I have used all three. I used to work on an iMac (Intel & G5), now I work on a Mac Pro (G5)... and I own an Intel Macbook pro. I love the Macbook pro, but if you are not going to be transporting your work often I would go with an older generation G5 Mac Pro, or an Intel iMac to save some $$. Check Apple's Refurb site daily (in the morning works best).
