On the topic of goalscorers stepping outside of their roles and dropping the gloves -- does anyone remember when Ovechkin got into that fight with a GOALTENDER back in 2006? I can't remember who it was. He must have skipped that day in rookie school when they were being taught that only goalies fight other goalies and phenoms aren't supposed to fight at all. Hilarious.

I'd rather watch Buffalo as well. Took the short trip down the QEW to catch Toronto away games fairly often when I lived there. A glimmer of hope for tonight: Detroit has lost 3 of their past 5 and hasn't won back to back since mid-March. But... Detroit has won 15 of the last 17 against Buffalo. Ouch. Good luck, Sabres fan.

Owen + Unwed Sailor doesn't really seem like a fit, you know? In talking with Johnathan last night, it turns that the first City on Film live show was with -- yep -- Unwed Sailor. It was also one of the first Unwed Sailor shows as well. I tried to talk Johnathan into doing some "Unwed Sailor" versions of old Roadside Monument songs live -- as kind of a special gift to old school fans. While he didn't seem too enthusiastic about the idea, he didn't say no entirely. I think it would be rad, personally.

Don't see too much love on this board for this amazing group of musicians. Saw them last night for the fourth time -- never a dull moment. Talked at length with Johnathan and Nathan about upcoming projects (expect a new full length in addition to the retrospective collection History later this year) and just generally shot the shit. Great bunch of guys. Great band.

What kind of drinking? Drinking because I like the taste? In that case -- wine or scotch. Drinking because it's refreshing? In that case -- cold beer. Lots of it. And not that cheap shit either. Drinking because, shit, because I can? See above. Drinking because I want to get drunk? All of the above + strong drinks. I'm a beer snob, but PBR from plastic cups at shows just can't be beat.

I really enjoyed the Jukebox set, actually. It was fun. And Unwed Sailor -- this will be the fourth time I've seen them. They seem to play in Tampa every third month or so, for some reason. Not that I'm complaining, of course. Johnathan Ford is pure class. The best was when I saw them with Sybris. There was about 12 people there including myself. I got shitfaced with the bands. Angela from Sybris took a breather between songs and smoked half of one of my cigarettes. Good times.

Lucky for the offense Martin Gerber was between the pipes. Leafs are horrid this season. On a separate note -- Atlanta should just pretend they're out of playoff contention and just try to fuck with other teams chances all season long. It seems to make them play better.

...better times than I thought. Tonight was a wife show, but I actually enjoyed it. We also had a sit-down with Ben at the sushi restaurant prior to the show. He mentioned it in his set, which was pretty cool. Sunday = Unwed Sailor -- definitely a me show. Weekend is shaping up nicely.
