Not sure if this belongs here or in the Shoegaze thread or in the Sludge/Doom thread, but I’m putting it here because I think it’s where I heard of the album, but I got a Bandcamp message that a new vinyl pressing of Palehorse/Palerider’s “Burial Songs” is going up on Friday. Looks like it will be on Bandcamp. Not sure how many are being pressed.
Great record. Got mixed reviews on this board when it came out but I keep going back to it. Even more poignant since their drummer passed.

If you weren't lucky enough to score Messa's new one "Close" on Bullmoose for $25, the label is doing a repress. Their previous label, Aural Music has RP Belfry 2xLP D side etched, and still some copies of Feast For Water LP. ( I know, $hipping)
Nice. I'll have to see if my local shop can get the Close repress.

I sell my artwork in a tent at festivals and markets. A couple of thoughts:
- Make sure you know what the sales tax req's are for your locality/state. You may have to register as a biz (sole proprietor) in order to collect tax. My town is pretty strict on this, but ymmv. If you aren't going to do this that often, you may be able to just get a special event/festival permit. Again, varies by state.
- Put together an enticing display of your best items to just get people in. A bunch of crates of records doesn't really have a broad appeal. Everyone loves album art though.
- Be super personable and have a good story to tell about yourself and why you're doing this. People will open up their wallets more readily when they feel like they have a connection to you.
- If you can afford to get some stickers printed up or get any other custom cheap swag, do it.

Anyone know the cheapest shipping option for the new Saor to the US?

Anyone posted Amarok yet? Crushing, epic funeral doom. FFO: Cough, Chrch, Bell Witch, Indian, etc.

Pretty stoked, a clear w/red splatter copy of Horseback Battle Hammer popped up on discogs for $50 CAD, so now I don't have to keep bugging Jon about a repress
That's lower than I've seen any of it's variants for a while!
Damn. How was the shipping?

so.... i know I missed this group buy. anyone up for another? they have multiple variants of myra up on bandcamp plus skarntyde on black vinyl.

https://spurv.bandcamp.com/album/skarntyde
shipping seems to max out at $30 which is terrible for ordering just 2 records but awesome for 10+. let me know if anyones up for grouping (USA only, suckas). not sure if the dual color black/grey for myra is a new color as i dumbly was not following the original group buy discussion, but some might be interested in another variant if so. just got the bandcamp email this morning for the vinyl
I'd prob be down for Skarntyde if this gets traction.

Hahaha was actually listening to Toundra (digitally) just now.
Still waiting on my copy (as well as Spurv) from Amazon.ca. I'll let you know how that sounds once I get it.
Nice heads up on getting Spurv from Canada. Ended up being $3US cheaper than ordering from the states, even with shipping.

Remember what they were charging for the regular green Sleep?
The definition of fucking bonkers.
They corrected the price and issued refunds. Can't argue with that.

Anyone received this yet?

Yeah it seems financially unwise for him to release a trilogy on vinyl, considering the /300 of Anomie is still available. (And that album got a lot of acclaim last year.) If he were to issue an editted-down 2LP version of the new stuff, I'd buy in a heartbeat.

Giant Squid was always an interesting act. Been looking forward to this.

I stumbled on this album because I follow Unreqvited (Canada), who I discovered because they're on the same label as Violet Cold (Azerbaijan), and when the former posted it on FB I recognized the cover artist as a local (Colorado) that I've met a couple times and bought a few prints from. The internet is crazy.
But yeah, good album.

Didn't happen to me, but it wouldn't let me checkout using my card. Kept telling me my billing info didn't match (it was correct), so I gave up and went through PayPal
Yeah it gave me that notice as well. Then I got the text message from my cc company. *shrug*
-
Anyone else have their cc flag Southern Lord as a fraudulent charge? No biggie as I could just PayPal but still weird.
-
Yeah they don't do the big crescendo thing. That's not really a fault, imho.
-
Check out Watter. They infuse acoustic & world sounds with occasional forays into heavier chords & drone-y stuff. Really lush textures and arrangements. And they only have 2 albums so it's not a big commitment.

I hope it's pink enough!

Shit that's good.

Yeah I got hung up on the first try but the second went through.

I dunno. I have their complete discography and have seen them a couple times, and for the life of me can't tell you what they're "about". They sound nice and they're a fun show, but I have no idea what ethos they carry that drives them to make this style of music. This makes them distinctly different to me wrt other bands I listen to in the atmo-black/gaze/whatever genre.
