  1. Pulled the trigger. $64.70 just for shipping. Ordered a second one for a friend though so yeah, WalnutSoap, you're still leading the shipping price suicide squad.
  2. So for 2 of these I'm looking at about $60 just for shipping. Worst case $75. Not to mention customs. I cannot believe I'm not even considering not ordering. What's wrong with me. Seriously, how about second headquaters in Europe? Germany's got some niiice pressing plants y'know?
  3. Just came for the 666 post. Happy to find news on TLoU. Kinda sad to see I'm not getting that poster artwork on the cover though. 75$ is close to the bone but bearable for a 4LP boxset. Mondo-style I guess. Here, have a celebratory gif.
  4. Just listened to the Modern Vinyl Podcast with Justin Ishmael (where he announces that the TLoU release will be 4xLP). At one point around the 57 minute mark he's talking about crazy pressing ideas and mentions a test they are recently doing. A picture disk with feathers inside. Got me thinking. Could it be that Clint Mansell showed off a Black Swan test pressing? edit: just found the post discussing this in april. whoops.
  5. Bash it if you like, but this "Toc"-called prototype previously mentioned somehow got to me. It doesn't have the cringeworthy tonearm the Floating Record turntable has; I know though, there'll be many different problems with it, for example not being able to finetune, well, basically anything. Given the fact that they're both more conversation piece than record player I'd prefer the toc. Design-wise I think neither of them is perfect: The Floating Record TT design has something odd about it I cannot put into words, I guess it does have something to do with it having a long, rectangular base while the platter is just, well, floating there. It feels out of touch I think? Really like the belt drive solution though and the fact that it's more of a classic manually operated TT. The toc on the other hand made (imho) some weird choices with the on/off button making it look more like a mixture of a vintage Portal turret and a Hal2000 baby, additionally that silver layer seems kinda pointless to me. I do like how sleek and portable it looks though. I wouldn't mind seing more modern designs like this in the future, these turntables might not be necessary but then again, why are we talking about the whole thing in the first place? thehobby.jpg
  6. Just got a response. Btw the release got the people from The Verge to do an article about it so I suggest if you're still struggling, stop doing it now and get your copy before someone does who has no clue about the plural of 'vinyl'.
  7. Man, I really love this board for its community. Well maybe except for those "Vinyldaddy" & "I started colllecting vinyl 2 weeks ago, what do you think?" threads, those are just plain epic. Looks like fellow boardmember ᵒᴥᵒ might already help me out with this but thanks a bunch! Besides, I'm currently waiting for a reply from Ghostly, since I couldn't help but ask them whether the lenticular variant will indeed be exclusive to the store. I'll keep you guys updated. edit: Did the mods somehow figure out how to refrain one from writing vinyl+s? I edited this post like 3 times. Won't change. amazing.
  8. People, what's with all the hate? Clinging to the past much? Alright, to be fair, they used their old name in vain but if you can get over this and stop thinking 'Refused', this record is actually really enjoyable.
  9. Seriously? $30 shipping to Germany for the lenticular variant? wtf?
  10. Finally went for the Deluxe. 14 left btw. Right after purchase I've been redirected to the designated shopify order summary page. From there I could directly download the album, but it also says: A confirmation email has been sent to <email>. You will also receive an email with download links for your digital purchases. Regarding the adress, someone on fb asked the same: How can we change the address we'd like it shipped to? I may not be at the same address late summer. mewithoutYou Email [email protected] Hope this helps.
  11. YESSSSS! Just listened to What Went Down, damn, this LP is gonna be so brutally awesome.
  12. Wouldn't mind a compilation of their B-Sides on vinyl though (like MTB recently did) since some of their best work never made it onto the LP's. To this day 'The Forked Road' is one of my favorite tracks by them. Man, can't wait for this LP to drop, really hoping they tapped into darker territory this time around.
  13. Looks Sounds like PO'ing the new LP was a good call after all. Stoked!
  14. What he said. However, it seems like they couldn't find a foolproof way to restrict it to the purchase previously made, so they suggest to not"[...] share the link to anyone as [they] have very limited stocks for the item." edit: but of course.
  15. I see what you did there. Repent, sinners and ye shall be forgiven!
  16. How about no? I can only begin to imagine the rampage I'd start if I'd get a private link only to find that I can't order because someone weaseled their way in and stole my freakin reserved copy.
  17. Wow. I bet most people who were waiting for this response got to finally let go. Now this. I guess MyPlay Direct deserves a slow clap for this emotional rollercoaster. Waiting for BWALL and WalnutSoap's reaction now
  18. Here's the PO for Amazon in Germany (which also lists only 12 songs.) So there's usually 22mins per side on a LP but the whole soundtrack runs for about an hour. I don't know whether roughly 30 minutes per side are even possible, yet I can say that ~50% more than usual is a lot. So I doubt we'll get it without drawbacks. So we either get a stripped version with hopefully good range or a packed LP with crappy sound? Why the heck is it so difficult to make this a 2LP?
  19. Oh my God, it's finally happeni- HNNNNNNNNNNNNGGH
  20. Looks like I'm one of the luckier ones. Yes, there is surface noise but it's manageable, even over headphones. I don't come close to the many pops and crackles my pal's copy has but that doesn't change the fact that this repress isn't nearly as good as it should be, considering the complaints on the first pressing and who's involved in making them. ...Good thing we flipped a coin when deciding who gets which copy (we ordered together; I lost and got the one with the small seam split on top) edit: but as has been mentioned prior, the dynamics on this are totally awesome.
