, so these may be the new norm, but the shops got them at discount because it was before he got that advice.
  15. Ah. Right on. I'd even take back non-RC stuff that is still in print. I know they still have black copies of Sagarmatha and some of the other AC stuff. I'd just rather not get a bunch of albums I couldn't give a shit about and then have to try to sell them to recoup that money.
  16. It was actually out in Penn Yann or Bloomfield or something stupid. It took like an hour/hour and half to get out there. (another reason people didn't go with me.)
  17. Dreamend seems cool. I emailed him really quickly to just ask if I could see what is in backstock. That solved the problem pretty easily if he responds.
  18. Hrm. This intrigues me more now...I'm almost definitely doing this when I get home if only to tighten up my Appleseed Cast game. Seems totally worthwhile now if I can snag Sagarmatha, Middle States, Illumnation Ritual and eventually Peregrine, Whirr - Distressor, etc.
  19. Haha, I used to go to this barn out in the middle of nowhere when I lived in Rochester and I bought sooooo many records from them. I don't think many people actually bought records from them, because it was mostly a barn full of like...barn stuff and house stuff, almost like a big flea market or garage sale. Anyway. They'd get records when they bought big lots of stuff, and I'd go out there and sift through vinyl for like...6 hours on a Saturday or whatever. I almost always went alone, otherwise people would get bored/too allergy-ed out and I'd have to leave before I was done. They charged $.50 per record or 3 for $1. I got BS- S/t, SBS, and NSD there, plus they always had really weird 12" singles and a lot of other sweet rock stuff. I got Technotronic - Pump Up the Jams, Salt 'n' Pepa - Push It, House of Pain - Jump around 7," all kinds of stupid stuff, but a bunch of other neat stuff too. I can't remember everything, but I'm sure I picked up so Nilsson, some Neil Young. You know, classic stuff.
