Coming up to about half way through this book now. Beginning took a bit of getting used too, Long seemed to set up a story only to abandon it after a chapter. The style has a purpose but for me it stunted the flow of the first sixty pages or so but not it's getting into the meat of the story it's been making my bus journey to and from work quite enjoyable.

An unnecessary rotation of New Balance//Nike//Asics. New job at Footlocker isn't going to help either.

Thanks, and to be honest there isn't anything wrong with being late to the party, I think AD will be a party that keeps going for a long time; at least I hope so anyway!

I cannot stand the style of comedy where a laughter track is used more as a cue (in my opinion) that a joke was made at all compared to shows such as AD where the jokes are sometimes so layered within themselves that they get funnier the more you think about them or if you get them straight away. Also, the Big Bang Theory is almost taking the stereotypes of the 'nerd' or 'geek' or whatever and playing up to them, for a wide audience who either don't care about comic books/science/*insert more 'nerdy' things here*, and therefore aren't aware of how dumbed down and diluted it is, or people who should really be aware that they themselves are above it. I can't really think of a programme before, or since, that has had me laughing so hard so regularly like AD. Edit: Seeing this thread on the home page did give me a rush of excitement that there was going to be another series...

It says that its released Oct 14, anyone care to speculate when DW will put their pre orders up? Or if it's even credible?

I can't seem to get on with pretty much anything they did post To The Beat..., it's not terrible just the sound change didn't appeal to me I think, but when I saw them last year again, it sounds much better live. Will probably grab this just to have another try.

What was this like? It's the right subject matter for me but never held a copy to flick through or read the first few pages to decide whether or not to buy. I've just finished Archangel by Robert Harris I read Fatherland by him and was thoroughly impressed and Archangel was no different, will definitely be buying more from him. Also finally got round to reading my copy of Dante Inferno too.

It's sort of false advertising, it's to stop someone buying wanting to buy X and being given Y, then having a bad experience and therefore blaming X and potentially affecting their business. Maybe it's just a UK thing; most uptight things are just a UK thing.

Lame response: They have to tell you they only have Pepsi because it's against the law to 'pass off' i.e.: sell you Pepsi when you ask for Coke and not tell you. Real response: Dr. Pepper.

Being from the UK, and buying lots from the US, I've come to terms with the fact that the quoted figure for shipping internationally is always wrong. However, there is always a note in the description which alerts you to the fact so unless they noted that the shipping may be more then I'd say the fault is theirs and that if they said they were shipping it economy mail then they should have shipped it as economy mail.

Maybe they only do labels for certain countries? I've never seen it myself but I stick with the PO now just out of ease; even though most of the people that work there aren't exactly friendly.

Yeah, I've messaged him to see if that's the cheapest he'll go. The most I think I've ever paid was like $30 and even then it was for multiple records.
