  1. I understand what everyone is saying. I just look at it as I'm giving the band money and they're giving me something in return as a bonus. It's not like shop radio cast charging me $30 for a repress that someone already made. We're literally giving a band a sum of money to go and make the album that won't exist without the start up capital. I like the band and would give them a sum of money to see a new album even if I got nothing in return because I love the band and everything they've put out and would rather see something new from them then nothing at all. I don't know. I get it though. $50 is a tough pill to swallow especially if you only nominally like the band. I don't know. This is the 4th or 5th one of these projects I've supported. Like the RX Bandits for example, I could've gotten the vinyl for $20+ after the album was made, but I paid the $40 for the pledge thingy to know I was a part of actually a part of the album even bring made in the first place. I'm just rambling. It's a lot of money. I get it. They're already over $25k so they're fans obviously don't mind paying for the stuff.

You're wasting your time, people on this board love to shit on bands who have the nerve to try and make money. This happens whenever an album is crowdfunded, even though the basic idea is to put money directly into the pockets of creators and artists, because it is an imperfect system they come out of the woodwork to shit all over it. Because even though this board is practically the functional definition of consumerism, for some reason people here look at the idea of the very people who make the things they love living comfortably and it brings bile to the tips of their throats. I call it being, "aggressively retarded."

  2. Since insane people are still defending ross's actions, there are only a few possibilities of what happened here.

    (1) Ross secured the rights to the record with the band/label. Contracts were signed. Production starts. Ross receives tests. Band/label says "sorry, if it's okay, we'd like you to not press the record. Please find it out of the goodness of your heart to forfeit the money you've spent. Go ahead and sell the test pressings secretly through message boards or to people you know for a lot of money but don't tell anyone about it. We want you to look like you're doing something illegal." You can figure out the rest.

    (2) Ross starts the process before securing the rights. Ross didn't get the rights. Ross sells test presses. (maybe ross just really wanted one copy of the record, so he pressed 5 without rights to sell the other 4).

    (3) Ross is in negotiation for rights with the band/label. Ross is sure everything will work out, so he jumps the gun and gets tests ordered. Band/label doesn't sign contract, calls it off. Ross feels dumb for spending the money without having contracts but realizes he has 5 test presses to sell on the black market.

    (4) Ross secured the rights. Started the process but then the singer died. Decided to wait a bit to release it. But hey, might as well make some cash in the meantime.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it wasn't #1.

Insane = Defending someone from wild accusations that are mostly based on speculation

Sane = Writing a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' book of wild guesses about what happened to continue your 80+ page forum witch hunt.

I don't know Ross, or care about whatever dumb shit he may or may not have done in the past. I just really enjoy watching you guys and your gay little 90's rock drama horse shit.

    Carry on.

  3. I'm sure it cost money to have these made, etc.

That's what I love about music fans in general. Some of them actually believe that it's morally wrong if people make money off music. They seriously believe that they are not only entitled to the music they love, but in the format(s) they want, for as cheaply as possible, and that the people responsible for producing what they love should do it for free and live lives of poverty.

  4. I mean, are you happy when companies sell your phone number and you get random calls every single day?

I'm not happy when companies run sweatshops and pay children slave wages, but I don't see what that has to do with this. I mean if you got an email from Bridge9 that was promoting a Victory release would you cry foul?

  5. Post your email here then, you partial birth abortion.  Maybe some of us only signed up for one newsletter and not some inundation from random fuckwits abusing the rookie mistake of a bootlegger to try to sell us a bunch of shit we dont want.

Restating your position and adding your edgy cuss words and clip art isn't a counter-argument you weeaboo tard.

So you signed up for a video game vinyl newsletter and you're pissed because the guy's telling you about other video game vinyl? Oh no, you're pissed because you aren't interested in them, if he told you about one that you liked and bought you wouldn't say anything. But you're an entitled child who thinks the world should cater to your wants.

If you don't want to be advertised to just ask him to take you off the list. Oh wait you can't because you want to buy his shit, just because he's putting out a product you want doesn't mean he has the right to use his newsletter to promote other projects.

I mean, doesn't he know what a fucking baby you are?

  6. Who cares? Delete the email and move on with your life. I get emails from labels I stopped buying records from years ago, telling me about albums I don't care about. Who fucking cares?

Put me on the list! Gotta get on that email list! I'm not getting emails, halp! Wtf is this? This isn't exactly what I wanted! Hey guys I got an email about something I don't want!

Honestly how do some of you manage to shit outside of your pants?
