Devon from The Takers was talking my ear off about Foundation last night. I guess that I should explore further. -

PO: GREEN DAY "39 Smooth" and "Kerplunk" LP/dbl 7"
baseballhotdog replied to a topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Ironically, Kerplunk was the first CD I ever bought. Up until then, it was all cassettes and vinyl. Green Day played Tampa in 1991 at the long-gone Star Club, where I used to work the door sometimes, too. Anyway, the band was hanging out at my friend's pizza joint, Ybor Pizza and Subs. I didn't know them at the time, but we hung out with them all afternoon playing foosball. They even shared their beer with me. They insisted I come to the show. A few months later when Keplunk came out, I went to buy it at Alternative Records (also long gone). The only format they had it in was CD. Although I didn't have a CD player at the time, I went ahead and bought it. Yeah, so I had to buy a CD player to hear it. I still have that CD along with my original 7"s. I just might have to pick these up. -
The Hold Steady opening for Dave Matthews Band
baseballhotdog replied to scottheisel's topic in Everything Else Message Board
I doubt most DMB fans will even see The Hold Steady at those shows. They'll be drinking with their buddies away from the stage. They probably wouldn't 'get' THS anyway - they'll yell "You suck - bring on Dave!". They might pick up a few open-minded DMB fans, but I don't predict a run on their vinyl, though. -

I have been wanting Iron & Wine's first release on LP and was excited to pick it up at such a great price. I guess I waited too long. I was putting together an order and had the record in my cart. When I went to check out, it was no longer available. Doh! -

THE OFFICIAL EBAY CRAZINESS THREAD
baseballhotdog replied to vinyljunkie's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
That won't sell. Even though there are more of them, I think red is more rare. Speaking of which: Someone should sell me a red copy. I agree - I don't think it will sell at that price. A couple of weeks ago, someone on ebay had a sealed copy of Nobody's Darlings for $12.99 BIN - it obviously didn't last long. -
WOLLARD vinyl color change. Yeah.

I can't recall off the top of my head..... ??? I'll take a look at it when I get home this afternoon and let you know. What color is the sleeve of your Fest pressing? -
WOLLARD vinyl color change. Yeah.
baseballhotdog replied to vardcore's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Ordered a 180 gram coke bottle. I like the new (correct) color options better. I already have a Fest pressing of the album, but wanted a 180 gram version, too. -

The Rays are hardly a farm team for other MLB teams; they were in the World Series last year...... But you didn't list teams, you listed farm teams for the other teams in MLB.

I wouldn't mind finding one of these - for sentimental reasons. I saw Crankshaft many times in Tampa in the very early 90s. Good times!

Gaslight Anthem & The Black Kids now playing HOH. The Faint & Ra Ra Riot cancel (I think I heard Broken Social Scene cancelled, too). -------------------- Official response on the Langerado cancellation and how it affects Harvest Of Hope: --------------------------------- Hey Everybody. First of all, thanks for being patient through all of this last couple days. As you imagine, it's been crazy trying to figure out to the extent that Langerado canceling had on us. We still haven't figured out everything quite yet...but hopefully by this weekend we will have it all worked out and do our best to re-do the schedule and have this up asap. I also want to say that across the board ALL the bands have been really amazing and supportive of HOH and doing their best to help us out. Unfortunately HOH Fest doesn't have the corporate support or money to be able to pay what many of these bands deserve. All the bands are doing their best to find other shows to make up for Langerado and to make up the financial lose as well. It's tough times out there for everyone and we totally understand this. We have had a couple bands cancel so far: the Faint & Ra Ra Riot But in awesome news, we added: GASLIGHT ANTHEM and BLACK KIDS We are still working on some other bands and will know soon. but to squash any rumors, we won't be having: Modest Mouse, Flogging Molly, Ryan Adams or Deathcab Would have been great, but, again understandably they could not. Well, thanks again everyone for being supportive and spreading the word! We are working into the wee hours of the night, drinking way too much coffee and not sleeping nearly enough. I promise you that everyone behind the scenes for the HOH Fest are working harder than they've ever worked before to help make this an awesome weekend! and I love em for it! I will post again soon when I find out anymore details! Ryan HOH Fest
