  1. It's awesome that he did a comparison. Thanks McPherson!
  2. Yup, mine had damage on both sides from the hole, as well as that same scrape/wear on the bottom front like the one someone photographed. Kinda sucks... Songs sound fantastic though!!!
  3. $10 for a 7" I can handle, $6 for shipping is the difficult thing to swallow about this. But like a previous poster, my man-crush on Adams "has me over a barrel" as someone else said, so I pulled the trigger. It'll look nice next to my pink Pax-Am 7"
  4. Yeah, all of their Mr. Bungle presses were like that. That's a damn shame. I love all 3 albums and would love to own all of them, but gave up after Disco Violante. Guess it's a good thing I did.
  5. Damn you Plain Recordings! Your taste in music is excellent! Too bad you don't use the master tapes to press your vinyl...or really have much quality control at all... That Disco Violante by Mr. Bungle pressing they did was quiet on the music thanks to cramming 70+minutes on one disc, and a NOISY pressing! Their Mazzy Star and Elliott Smith represses were lackluster as well... sigh...
  6. Okay, so since it was only 11.99 @ Hot Topic, I bought the repress of the original. The completist in me couldn't help it. I never got it back in the day before prices inflated on used copies. I A/B'd the 2010 and the original sound repress last night, using "Head Like A Hole" and while the original version sounds like an old friend since I've heard it hundreds (if not thousands) of times, I really do like the sound of the 2010. Probably better. It just has much more bottom end and "punch" than the old version. Of course there are those that *hate* the new version, claiming it has no dynamics, brickwalled, etc...which I can understand on the CD/MP3 release, but with those tendancies tempered by the quieter by nature vinyl, I think it sounds great. So the old version probably won't get much listen, but I just thought it would be cool to have it for so cheap, being a huge NIN fan and all...
  7. So did anybody actually get this 1LP of the original release? How does it sound?
  8. So maybe I missed it in a thread somewhere, but I nearly shit myself when I looked at these in Hot Topic yesterday and noticed they both had EXTRA TRACKS! Waiter having "Devil" and "Pines," Church Mouth having the full version of "Sun Brother" and "Seventeen!!!" Dammit, I was hoping to skip these reissues but if they have these songs from old 7"s I was never able to get, I might have to pick them up! Can anybody who's gotten these comment on sound quality (now that extra tracks are on it, but still 1 disc) compared to the older vinyl collective pressings?
  9. Here's my review of it: http://ourvinyl.com/eminem-royce-da-5%e2%80%999s-lp-bad-meets-evil-%e2%80%93-hell-the-sequel/ In two words: Very good. (If you're a fan of Em) As for the Decadence LP, every copy my HT had was in different degrees of severity of bent top left corner! :'( I got the one with the most minimal bend. I mentioned it to the employee and he blamed it on the customers saying they didn't know how to handle vinyl... : Anyway, I listened to it while making dinner last night. Sounds pretty decent. Nice low end bass response, though a bit quieter than some of my records, I guess so they could fit it all on one disc. But each side did have a couple of seconds of lead-in, so that was welcome since lately it feels like most records, no matter how close to the edge you start them, start *IMMEDIATELY*. Overall, happy with the purchase.
  10. Wow, that's nuts. It's no $800 package with tuning forks (Bjork) but it's still pretty damn extensive. Maybe they'll release the album by itself in a vinyl edition, instead of some vinyl box? I don't really need remixes and bsides on wax, but it would be nice to own the album on vinyl.
  11. Ok, grabbed a ticket. Between Hot Snakes reunion and Danzig playing Misfits & Samhain and shit, this is pants-creaming amazingness.
  12. *le bump* This is a good question. Did anybody get theirs? If so, how is it compared to the 2x10"?
  13. I actually enjoyed the Operation Mission tracks, I just wish TBATB one was instrumental since the MBD one is. But I like chiptune music like Anamanaguchi. And I agree, the covers of each other are great! Anybody have any thoughts on the 12" Who Will Survive re-release? Look, quality, pics, etc?
  14. Now that it's been out for more than week, how's everyone feel about it? Same? Different? I find I'm warming up to it a lot more than I was initially. And I agree with struckanerve, "All Your Light" is one of the best cuts.
  15. Fair enough. But now it reminds me of the Van Gogh episode of Doctor Who. +1 for you sir. Brilliant and astute reference.
  16. 1. GET IN THE PIT AND TRY TO LOVE SOMEONE! 2. FUCKIN' MAGNETS... HOW DO THEY WORK?! 3. I kinda liked ANThology back in the day... That is all...
  17. So now that some people have had a chance to spin the vinyl, what are your thoughts on the vinyl pressing for In The Moutain, as well as the music? I think the vinyl sounds pretty darn good...HOWEVER, I'm not impressed with the music. It sounds like typical Portugal. The Man. Like they're treading water artistically. The only song that really sticks out to me yet is "Sleep Forever." It's disappointing because I've loved every album by them so far almost immediately, even American Ghetto, so it's disappointing to have this initial reaction. I don't dislike it by any means and it beats the shit out of any mainstream garbage, but I just don't feel like it's their "best album yet" like Gourley is saying. Your thoughts?
  18. Okay, so after sitting down and listening to it again, while *not* doing other things, I am very happy to "eat crow" and admit I was wrong. This album is actually really good! It's not quite classic TMBG, but it's the closest they've come in a very long while.
  19. Hell yeah! That's exciting, I've always wanted a couple of those...
  20. Haven't listened to the new stuff yet. But I *love* this band. I got into them back in the day, bought import CD singles (back when the AUS/US conversion rate was AWESOME), the whole nine yards. I even own the Self-Titled and Roll On on vinyl! From there they got spotty for me. Modern ARTillery I thought was patchy in places, but then completely loved State of Emergency and fell in love with the band all over again. And then White Noise seemed rather bland in places....and now I hear the "meh" over new stuff, which makes me sad. I'll have to give it a listen and see, because I want to believe in this band, dammit!
  21. I just listened to the new one... I wasn't very impressed. But then again, I'm a grumpy old fan that hasnt really liked anything since Factory Showroom. I just wonder, where is the quirky, inventive band that made those earlier albums? I dont like to be a hater, but I think those kids albums forever tainted their songwriting. There were times I swear lyricaly I was listening to one of their kids album, except for helping one get through their paragraph essay. By talking about structure and protagonists. I dunno, probably being too harsh, but this was my favorite band once a long time ago, so it just hurts to hear them put out bland music.
  22. Freaking excited!!! This is a good year to be a Daryl Palumbo/Deftones AND vinyl fan!
  23. Just wanted to chime in and say how excited I am about these releases as well! I too have been tempted by eBay prices but can now rest easy knowing I'll get these this year, finally! VERY HAPPY, THANK YOU TRAVIS for whatever part you played in making this happen!
  24. I actually have a Triple Decker. The question is, should I feel bad for keeping it mint and not cracking it open for the 7" inside? The thought of opening it kills me...
  25. var ads = new Array("300x250-1.png","300x250-2.png","300x250-3.png"); var num = Math.floor(Math.random()*ads.length); if(Math.floor(Math.random()*2) == 0) { if(Math.floor(Math.random()*2) == 0) document.write('+':hah8x3tn]'); else document.write('+':hah8x3tn]'); } else { document.write(''); }
