Just saw them last night in Cambridge and they fucking RIPPED. I’ve seen RFTC, Jehu, Obits, and honestly think this might have been the best. The new songs have me pumped too.

I meant to come back in here and post after the show last Sunday. RIPPED is accurate! What a fucking blast that was. I've not seen the other bands but that was definitely one of the most ripping shows I've seen in some time.

Another variant available from the UK. On red & black marbled. Actually some back cover art already in place for this one as well

I just ordered this one too. The inclusion of back artwork and labels, plus nice looking not overdone vinyl color sold me overall.

I thought I was just going to grab ONE version of this record and I've just ordered two already. Hope nothing super awesome comes out anytime soon or ever. Doubtful.

Another one up through the Vinyl Record Raffle Community, the guy pressing this one raffles a lot of rare and uncommon Gizzard stuff and is a big fan, I presume he would be making use the quality is high on this. Sounds interesting

This looks great, love the alternate artwork and vinyl color. My first order. Shipping to PNW is more expensive than the record itself, but it was priced low enough that overall it comes out to a fair price.

  4. Well the album is certainly great - up to now for me it was Microtonal > Brunswick > Murder and it may surpass them all. Not sure where Polygondanaland is going to fit yet - we'll see with repeat listens - but it could surpass them all. Microtonal and Brunswick are kind of tied for me at the moment, they're so different it's hard to rate one over the other. But yeah Murder is definitely my least favorite.

  5. Crazy how many labels have jumped on this already. Interesting to see all the variants (colors, as is typically the variant), but even more so how the different labels are going to handle artwork and packaging. The cover is the cover, but they're including a bunch of files for designing the back, insides, inner sleeves, A/B labels, etc. so there's a TON of possibilities for these to come out wildly different from one another, aside from vinyl color.

Holding out on this, personally. Not sure why. In a way I'd like to know more about packaging and make a selection based on that, but with how limited all of these are going to be and how rabid the fanbase is, waiting isn't going to work in my favor.

Had no idea they were playing.  Seattle tickets sold out of course.  Wish I would pay more attention to shit like this.

I feel like they sold out within a week of going up - glad I jumped on them the first day. Had a feeling after Drive Like Jehu sold out at Showbox much earlier than I expected (I held out thinking I had plenty of time), that Chop Suey would sell out really fast. And it did.

  7. Orange jewel case or not, with a white sleeve you could really have any color vinyl for Automatic Midnight and I wouldn't complain. But I'm really not feeling the pink vinyl paired with the red Audit in Progress sleeve. That's my least favorite so I'm not hard-pressed to get it anyway. I have Suicide Invoice, may pick up Auto Midnight at some point.

Definitely excited for the new album and seeing them Sunday night!

I agree that album is not great. Quasi-metal for people who don't listen to metal, and tons of annoying voiceovers that are mixed WAY too loud.

Agreed that the voiceovers are far too loud/dominant and would have been better off used subtly. And they really don't work in the live show since (depending on the show's sound production) it's difficult to make out what's being said and they just come off as a distraction.

I LOVED their Microtonal show earlier in the year (perfect sound separation and great set of songs), but the second time earlier this month it was a more muddy experience (different venue, inferior sound) and far too repetitive. I feel like they only played tracks from Nonagon, Microtonal, and MOTU. And we know Nonagon and MOTU are repetitive as hell. I felt bad bringing my new g/f who was just getting into them.
