Well it looks like I don't have to worry, my lady ordered the colored LP already.
-
Been looking forward to this, I was hoping it would be on Spotify for a preview though, but no sign yet.
That live video is amazing!

Kelpe is awesome and he's just announced a new album coming out in August, The Curved Line.

My girlfriend is super stoked, maybe I should order her the color album. What color is it though? No details on the pre-order page.
It was also announced this morning that they're playing here 2 days after the release.

I'll admit, it's the only copy I can remember hearing. I think my friend might have spun the original press at my place once but I don't have a clear memory of it. It's quiet and nice sounding but it's like all the low end was sucked out of it, the bass is barely audible.
Bass is important on that album. I'll proceed with caution. I really don't want to pay $29.99 for the Newbury copy anyway.

I like Tuesday releases, they give me something to look forward to after a weekend. They make Mondays more exciting. On weekend, I'm generally trying to do life things but I listen to music when I work and commute to/from work. But whatever. I can always grab the albums over the weekend and listen starting Monday if I don't have the chance on the weekend.

Gonna hold off until the digital download... Not too long to go. I like one single, but don't like destroying an entire album by knowing some songs more...
Im the same way. No need to get an uneven wear on the album.
Yup yup, I'll listen to a single once and get a feel for what the album might sound like, but I'll generally leave it at that. Really excited to hear the album.
Also I may actually go see them live next month...in my 13 years of fandom I never made it out to their shows! But I always loved the image of Aaron practically standing on his head while screaming. I'm certain his stage antics have changed in that time though.

According to United Pressing's instagram they are doing up Lou Reed's Transformer for Newbury.
The Transformer repress looks really nice - but I recently picked up a red 1972 pressing so I can't justify it.
Marquee Moon, on the other hand, I only own on CD and have been on the lookout for a vinyl copy. The price of the Music on Vinyl repress has kept me from picking it up, but this edition might sway me. Wish I knew the vinyl weight. The other 2 Newbury exclusives I have seem to be 180 or more.
I was wondering what happened to the rapid-fire pace of these presses. Magenta Marquee Moon looks pretty nice, but I'm not sure if I can justify it - I was a little underwhelmed with the low-end on my Music On Vinyl repress.
Have you heard other pressings? Just curious if originals or early represses sound significantly better.

When I saw this headline yesterday there was no doubt in my mind it was from the Onion. *facepalm*
Then again, I wasn't yet aware of the upcoming global shift to releasing music on Fridays. Still sounds like they're making things more complicated than necessary.

this hypnophobia album is a solid listen. if you like it you should check out the holydrug couple - moonlust album as well.
I liked The Holydrug Couple's previous album, but I haven't gotten around to their latest yet.

This just showed up from Amoeba today...
Is the back label off-center? Or is that just the sleeve window showing through the translucent vinyl? I'm guessing the latter.
Congrats on the score! It's a sweet looking blue.

I fucking love this band. I have everything on CD though, maybe one day I'll pick some up on vinyl. Versus God is my fav.
-
Damn the new Pow! is good.
-
3rd pressing up here, not sure the numbers on them but two albums I've wanted for quite some time now.
Weird album covers.
I loved the shit out of this band and both of their albums. Still much respect, they'd be on a list of favorites for the genre, I just don't find myself in the mood for them very often or ever anymore. Not enough to buy represses anyway.

And we thought Brand New was going to be the hardest RSD release to find
But...this isn't an actual RSD release. It just happened to come out that day.
-
Solid track, nothing wow-y on the first pass, but good. It's on Spotify too.
-
New Pow! album sounds nice from the samples, I might like it more than the last.
-
New Fuzz...looking forward to it. And where's the next Ty Segall album proper? Seems like he's taking his time.

Alright then. Kind of nice to see a mix of what people are into day to day instead of seeking out specific genres one at a time, but I'll poke around. I'm not into much stoner/doom stuff though.

Tamer Animals is great, planning to listen to the new one soon.

Ugh, I hate early streams when I've pre-ordered an album or intend to buy it on release date. I'm holding out!
