  1. Mine showed up yesterday. Everyone seems to be getting them this week, so just hold out for another few days!

Ended up being #17/250. Jacket is fine other than a really small seam split on the top (due to the LP not being shipped outside the jacket.) The LP is a bit rough in spots on the outer edge of the wax, it was just cut that way. Center hole is also a bit messy, but these are just nitpicks. Typical signs of a self-released record where they probably used a cheaper pressing plant.

As for the sound, I'll be spinning it immediately after work tonight, so I'll report back on that.

  2. I saw them at a very small venue/room where Adventures opened up for them. They filled the ENTIRE place with fog, you couldn’t see 2 people in front of you. The organizers tried stopping the show one song early, turning the lights on and saying “shows over! Thanks everyone!”  because of all the fog, but Whirr ignored it and played the final song lol. It was packed. I have some great video from it.

I had good earplugs in, so the sound didn’t bother me, but it was LOUD, the vocals were definitely low, almost nonexistent. It’s still one of the most memorable shows I’ve been to, the atmosphere was great. The instruments weren’t terrible sounding, but it was all so loud that if you didn’t have earplugs, there’s no way you’d be able to decipher what was going on.

Still haven’t seen EWS but does the final track sample from it?  Sounds a lot like Distressor’s opener which instantly gave me “full circle” vibes, I agree.

I haven’t heard the album yet but someone else said it was from the end of EWS. Whereas Distressor was a clip from the beginning of EWS. See the movie, it’s so atmospheric and the vibes just fit so well with Whirr’s aesthetic and vibes. They played a whole ass monologue from a scene in the film at the end of their set years ago.

That would have been a cool tat to get. Also I would like their logo banner that they would put up at shows. Come to think of it, I see lots of bands putting up those huge banners but I’ve never seen any for sale. I think bands just hoard them.

Exactly! I was so tempted to get it tatted there, but it would've been my first tattoo (I've gotten 2 since then) and I was too nervous haha.

The flag they had for sale was 46"x46"!

  5. Order #19 here! I am beyond ecstatic for this comeback, and went straight to the site as soon as they posted the link. Ordered without an ounce of hesitation. And the teaser sounds fantastic, I was laughing with excitement listening to it like 15 times.

Literally right before their merch got removed from the Graveface store years ago, I was about to buy their logo flag, and have been hoping to find one online ever since. I search for one every so often, but they never show up. I wonder what Graveface did with the remaining merch? EDIT: Run For Cover... not Graveface.

I remember fans getting their logo tatted on them in the tour van by their tour manager when I saw them live (which I think was the final tour before the drop.) Man that would've been a great memory/story to tell.

  6. Yeah, not sure what older releases they restocked. I skimmed through the catalog yesterday to see if anything new was there, hoping for The Thing or related long sold out pieces, but nothing caught my eye. I did snag the Midsommar LP though.

That being said, their new "31 days of Halloween" releases have mostly been junk to me so far. Maybe toward the end of the month we'll get more quality stuff.

apparently Doyle from Cloakroom quietly replaced Brandon?

    Wonder what happened

Brandon's been completely under the radar for quite some time, and they haven't addressed the fans about it. Hopefully he's doing alright, and that it wasn't due to personal friction between them. He's an essential part of the band IMO.

  8. My turntable (AT-LP120) sits atop an IKEA Kallax with records underneath. When I walk anywhere near the thing, vibrations can be heard through my speakers, so obviously it's effecting the sound quality at least a little. Plus it's annoying.

Anyone here have something that will dampen the vibration? Do you own a product that does this (special feet for the turntable/isolation pad) that you'd recommend? Links please!
