Crap! I just ordered this directly from Secretly Canadian earlier this week. Price is about the same, but shipping would have been cheaper. On this LP plus the Charles Bissell (Wrens) and Will Sheff (Okkervil River) split 7", the shipping charge was 7.60. Oh well, when I pull the trigger on the other Songs:Ohia Lps I want, I'll try to get them from VC first.

Picked up "Strays" on swampwater green and "Garage Rock" on white plus Jon's LP on black. I love these guys - and they love me. Jon kissed me on the cheek over the weekend. Hopefully, I'll be able to pick up the other colors soon, and eventually the CD, I suppose. Joining this board is doing a good job of emptying my wallet.

So mad at myself for not picking up one of these when I had the chance!

I talked to Devon at Saturday night's awesome Drag The River/Joey Cape/Ninja Gun/The Takers/Hawks and Doves show here in Gainesville and he said they should have the record out by SXSW (mid-march), but the actual street date would be in April, if I remember correctly. Maybe Virgil can verify this.

At Common Grounds in Gainesville, the merch area is elevated and has a great view of the stage.

Jon and I discussed me doing this in Gainesville about a month ago, since I did such a good job for him during The Fest. Hmm. ???

After reading this Hot Topic thread, I visited the only Hot Topic in the Gainesville area. They had this one little shelf of vinyl near the floor. All they had was a couple copies of Gaslight Anthem's SINK OR SWIM LPs, a couple of Planes Mistaken For Stars LPs, and about six other random LPs...that was it. I asked the person at the counter if that was all the records they had and she said, "Yep..that's it." Very disappointing.

Yeah, not too many places to actually buy records here in Gainesville. There used to be a nice little record store across from The Top a couple of years back called No Future Records. It's now a smoke shop. I try to get down to Vinyl Fever in Tampa when i get a chance.

I got The Banner "Frailty". Awesome art, but I'd like to trade it for something a little twangier like Two Cow, Ninja Gun, Drag The River, or similar... or even a Delicious Vinyl.

The Takers track is listed as "Curse Of A Drunk", but when I listened, it was actually the 'b-side' - cover of Neil Young and Crazy Horse's "Powderfinger". Just sayin'.
