http://alligator.org/articles/2009/05/19/news/local/090519_reggae.txt Renovated Reggae Shack Café reopens with upgrades --- Reggae Shack Café assured customers that “every little thing is going to be all right” with Jamaican restaurant’s reopening today at 11 a.m. The restaurant, 619 W. University Ave., had been closed since Feb. 8 for renovations. “We wanted to upgrade our look,” said Omar Oselimo, owner of Reggae Shack. “We wanted to enhance the Reggae Shack experience.” Renovations included expanded seating and an upgrade to the kitchen and air conditioning. “We have three times the amount of seats from before and a lot more space. We did a lot of little things to make it more comfortable,” Oselimo said. The restaurant also expanded the menu in response to customer requests, adding sandwiches such as jerk burgers and “currified” chicken sandwiches. Oselimo recommended oxtail, the Shack’s signature dish, for first time customers. “And if you’re vegetarian, then try the vegan steak or curry tempeh,” he said. The restaurant was originally scheduled to open Monday, but the date was pushed back to today due to “last minute details.” Oselimo said that they have received about 50 calls a day since they installed the phone line two weeks ago, so he expects it to be a “little crazy” when they reopen. “I am excited and look forward to providing delicious food and great service for a very long time in Gainesville, the best city in America to live in,” he said. In terms of great service, Chris Gilmore, a UF sophomore agrees. “People there are really nice, and they always greet you with a smile,” he said.“It makes the food taste better.”

Austin Lucas interviewed in Punknews.org
baseballhotdog replied to a topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I just read this about an hour ago. Yes, def a great interview! I do understand his issue with people being loud while he's playing. He even had to tell people in Gainesville to STFU when he played here in December. Everyone read it ASAP! -

At brunch yesterday.....
baseballhotdog replied to baseballhotdog's topic in Everything Else Message Board
It was breakfast food in the early afternoon. Brunch is soooo punk! -
So, I was having brunch with my girl yesterday afternoon. We were sitting outside and shortly after we order, Against Me! guitarist James Bowman and his wife sit at the table behind me. I see that he ordered a bottle of Guinness. As we left, I really wanted to say to him, "Pints Of Guinness Make You Strong", but decided not to because that would have been really dorky I've met James a couple of times, but we're definitely on a first name basis.

Frank Turner Question...
baseballhotdog replied to mutinyzine's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Yeah, I am hopeful that his stuff gets reissued on vinyl. The only Frank vinyl I have is; Campfire Punkrock 10" (available from VC) and the split he did with JONAH MATRANGA is on its way to me now. -------------------------------------------- Looks the album he just recorded will be put out by Epitaph in the US. Here is a twitter message he just sent; It's official: though I'm happily staying with Xtra Mile in the uk, last night I signed with Epitaph for the world. Fuck yes!! -
