  1. So earlier in the thread I complained about the USPS losing my package and I feel the need to give a shout-out to MerchNow as a follow up:

I emailed them letting them know that the package was MIA. They responded swiftly letting me know that they would file a claim with USPS and get back to me in 1-2 weeks.

I waited about three weeks and then sent a follow-up emails asking if there had been a resolution. Another swift response saying that they would move forward with either a refund or a replacement, whichever I choose. I naturally chose the replacement. ;-)

They shipped it two day priority, packed like a tank. Very awesome problem resolution - I'm impressed! This is also the very first time that I've 100% lost an item, so I am still counting my lucky stars considering how much mail order I do.

Sorry for the novel. I wanted to spread a little positivity.

  2. I cannot believe that label still exists. We need to convince the label to just give the shit away because it's doing no one any good sitting on a shelf.

edit: The proper remaster on that record would do it some righteous justice. holy shit would it be brutal.

Even though I bet it would take me forever to sell thorough 300 copies, I would spend all of my monies to license 7A7P, get it fully remixed/remastered, get new artwork and be the happiest person alive.

    Maybe one day!

  3. Placed an order with No Sleep Records on October 30th, 4 records in total. All of them had downloads available via their website immediately available. Well 2 of the 4 were corrupted files and so they wouldn't open. I emailed them on October 31st about it and got no reply, so I emailed them again this morning and still no reply. I even sent them a tweet and a comment on Instagram. I seen in a previous post they had a Twitter account just for support, but it said no user found when I tried to send a tweet to @NoSleepSupport

I seen Google once. They had all of my digital downloads.

  4. I'd also be into 7 Angels 7 Plagues.

If you're looking for an ideas man, I'd happy consider quitting my full time gig. ;-) ;-)

I actually haven't heard any Ghosts & Vodka stuff - will you send me some tunes to check out?

As for 7A7P, I have been SO CLOSE to making it happen a couple of times, but the band doesn't want for the label that owns the rights to get another single penny for that Jhazmyne's Lullabye. Apparently the band is already owed tons and tons of royalties, and they are pretty spiteful of it.

I haven't given up because they're interested in making it happen...I just have to convince them that it's worth it.

  5. ^ This. Convinced my buddy to put in an order for 2 variants. More MOM records please.

Thanks! I saw this order - you rock!

We've got some great stuff in the pipeline including the debut LP from The Skulx (ex-Foxy Shazam, Cadaver Dogs) as well as a reissue that I think a lot of people are going to really love! I don't want to get everyone super stoked for it just yet because I just got the tests and it will (obviously) still be a while for production, but stay tuned!

  6. Can anybody recommend some poly sleeves? I'm finding I have a lot of double LPs that don't fit very well in the bagsunlimited ones I used to buy.

    Buy the BU ones, but get the 12 3/4" x 12 3/4"

If you keep a sack of those handy along with a sack of the 12 5/8" ones, you're covered for most single and double LP pressings that come out these days

  7. For anyone that's received theirs, does Calculating Infinity actually have a spine you can read? It's never had a proper single-sleeve release, just a fold over flap sleeve which is super lame and why I always avoided it.

You should support original, creative releases versus uninspired packaging because this vinyl bubble is quickly sucking the life out of the literal endless possibilities for any pressing.

I - for one - would pay extra for anything that isn't in a standard jacket (or standard gatefold) for pretty much any release in my collection.

  8. Licensing is not nearly as expensive as the apologists on this board want to assume. It seems like a huge number, but when you divide it between 2K units, it gets small pretty quickly.

Assume that the pressing costs $8-9 and that the licensing is $10K. That only adds $5 to the unit cost. $10K is a HUUUUGGGEEE amount of money for licensing, FYI.

Also, even if the source is digital, it just takes a decent lacquer job to avoid IGD. Doesn't add a dime to the cost of the pressing.

  9. We gave our boys in The Skulx a second lathe cut to go along with their second single "Suckin' On Stars" and they had it with them at their CMJ showcase, and then they put a few copies online...and then they sold out super fast!

We held onto a couple of copies (along with the "Do What You Do" single) and will be putting them online at some point in the future.  In the meantime, you can drool over how good it looks:
