I don't think their merch table was limiting the amount of tour copies per night. I went by the merch table between La Dispute and Thrice and it was packed. Went back about an hour into the Thrice's set and it was still packed but I waited and had no problem getting a copy. I saw a lot of people walking around the show with them.

I didn't see you.  We would've invited you for dinner if I knew!

Yeah, TS&D has pretty much been kept in print by SS since its release. There have been periods of a year or two without a new press but there has always been stock floating around until they press it again. The first two albums and EP however have been out of print for a few years now. Oxeneers has been longest out of print even when new old stock of TIMTHY have shown up in stores. Easter copies may still be hiding somewhere but at all the usual suspects its out of stock. I have a had a number of copies of Oxeneers and TIMTHY and they really could use a repress if for no other reason than the fact that many of the copies I've come across are pressed off center and have a very obvious pitch fluctuation throughout the majority of the playback.

Let's not forget that the split with Harkonen is still available as well. ;-)

im down to about 40-ish copies though and I plan on bringing some to the show on Sunday in case Brian wants to peddle some on his upcoming tours. Act now, children.

Just south of $30 for me, but I'm right there with you.  The base price is not attractive in itself, but that $6.00+ Media Mail is what really stumps me.  If someone from a record label is reading this point and doesn't mind clarifying – why is it that it costs me $3.22 to ship an LP or a double LP here in the U.S., with cardboard inserts, and (recently-included) tracking... but many web outlets are charging me $5-7 for the same exact service?  It's lost on me.

I'm no pro, but my guess is that it has to do with using a third party shipping service like Hello Merch. They probably charge the label a certain dollar amount per package as a "handling fee" or something.

Then you have two options: You can either add that charge directly to your shipping costs or into the price of the product. Now, it's kind of savvy to put it in your shipping costs because it remains unseen until almost the very end of the checkout process. Most people, once you've gone so far as to triple check your mailing address, likely don't back down at that point. However, they might if the initial cost of the item is $2-$3 higher.

Thank you for this!  Was so excited to get a different version of the Stick Up Kids EP that I needed!  2 down, 2 to go.

That one is from my personal collection, my friend!  I kept one of each color and a "box set" for myself, but - for the sake of space - decided to just keep the box set.  Glad you were fast enough to score a variant that you needed!  Your collection has got to be getting close!

  5. You asked for it, and you got it!  We already gave our mailing list folks first crack, but there are still some test presses and some rarities up for grab via the link below.  It's not "live" on the site, so you need the link to access it.

    SUPER SECRET MOMR VAULT LINK

I can't believe that I still have some Our Lady and Brett Detar tests left, but you guys should also grab the Metavari tests because 1.) the songs are killer 2.) the jacket is awesome.  Also, the golden ticket variants for the Bad Rabbits 7"s are going fast!

Just getting around to listening to the actual albums now.....Playing them on a Debut Carbon with Ortofon 2M red....Marantz Pm6005.....Wharfedale 10.1s (stock VC set up? Hahaha)

Ride sounds awesome to be honest.....One of the better sounding presses i have ever heard....i think it competes with my OG Japanese pressing and Canadian Pressing that i harp on about. Its ballsy. Not a massive difference and not being played on the greatest set up of all time......but its probably going to be my go to from here on in

The record itself is flat as a tack (amazon shipped) no warps and its a heavy slab as well......came dust free and clean as.

Im stoked i picked it up......to be honest i mainly got it for the extras (massive fanboy) but im really happy with this pressing as well

Ill have a listen to KEA at some point

Bring on Puppets in US Fall......Spring for us Aussies

I just picked this up and am awaiting delivery. I'm on the fence about picking up KEA until I hear more about the remaster. Let me know your thoughts!

  7. lol no dude. Split inners happen, it's lame but that's not why I was emailing them.

I emailed them because of the shitty packaging job they did, to make them aware, so that nobody else would have to deal with this.

I wasn't asking for a free record, I was just saying "Uhh, guys... maybe next time you should give a shit?"

I wish I took a picture. They literally used 2 small tufts of wadded up paper in this mailer that could fit 3 records in it. That, and 2 pieces of cardboard. You could shake the record around inside!

EDIT: Okay, reading back on my original post, I see how you guys would think my issue was solely with it coming with split seams.

I ordered the same record from the same place and mine was packed the same way - you are just being dramatic. Yes, the pieces of packing paper were small, but they served to fill the gap in which other records could've fit in the box. It was just fine.

This is the perfect example of why the cost of records continues to climb. Apparently labels need to factor in a certain amount of loss because someone is going to panic about seam splits and require a refund or replacement.

  8. My postive recent experiences:

Earache Records - Got a not-great looking copy of the new Cult of Luna "Somewhere Along The Highway" album. Lots of scratches, no play affected though. Phil mailed me a new one, free of charge. SUPER AWESOME.

Deathwish - the new Bossk record "Audio Noir" has now come twice to me scratched, in the Mint Green /700 variant. Caleb has offered a 3rd replacement. SUPER AWESOME label.

IndieMerch - Got my copy of the yellow "Mariner" variant by Cult of Luna, and they packaged it like shit. Album plays fine, but came with seamsplits in all the inner sleeves. They've sent me a new one, free of charge. Very awesome customer service.

Hobbledehoy Records - Bought a bunch of Fourteen Nights At Sea stuff, and Tom threw in a free copy of This Will Destroy You "Another Language" and an Arrows album I don't know, for free. Dude is awesome.

With the exception of maybe the Bossk record, you sound like the worst type of customer there could be. You emailed over split inner sleeves?! Honestly, that CoL/JC collar was packaged great from IndieMerch...
