  1. Dude, I feel your pain. It is so maddeningly frustrating. I waited outside that bus everyday during SxSW, and I wasn't always at the front of the line, and yes, it takes *FOREVER* I watched it happen. There's dude taking orders he asks you, he bumbles in the back, finds your stuff, then brings said stuff, but then gets someone sitting on a couch in the van to figure your total on a *calculator* tells you the total, then takes your money or credit card, disappears from the window for a while(still holding your stuff), then returns with your change/card and hands over your stuff. I've been to mom & pop shops that ran smoother. There's a take-away menu of items you can order to browse in line, for what good it ever does. I know it's new and they're working out the kinks, but certainly there's some way to speed it up?
  2. Quick question all you MBD fans... What is on the bonus 7" that comes with the silver pressing of Who Will Survive?
  3. I've got the AT-PL120 and I love it. Great entry table and when you upgrade the catridge (I've got the AT440MLa) it's even better.
  4. Just wanted to say I got my standard box set on Monday and aside from most of them being quite dirty/dusty, they sound great!! It's a very nice package, easily one of the nicest vinyl sets I've had the pleasure of owning. Look forward to rediscovering each album vinyl style...
  5. So I'm pretty sure Fist is unlisted, but still on here. I listened and sure enough, unless I wasn't paying attention close enough, there it was. Anyone listened and can confirm/deny?
  6. Any chance anybody has a pic of the pink vinyl yet? Less than a week away...didn't we have Around the Fur pics this close to the release? I'm just really eager. It's cool having the pic disc, but I can't wait to blast this one on high quality vinyl.
  7. They should be up online soon. Looks like those just came in over there. Not all of our retail stores carry vinyl but I ordered a few bigger titles to put in all stores, even the ones that dont typically carry vinyl. Stuff like Marley, Tool, The Beatles, Sublime... Thanks Travis. My girlfriend is just eager as hell to get this and has been bugging me lately to make sure I didn't miss it so I thought I'd check since I hadn't heard anything in a while. And that makes sense about those titles, I guess the juxtaposition of the two records and the way she said it was just really funny.
  8. Any word on when this will be available on the website Travis? As a funny side story, I was passing through Katy, TX which has a HUGE mall that includes a HT over the past weekend and thought I'd call to see if they had it. A girl tells me, "we have two records. Bob Marley and Tool." WTF? HAHAHA....
  9. Wow, so maybe the box set will show up in few days! How exciting... At least from a thorough MP3 listen-through of their catalog, I like Red of Tooth and Claw the best, which apparently most think is their worst? Weird. I dunno, I guess since I saw them in concert a few months ago(my first introduction to them!) and heard his deeper vocals first, I prefer the records with the deeper voice. The first two have taken some getting used to. I take it that the general consensus around here is that Who Will Survive is the fan favorite? Of the deeper voiced albums, which is preferred?
  10. Thanks for the feedback guys! I ordred the standard box set with everything in it, as well as pre-ordered the MBD/Builders and the Butchers split 7" and can't wait to listen. But I suppose since I ordered them together, I probably won't get my box set until the 7" ships in July, eh?
  11. So....all the wooden box stuff aside.. how do the actual records sound? I've never purchased a record of MBD or from who manufactures their stuff, just been MP3 listening so far, but love it so much wanted to just take the plunge and buy the set. Despite being colored vinyl, are the pressings quiet? Sound quality good? Can anyone give me some details on this please? Thanks!

  13. After 5 or 6 listens to Codes and Keys, here's my ranking: 1. Photo Album 2. Transatlantacism 3. Something About Airplanes 4. Plans 5. We Have The Facts... 6. Narrow Stairs 7. Codes and Keys
  14. Hey now, Invader Zim is not just for angry fat girls! Some of us (somewhat) regular folk love it too...
  15. Man, it would be the bee's knees to finally have Head Automatica's Decadence on vinyl...just sayin....
  16. This was the set I saw (most recently): http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/deftones/2010/atandt-center-san-antonio-tx-4bd58fea.html Too bad the concert was filled with pushy assholes who violently pushed past me (I wasn't even near the front!) every song or two to get a beer, then go piss, repeat whole concert. The coolest thing I saw was at a 2000 show during "7 Words" they did a bit of Danzig's "Twist of Cain!" I was going apeshit with excitement but most of the stupid nu-metal crowd were totally puzzled!
  17. I know at least Surfer Rosa, Doolittle, and Bossanova were pressed by MoFi (MFSL) so those are *the* ones to get, as that company has a fantastic track record of "cut above" record releases. But they are a bit pricier, so if $ is a factor the 180gram versions sound pretty damned good too.
  18. Which of the two? I really liked the two rockin' ones on the 7" - "Heavy Orange" and "Asteroid." I know some don't care for Adams' rockier stuff, but lyrics aside I thought these both had a great melody and guitar. But I also really liked Orion, which a lot of people thought was terrible.

  20. Wow, I'm jealous too. I've seen them maybe only 4 times. Twice in 2000-01 (White Pony tour where Incubus opened 1, Glassjaw the other), and twice on the Diamond Eyes tour. Though I hear I skipped some rough years in between there where some people say their performances weren't so great... I had the opportunity to see them in '98 on the Warped Tour, but I went to see Bad Religion instead b/c I figured they were an older band and wouldn't be around much longer! HA! Now they're celebrating 30 years and I saw them 3 nights ago, lol. With painfully acute hindsight, I would have much rather seen Around The Fur-era Deftones. Le sigh... Hey, that reminds me, why haven't these guys ever put out a live album/DVD??!! (Music in High Places does NOT count) I would buy that shit MINUTE ONE of release!
  21. I've been checking Hastings stores in the Houston and Austin-San Antonio area and NONE have it. So you're lucky Mr. Waco....
  22. I'm so happy to see the all of the Deftones love around here. I feel like a few years ago, around when Saturday Night Wrist came out, it was lonely being a Deftones fan. Never ran into Deftones fans in person, and maybe I just haunted the wrong message boards, but I felt like I was the only one who still liked them, and especially the only one who *loved* Saturday Night Wrist. As for Travis' question, yes, I would definitely buy the b-sides & Rarities on vinyl, even tho I did get the RSD Covers album. If you didn't want there to be overlap it'd be cool to just get a single disc of the stuff that wasn't on the Covers record. But I wholeheartedly agree, there needs to be a B-Sides comp that has "Teething!" To me it is the quintessential Deftones b-side.
  23. No posters in either release, but Evil comes with a CD containing the same songs that are on the 12" I'd never seen that with a single!
  24. I have both of these and they're awesome. The Palaces of Montezuma one, the vinyl is INCREDIBLE! Has to be seen in-person to be believed.
