  1. Yo so I got that Thursday 7" and it was "Counting 5-4-3-2-1" if someone wants it PM me. I'm probably looking to sell it.
  2. You mean the Black and White album? I bought one straight from a UK record store online. It was a little pricey but it was a solid transaction (except the top of the cover was split a little, but thems the breaks). Didn't know anyone would eBay this when it's still readily available in the US.
  3. Is that 180 gram? Because if it was... damn, that takes some effort.
  4. Well, not literally but damn close. The E-mail just came in: Los Angeles, December 13, 2007. 22 Jacks (featuring members of WAX, The Breeders, Adolescents and Royal Crown Revue) will be firing it up again in 2008. 22Jacks were founded by Joe Sib (co-owner of Side One Dummy Records) in 1995 after the break-up of his 90s band WAX. 22Jacks recorded two studio albums (Uncle Bob and Going North) as well as a Live EP, Overserved which included a guest vocal appearance from Joey Ramone. 22Jacks' tour schedule was extensive, including several stints across the United States, Canada and Australia. In 2001 Sib decided to focus on Side One Dummy Records full-time. Steve Soto went on to reform The Adolescents as well as Manic Hispanic. Jose Medeles joined Donavon Frankenreiter and is currently in The Breeders. The band, which has always centered around friends joining together to play has also included Bill Fraenza, Chris Shiflett of the The Foo Fighters, Scott Shiflett of Face To Face, CJ Ramone of The Ramones, Matt Riddle Face To Face/No Use for Name and Kelly LeMieux Goldfinger. The reformed line up includes former members Sib (vocals), Soto (vocals/guitar), Fraenza (Guitar), Medeles (Drums) as well as former Royal Crown Revue guitarist James Achor filling in on bass. Three shows have been scheduled in January 2008. 1/4/08 - Glendale, CA - The Scene 1/5/08 - San Jose, CA - The Blank Club 1/6/08 - San Francisco, CA - The Fillmore (Supporting Social Distortion) While no immediate plans have been made to record new material, the band does plan on additional shows in 2008.
  5. No order: Jason Webley - Still Andrew Jackson Jihad - People 2 (the reckoning) Gaslight Anthem - We Came to Dance The Riot Before - Redneckties (or We are Wild Stallions) I'm sure there are more.
  6. This is the back swing of the vinyl pendulum. Records I pasted on two years ago because I was saving money are now eBaying for nearly $100. It's a bummer but the kids love Alkaline Trio and dump a shit ton on anything with their name on it. Bummer...except when I sell my VC #2 of 100 copy of Heavens.
  7. This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. I don't care about the publicity stunt or anything like that but who gives a shit about a fast food hamburger? It's truly pathetic that peoples childhood memories are of a Whooper. But the only fast food I eat anymore is pizza or taco bell, so....
  8. Nope. Sorry. I'm all for trading or selling but I can't see anything. you can PM me if ya like.
  9. Hey thursday fans, help me out. I saw a Thursday 7" in my local store. It was blue. Any ideas? Might as well take advantage of the open thread.
  10. you kinda look like don rickles True story, that dude survived Auschwitz....like Magneto.
  11. Says I don't have access to your spread eagle sheet. I got all three of the 7" including a 1/16 Mustard copy of "Well Never Know It / Hard To Be Around It" if you're interested.
  12. That's me after a couple of drinks. It's a pretty ugly sight when I get loaded.
  13. It blows sometimes and doesn't pay too well but: http://www.news.com/8301-13772_3-9832182-52.html?tag=newsmap How many people get to say they helped organize an event like that? Just taking a second to let the tech nerd in me brag. Proceed as normal.
  14. I said the same thing and I just bought like 10 in the last two days. It's a serious addiction.
  15. I had a teacher in high school who had a copy of this (seriously). He and his friend were huge into the Beatles and he bought a copy with the sticker over the original cover (new when they came out) with his friend. His friend said he could peel off the stickers and he would do that and bring it back. Friend comes back the next day and gives him a the record with a mark on the corner, says he totally destroyed my teachers cover trying to peal off the sticker so he gave my teacher his own copy (slightly damaged) in order to make it up to him. Nice guy right? Except it comes out years later that he actually peeled my teacher's copy off perfectly and damaged his own copy. He gave the damaged copy to my teacher claiming it was the original. That was some shady business.
  16. I actually have two copies of this. I use one as a hot pad for when I put hot pots down on the counter and the other steadies the wobbly leg of my kitchen table. Never thought anyone would want a record that was recalled.
  17. I believe the answer is $5,000 worth of product if auctioned off to the right hipster. You can send my poster to the United Negro College fund.
  18. I think the people who were our age when we all were 14 would have said the exact same thing. But I think when it was said about me (or at least how I would interpret it) is that I was a dumb kid with shitty taste in music. I was the least critical person in terms of "selling out" as a kid. I can see where a 24 year old may not have liked me but whatever. Today you have hordes (a veritable legion) of kids who are 14 and 15 spouting rhetoric and bullshit claiming they know what's wrong with the scene and what is bullshit. I don't want to be elitist or ageist but if you don't pay all your own way you can't really say what a sell out is, because even though your concept may be perfectly rational it may be entirely impractical. But hey thems just my two pennies.
  19. It's strange but I am actually more pissed at Vick than the people who do it for money. Vick is a multi-millionaire with all sorts of endorsements. He doesn't need the tens of thousands of dollars dog fighting can bring in. So why do it? The sheer enjoyment of playing god while animals die for your amusement? Fuck that. Let this bag of shit get face fucked by a pitbull. I still can't believe there's a team that will hire him when he gets out...But I know one will.
  20. God it's insane. I can't tell you how many conversations I've had with friends or music folks that end with "I just don't want to talk about punk rock politics anymore". It's great to talk about bands and music but there's this whole section of politics where you get into what's okay to do and okay to like and why it's okay and that shit kills me. I would have to imagine it's hard to be a band with any morals because once you say one thing the punx agree with they all hold you to any and all standards of decency they can think of. Seems like you can't take a piss without them debating the wasted water of the pluming system or the recycled content in the toilet paper.
  21. Sorry, I do have a copy of the white album but not Revolver. Good luck.
  22. Went to a local store and hit a Hives Jackpot AKA I.D.I.O.T. - Clear vinyl Veni Vedi Vicious - Purple (out of 250) Tyrannosaurus Hives - White Vinyl And a copy of fall out boy - under the cork tree, selling that shit.
  23. Dude, three words "Hire Jehovah's Witnesses". Bam, problem solved. Still, I'm just stoked on the release and you can thank these boards for keeping me updated. I think for the release of To leave or die in Long Island I wrote you like three times. The boards are much more efficient.
