Guess I never realized these albums are so hard to find/pricey.  I got a couple different pressings of Bites for $5ish and recently found Too Dark Park for $10 all at my local used shops. I do really need to track down Mind and Rabies at some point. I don't love earache's business practices so I'm hoping someone else re-releases those when the time comes.

$10 for Too Dark Park?! :o  Last I checked it was difficult to get anything in decent condition lower than $75 on Discogs. Bites & Remission easily fetch $60 as well. Actually, that's what they're listed for. Doesn't mean they're selling.

  2. Drag City isn't on streaming services like Spotify though. So we end up resorting to illegal downloads.

I do have a ton of unused DL cards though - but that's if I buy a physical copy of a record long after it was released and I've already streamed it and/or downloaded it for offline listening. If I buy something on release or pre-order, that's when a DL card comes in handy. Especially if you can't stream it. But I digress...it's not too difficult to find it elsewhere.

I hear this complaint often, but they could charge what other labels charge too, but instead they price their stuff low and don't charge shipping if you live in the US. But give someone a reason to complain, and they will. Every. Damn. Time.

It's true. People even complain about complaining.

It's true their prices are quite reasonable. Been a while since I ordered something directly from them so I wasn't aware/forgot about free US shipping. If things aren't limited I tend to just pick them up at a local shop on release, to avoid unnecessary packaging and potential delays.

  4. I followed NIN's career and purchased all albums (on CD back then) up through The Slip. I didn't love any of them as much as the run from Pretty Hate Machine to The Fragile, but I still enjoyed them. That said, sometime between The Slip's release and Hesitation Marks, something happened and I just can't handle his voice anymore. It sounds so inauthentic that no matter how good the music may be I just can't seem to care about this anymore. We all know he's not an angsty teen or 20-something anymore and hasn't been for a long time, and I certainly picked up on that shift a long time ago, but maybe it's just in the last few years I can't even bother anymore.

Have you looked at the album cover? I guess its a christmas album lol

There's a difference between using red and green shapes (actually they are more burnt orange and mint) in a piece of art and "red and green swirl". If they match the tones used on the cover, cool. But I'm expecting more standard red an green on the vinyl. I hope I'm wrong.

That's because In Case.. isn't the true live recording of the show, it was partially re-recorded in a studio and overdubbed to the moon and back, including re-recording and replacing all the vocals (most evident on Thieves which Ogre sang at the show but on In Case... it has Al's vocals on instead).

I saw them on this tour and had countless bootleg tapes of the show including this one (though nowhere near the good sound quality of this new LP release). It always pissed me off how much of that In Case... record was bullshit re-recordings and I've always hated that record as a result.

Needless to say I'm ecstatic with this new live album which is the true live recording of the show. I happily forked over the cash for one despite the crappy cover art.

    I wasn't aware of this - thanks!

I can also vouch for grabbing the LP direct from the band if possible. I was able to grab their 1st & 3rd records for $15 each on tour and had a pleasant chat with various band members both times.

Good call. But since the album will be out a full month before they play in my city, and Drag City doesn't do streaming, I'll probably pick it up at a local shop on release day.

My local shop had the blue for $28 and I got a free poster.  I remember they sold the White A Moon Shaped Pool a lot cheaper too.

That's a great price. Seems all my local shops are asking $38-39 which is still ok for a 3-LP release.

I was really tempted to pick it up this weekend, and my local shops seem to have plenty of blue variants, but ultimately I decided I didn't need this. I really love the shade of blue and how perfect it is for the album, but I just really don't need to spend the money on this. Ended up spending about $250 on records this weekend anyway, not including a few on Discogs.
