  1. in anyone's experience(s) with Sumerian, do you think the preorders will go live at midnight or sometime Monday afternoon/ morning?
  2. Now the decision is do I trade in or wait? I'll probably wait.
  3. Update on orders. 1. The majority of the …Of Sinking Ships orders have been sent out. The final batch should be going out in the next couple days or so. Thanks for your patience in this long, frustrating process. The records turned out nicely and you will be pleased when they finally pop up in your mailbox. 2. Most of the White Octave LPs are pressed. We have the black and clear with white splatte...r copies. The plant did not press the green / white variant for unknown reasons, they instead just pressed more white splatter copies in place of them. The plant is running another 100 units of the corrected vinyl. They are estimating a completion on those of 11/6, so they should land at the Brooklyn warehouse around 11/12.
  4. Maybe he is DEFIANTLY not going back. Don't assume he meant definitely. Maybe he meant defiantly and forgot a comma.
  5. I have the warp but no real sound issues, but this one sounds slightly clearer (which could also be due to the fact I have recently upgraded table, cleaning/ antistatic brush, mat, and cartridge and stylus). Either way, no issues with BigBlack.
  6. Spinning "BigBlack" (named as such because of her physical characteristics as well as an homage to the band) right now and I have to say that it is the best version I have heard. I have one og, peach, grey, and "BB." I will say that the vocals are definitely in your face more, but there is NO noise or skips so far. I am on "Faint of Hearts" at the moment. I highly encourage the purchase of the 180g black over all others if you are just in it to spin it. I, on the other hand, have a variant collecting problem.
  7. Good Point. I really do want one, but I'll be damned if I pay actual money for it.
  8. It will be the most confusing one ever. People will be all "NO! That's not REALLY a record, you can't submit that!" While others will be all: "But it's part of the MONDO catalogue! We need it!" etc. A lot of voting, I'm sure. i just want to see what someone buys or sells it at. How much do you charge for a pretend vinyl?
  9. Go. If you have even a remote sense of humor buried somewhere in your brain (and especially if you are familiar with 1 or 2 Velvet Underground songs) you will enjoy yourself. I took my wife and a bunch of her friends who know nothing about VU or any non-pop-radio music at all and they all had a blast.
  10. Are you not experienced in the Pizza Underground? that is, have you not seen them live or at least listened to a recording of it?
  11. if i get one, I wil do it. If I don't I'll just pretend that I don't care about the ZED and cry alone in my office.
  12. Yes. Just bare with the first couple of issues of SSTB, they are a little...gap-y or hard to follow at times. Once you get to about issue 3 or 4, it's all pretty good reading.
  13. Just to steer this back on topic I do want to say this: I ordered the original cassette way back when it was first released and it is pretty good. However, I decided it was ABSOLUTELY necessary to see them live in Hamden, CT. They were not only funny and entertaining, but also quite interactive. I highly encourage the Live at Chop Suey cassette because it's undoubtedly hysterical and fun.
  14. MCA...nice ring to it. But if you are like a lot of newer bands with weird fucking names, I would go with "I Just Want Macaulay Culikin's Autograph (but I'm allergic to fun)." That way you can have an acronym referencing your name that is longer than some band's names un-acronymed. (TWIABPAIANLATD, EEIWALE, DFA1979, etc.)
