How did you know that Taking Back Sunday is my favorite band? You're right, this thread is confusing. -

Huh? That was the exact email i sent them. They sent me that hand written letter with a bandana, patch, a record before it's release date and a pink copy of the Lewis record. That's why I'm wearing the bandana in the photo and holding the record. -

Yeah man. I sent the used black copy back after they sent me a free record, a record a month before it's release date, a hand-written apology & various other stuff as an apology/thank you for being a loyal customer for years. -

A common trait among stupid people is to assume others are as stupid as they are. I'm pretty sure the label realized my email wasn't serious. I'm sorry you couldn't figure that out. I didn't mean to toy with your emotions. -

Yeah man. I totally get it. You used a quote from a book as your location. You put the pro in profound. -

No more cringe worthy than claiming to be from "a screaming comes across the sky." So edgy! -

Wow. You guys can't tell this story is a joke? Sorry I thought you would find it funny. I sent a ridiculously over the top email to a record label to let them know of an error on their webpage and they played along and sent me a record and some extras. Then, as a thank you, I sent them a photo and thank you note. I would like to think that the person working for the record label found this to be funny and was entertained by it. I'm sure they receive a ton of bitchy nitpicky complaints from overly sensitive record collectors all day long and thought they'd appreciate something different. Lighten up people. -

This is kind of a long story but I think it's pretty amazing & have been meaning to share it for awhile now. Every detail in this story is true. I have not changed the names of the people involved because no one is innocent. Any way, here goes: It's hard to believe you can lose the love of your life over a silly record but that's exactly what happened. Light In The Attic records lead me to believe I ordered a black vinyl version of a Lewis record when I knew I had ordered pink. I only wish this were as insignificant as it sounds. A month or so later I realized it was their fault & not mine & emailed them this message to let them know the pain their mistake caused me: Dear my ex-favorite label, I wrote you awhile ago because I received a black vinyl Lewis Romantic Times record but was convinced I had ordered pink. You managed to point out to me that my receipt showed that I did not order the pink version. While perusing your website today, I see that you still have the pink option available to order despite it being listed as sold out at the bottom of the record's description. This helped ease the pain of my broken heart when I was unable to give the love of my life his favorite record on pink vinyl for Valentine's day. All this time I had blamed myself but I should have been blaming you. I hope you're happy. Gary has left me and taken the dog with him. I know you can't bring Gary back but I had to email you. If, for no other reason, than to give you a chance to fix this error on your website and prevent another poor soul from suffering as I have. I feel as if my heart has been torn out of my chest, dipped in sulfuric acid and fisted by satan himself. Like a testicle without a sack, I am hanging on by only a thread. Just dangling. My only hope is to hold on long enough for my WHITE vinyl copy of Songs From Suicide Bridge to show up so I have something pretty to listen to while I off myself. Unless you lied to me about that too!!! Unkind regards, x ∞ Alone & miserable, I eventually learned to move on from this tragic incident. Several weeks later & quite unexpectedly, I received a large package in the mail. While I have accepted many large packages in the past, this one contained the greatest surprise I have ever received. Inside the box was advanced copies of the Songs From Suicide Bridge LP, a handwritten letter, a Light In The Attic bandana, patch & best of all, a pink vinyl copy of the Lewis record!!! Here's the letter they sent me: Armed with this new evidence, I booked a flight to Puerto Rico where Gary was on vacation with my ex-hairstylist & dog kidnapping co-hort Phuong aka bitch master flex & confronted them. Needless to say, Gary forgave me & we got engaged right then & there! FIREWORKS!! Of course I had to thank LITA for reuniting me with Gary so I sent them a picture of the two of us lovebirds with a letter of thanks written on the back of the photo: And that's our story! I hope you enjoyed it. I also wanted to say that everyone should support Light In The Attic Records because they truly are amazing! Thanks for reading! TOODLES!

First off, let me just say that I had to start listening to the record you mentioned while looking it up due to the name alone. So far so good. It's like a mix of 70s chase scene songs & porn music. I'm a huge fan of Head Hunters era Herbie Hancock, anything by Wynder K. Frog, Incredible Bongo Band, etc. so this has got me rock hard so far. Anyway...from what I know about promo copies, this record probably isn't worth very much if anything at all. From my experience, the only time promo records are really worth anything is if the official release is impossible to get or there was no official release & only promos were pressed to send out to radio stations. I was able to pick up a promo of UGK's Too Hard To Swallow several years ago I stumbled across for 7-8 bucks. I didn't realize until later that is was worth quite a bit because there was no regular vinyl release of the album. Maybe this was more common in the 90s when the record industry was starting to die but a lot of radio DJs still were still playing vinyl. I don't know. But since the album you're talking about was on Warner Bros. & it was the 70s, there's probably thousands of these things lying around still. Regardless, that Mystic Moods record appears to be widely available with no real reason I can see to seek out a promo copy of it. But again, like with the previous records you asked about, if you ask 100 people if they like the Mystic Moods Orchestra, at least 99 of them won't know that they were a band. I like this type of stuff & have never heard of them. The demand is probably slim to none. -

If you had the complete set & they were in perfect condition, they might be worth something assuming you found the perfect person to sell them to. When attempting to find the value of something like this, you can always ask yourself "how many people do I know with record players that play 78s & listen to classical music?" That will give you a rough idea of the demand. Checking if they have sold on eBay recently is also another way to find out. 78s were mostly shellac which is why they are heavy & brittle. There is an entry for these on discogs here: https://www.discogs.com/Adolf-Busch-Busch-Chamber-Players-Bach-The-Brandenburg-Concertos-Complete/release/5860274 There's a complete set for sale on discogs for $45. The demand for this type of stuff pales in comparison to its availability. You'd have to find something pretty unique like field recordings of Hitler playing a kazoo on 78 for it to be worth a lot. -
Pretty disappointed to see this thread isn't about The Blind Side OST getting pressed. I made my first baby to that movie.

I think how I differentiate between thrash & speed metal bands may be different than you do. These guys sound like they ride skateboards so they are a thrash band. Bands like Helloween & Blind Guardian sound like the use rollerblades so they are speed metal bands.- 7 replies

Thrash anyone? The new Bat record just went up for sale. CD & download have been available for awhile but vinyl just went up. There's 111 picture discs, a black, a clear & a white variant. I think the clear & white are like 500 each or some shit. http://shop-hellsheadbangers.com/bat-wings-of-chains-vinyl.asp

Forcing me to buy a tape with a record is like a prostitute forcing me to pay for a dry hand job after I had sex with her. I fucking hate tapes. -

Confirmed. This is fake. You'll only receive the sleeve & no vinyl. Like the time I ordered a human head from Eastbay & all they sent me was a stupid hat. Always read the fine print.
